Kate with Oyster has been tremendous as my guide to all things pre-departure! My questions were answered efficiently, and always politely, Kate checked in regularly and assured me of everything I needed along with time frames. She was so supportive of my reality in needing to renew my passport. Never critical, never condescending, despite my ridiculous mistake of letting it expire in the middle of Covid! I could not be more complementary of all that Kate did to make this trip come together. I am at the departure gate right now as I head off to Thailand and want to say thank you thank you thank you!

The last few weeks I have been travelling around South East Asia with Oyster Worldwide, completing my Gold The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

This has been a truly once in a lifetime experience, meeting many new people from all around the world and learning about the Asian culture and lifestyle.

From volunteering at an ethical elephant sanctuary in Chaing Mai, Thailand to partying on a yacht in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, I enjoyed every second of it.

Oyster Worldwide have been super professional and helpful throughout the whole experience and made a complex and daunting trip, a breeze in the park!

It was sad listening to tales of the rescue bears but it's a blessing they have been saved and have a beautiful place to live now.

Georgie has been extremely helpful with the arrangements for my trip to Thailand. Prompt and detailed responses to all of my questions. This is my second volunteering trip with Oyster and I would highly recommend them.

Unfortunately we were unable to participate in the project that we had booked due to it being suspended (not Oyster’s fault), but Georgie was fantastic. She communicated regularly and provided alternative possibilities for us.
The MyOyster portal is easy to use and the layout is really helpful. There are lots of useful pages, such as a packing checklist, vaccination recommendations, helpful tips about the country, and lots more.
I would definitely book again with Oyster in future.

I had a great experience in Romania! This was my first time travelling abroad alone, and I found that the ‘My Oyster’ portal helped to prepare me very well. Razvan was very welcoming and helpful, and I felt well looked after. Our driver (Ovidiu) was great company when travelling to and from the bear sanctuary each day. It was lovely to see all the bears and other animals at the sanctuary. Brasov was a beautiful place to explore. Overall, I’d like to say a big thank you to Oyster Worldwide and the Bear Sanctuary for an amazing and well organised trip

ROMANIA, An amazing experience from beginning to end.
Every part of this trip had been well planned by Oyster, I only have positive things to say. Such a warm welcome on arrival by Oyster's representative, placed in well cared for accommodation with all modern amenities situated a few mins walk from the stunning historic centre of Brasov.
The weekend began with a complimentry trip to Bran Castle, spectacular as one would expect.
Now for the exciting bit, working as a Volunteer at the Bear Sanctury was truely a life experience, we were given a walking tour to start off the week (hilly so need to be reasonably fit). Seeing the rescued bears in their 'sanctury' was heartwarming and simply awesome, they are so well fed and cared for within a safe environment. Bears are not the only rescue animals here, there are deer, wolves and dogs too to name a few.
Workwise, I was given tasks to help with food prep, also with winter fast approaching I helped out with painting fences which I loved as could observe the animals at close proximity.
I would recommend this trip to anyone that loves animals and the Great Outdoors. Brasov is a beautiful city too for sightseeing on a Sunday (day off).
Go do it, you won't regret it.

Would highly recommend, everything is so well organised and they really look after you. I’m doing a programme in Australia and having an amazing time. They helped with the visa applications, finding jobs and getting myself set up here for a while.

We had such a great experience working with Oyster! Georgie is fantastic and everything from her initial connect to final communication through our planning and volunteer experience was perfect. She took the time to help us identify what project we may want to do (we did a family project with our children), shared pros and cons of all options, and helped us navigate through the uncertainty of travel post covid. We are so thankful to have had the chance to work with Georgie and I can't wait to do another project with Oyster soon.

I had an amazing experience volunteering at Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Romania! It was a dream come true to see the bears being given a second chance by a charity that clearly cares about their welfare!

My project manager (Razvan) was very helpful and attentive, all round a great guy!

I am heading out to South Africa for the volunteer sports coaching program! I have found the website very useful. The login portal shows all of the necessary documents, gives reminders for timely submissions, and had loads of very useful information about what to pack and what not to pack. I found the videos of what a day in the life on the program looks like to provide great firsthand information about the program. Overall it has been lovely working with the program and I can’t wait to do more!

Currently enroute to South Africa to spend a couple of weeks at the elephant reserve there. So far the team at OysterWorld have been 1st class with the level of service, communication and information provided to me. As such I know I'll be in good hands upon arrival too. Can't wait for the awesome adventure to start. So don't hesitate, contact them now and just do it!

We have yet to embark on our family volunteer adventure to Brasov, Romania, but so far the customer service we have received from Oyster Worldwide has been excellent. We have been in contact with the office on and off over the last 3 years, and everyone we have spoken to there has been helpful, providing advice and answers to our queries. There is nothing they haven't thought of, we know we will be in safe hands and looking forward to our experience in Romania.

I have just returned from my 3rd adventure with Oyster and once again it was amazing. You could be forgiven for thinking that age may be a barrier to doing some of the volunteering but it really isn't. The project hosts are really happy to have you there and extremely keen to support you to have the best experience within your means (but possibly outside your comfort zone!) I started these trips in my 50s and have just hit the next decade; some of the work can be intense but is in no way impossible so go with an open heart, have a go and you'll have an incredible experience!

We had a great time in Romania (Brasov was gorgeous) and are now planning a trip to Borneo. The staff at Oyster and the in-country support was fantastic and helped us to do our bit for for the bears.
