Established in 1989 by Martin Gibbons, it has since expanded into the 4 acre nursery in Richmond where we grow, propagate and source a large variety of both indoor and outdoor plants, from the rare and unusual to those more common place in horticulture today.
The Palm Centre is a 4 acre nursery which includes several large glasshouses and outdoor display areas, situated in the old kitchen gardens of Ham House, right by the River Thames in Richmond.
We specialise in a wide range of plants from palm trees to herbaceous perennials. Our established relationships with growers all around Europe and further afield allow us to hold a diverse range of plants for your home, garden or bigger landscaping projects.
Our online shop is a selection of the broader stock you can browse at our nursery in Ham, London. Come and visit the nursery to see an even wider selection, featuring the largest specimens we have.
We love the unusual and the large, and aim to keep good stock levels as consistent as possible. However, with the range we carry and the seasonal nature of our industry it’s not always achievable.

the palm centre did everything they said they would very professional.
1st order from the Palm centre on line and have to say how delighted I am with their service, ordered on Saturday delivered today they kept me in the loop with emails informing me at every stage of the transaction and delivery the courier was just as helpful, when I need another palm I will definitely use the palm centre.

Great service from The Palm Centre
After my last Tetrapanex fail to make it through winter I had to purchase another. My plant was reasonably priced and delivery was perfect. Fingers crossed that I can get it through a few winters until it gets established.

Fern-tastic service from a plant supplier
Recently purchased 2 plants from The Palm Centre. Would never normally do reviews but felt they deserved it! The website was clear and informative. Prices are really competitive. Once ordered the plants arrived very quickly in perfect condition. The Palm Centre sent helpful updates about delivery and an email after delivery from the manager thanking me for my business. Great to see a company operating with such customer care. I definitely recommend them to others.

The Palm Center have been consistently excellent. The condition and quality of their plants are really exceptional and they are delivered quick and in healthy condition.
I have done two sizeable orders from them and if I could order all of my plants from this nursery I would. Also their customer service is incredibly attentive and responsive. Well done on an exceptional end to end experience this is a great example that how to grow your business through positive client advocacy!
