Booked and stayed at Leysdown site, we booked a gold plus caravan with decking, and all was going great until I stepped into the van, the smell of human waste was disgusting, bathroom floor was damp, so l cleaned it, but still the smell was there, reported and they sent round a cleaner with spray, still didn't solve it, so had to buy loads of air freshener and place them around the van, and have windows open as much as we could.
After out 1st night I hooverd and the carpet was covered with dog hair, not nice.
Hooverd under the bed and found out why the bed was uncomfortable. Some of the slats under the bed were either broken or missing or held together with sellotape. Reported and repaired. Behind the van keep flooding every time we used the shower, reported twice and fully fixed after the second report.
Handle hanging off the frying pan. The list goes on..
The reception staff were ok apart from one man, was quite unpleasant when I Reported about the bed and smell, I said "I booked a gold caravan ", and his reply was "it may be gold, but it's old, what can you expect ".
I told him I expected what I paid for gold not old.
We will never stay there again,

I am very disappointed with the reception when I arrived on my booking, confirmation there was no booking time I arrived at 2 o’clock and was told to come back at 4 o’clock. I spoke to other people on the site and they told me they were allowed in at 3 o’clock. I felt as they judged me didn’t like me very disappointed ruined my holiday.

Very helpful staff. Clean caravan. Lovely place to stay. We will be back soon 😊

It was great time wonderful cottage hot tub was great pool and spa was wonderful same it not open longer may be until 6pm

We had a lovely weekend, the caravan was spotless and the park itself was well kept. The staff were great especially Mandy who gave us a curtesy call to make sure everything was ok, and was very helpful.

The holiday park in Clacton wasn’t the best. Left early as the caravan was dirty. The base of the toilets looked as if they’d never been cleaned. The radiators beyond dirty. Entertainment on site was nothing to see. Facilities on site not great. Food adequate if you’re starving. Wouldn’t go or recommend it .

Me and my husband went away to park holidays golden sands had a beautiful caravan we went from the Friday to the Monday it’s a great place to stay entertainment every night bingo for us with some gd money to win there’s no cash payments it’s all card you can buy a card for the slots with the amount you want we had a trip into Paignton and also half hr away was Torquay loverly places going again next yr as if you book while there it’s only £30 deposit

Lovely quiet site maintained to a high standard.
Good friendly staff.
So good we booked for next year. Only down side was the bar not being open longer than 1800 to 2000 but I suppose it was the middle of September.
No complaints about anything and look forward to going again next year.
Thoroughly recommended if you want a quiet relaxing holiday in Cornwall.
Also the bus service to Newquay isn't to bad with 2 busses an hour

We picked this park as it sounded just right for us. A few things to do. But not a big site.
All we needed really was a base and a nice clean caravan to stay in.
Nice and peacefull at night so we had a good nights sleep each night.
Only minor problem was we had quite a few flys in the caravan. We bought fly spray from the shop there. But that didnt really had much effect. But the caravan was spotless so guess just due to the time of year.
We would definaly do a park holiday again. If we found another quite site that suited us

Considering I booked a gold caravan I was disappointed. The sofa had stains on and the caravan was very basic so I dread to think what I would have got having booked bronze. The park itself was ok . Having to book swimming sessions was annoying. I could see the pool from my caravan and most times it was empty so booking didn’t seem necessary. However we were that out of peak when the kids were back at school. The entertainment was great for kids and those who love bingo as we did . Food was ok but the service was excellent. Overall a good break

The caravan was very clean and in good condition,we arrived 2 hours before check-in and the caravan was ready for us.

Suffolk Sands Holiday Park
This was our first ever holiday park holiday and chose Suffolk Sands as it was only an hour drive and we could take our dog. Excellent check in process and friendly greeting from staff, in fact spoke with some of the guys working on site and they were all very friendly. Were given caravan B22 which for the 2 of us was big enough, but not sure how 6 people could stay comfortably in there. Both bedrooms are quite small and the bathroom is also small but usable for a few days. Plenty of cutlery and crockery although we did not have any paring, bread or chopping knives which when I checked the list of things in the caravan on the last morning we should have had, and trying to cut a lemon with a cheap knife was challenging to say the least, I was going to mention this when I checked out but reception was closed when we left at 7.45am. At home we have blackout curtains, but there are only cheap curtains in the caravan so bedroom was quite light and that did not help with sleep for me personally, so if I return a sleeping mask it is.
Location is fantastic, a lovely stroll down to Felixstowe Pier and a little bit further into the town centre. It is quite close to the docks, so you do get some background noise but you soon get used to it as nothing major apart from one ship that sounded its horn at 4.30am one morning.
If we come back, an upgrade is the way forward as would have liked some outside space where we could have a drink and let the dog wander about as there was plenty of caravans with some lovely outside space.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the site is very well kept we stayed in a platinum caravan which was really nice, we enjoyed our holiday so much we booked again for next May looking forward to coming back. We stayed at manor lakes at hengar manor.

Caravan was not cleaned properly but the up side your Manager for house keeping went above and beyond to sort it out for us she was absolutely amazing, if it had not been for her and the young lady that helped her, sorry cannot remember her name I would have left immediately. the beds that were made up were dirty with foot prints, pillows stained with blood grill tray never cleaned and sofa all stained do not class your caravans a gold standard in my opinion, and will not be returning

My husband and I and dog stayed for 4 nights and had a great experience. The caravan was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The site was quiet and relaxing and the restaurant bar very welcoming if a little expensive for drinks. We would recommend the site and would return.

The caravan for gold standard was very basic, it was up on a hill so you could only park in the car park and lug everything up to the caravan. The windows were absolutely filthy and the flat sheet on the bed didn’t fit properly so when you moved it ruckef up and ended ip on the mattress. We paid for Wi-fi while we were there which was absolutely useless, the most signal we could get was 2 bars and only one of us could get access at a time. The caravan park was situated down a country lane only wide enough for 1 car either van and other vehicles speeding around. The pot holes and uneven toad were also a nightmare. Would definitely not go there again,

Aug 2026- PAKEFIELD
The caravan was very clean and tidy with the beds made up for our arrival. The site itself was clean and tidy with good views of the sea and easy access to the beach. However, the restaurant/bar area was a disappointment! We decided to go in after being out all day to grab a meal and something to drink. It was busy and understaffed. Many tables were cluttered with dirty plates and glasses, it was difficult to find somewhere to sit. The music was very loud and there didn't appear to be any differentiation between bar/drinking area and restaurant. I ordered our food and drinks at the bar and was disgusted by the price. It was almost £51.00 for 2 pints and two chicken tikka curries. However, when they arrived I was appalled!! They looked like toddler meals - with 5 bites of chicken in each one, roughly a tablespoon of white rice and 4 mini (tiny) poppadoms. I asked to speak to someone only to have the young girl serving being sent back to us with brief answers to our displeasure. I waited for 30mins but after chasing a few times no one appeared!! Not impressed!! There were only two staff on behind the bar taking food and drinks orders and then making the drinks. It was bingo night and the staff announced the cards were on sale at the bar area. This was a ridiculous place to sell them as the volume of people at the bar was crazy.People couldn't turn round to carry their drinks away, people were trying to order meals as well as drinks. Kids were running in and out of the people at the bar as they wanted bingo cards! Bedlam and daylight robbery!!!!
The park and caravan were lovely but I will never use the bar/restaurant in a Park Holiday again

We booked a week here, left after 3 days, disgraceful place, seawick use to be lovely,it's far from that now, it's a dangerous dirty over priced crap hole, bar staff added drinks to our orders,when I confronted them they said it was an accident, once is an accident, 3 times is robbing people!! Police on site constantly due to fights ,there was a domestic with a family 3 caravans from us, security was called, but only have security on Friday and Saturdays as we found out on the Sunday,my son was attacked by 5 older children,to the point he was strangled, he had bruises and red marks all over he's body , management told us they can't control other people's actions!! The caravan was filthy ,my daughter is wheelchair bound and gets around on the floor Wen indoors,her knees and hands was black after 10 minutes of being in the caravan, there was fecies wiped up the wall in the single toilet, the food in the club house was disgusting, in all honesty I will never go bk to Clacton,Ive been coming to this site for the last 10 years and it's completely ruied this for our family, never ever again, I called the police regarding my son being attacked and what they had to say about the site was that it's always like this and they are always called there ,but unfortunately they couldn't do nothing as I had left the site , I had booked another holiday the Sunday evening after my son was attacked and we drove straight there on the Monday morning, when I told them I was leaving 5 days early due to all wat I have explained the lady on reception that I gave the key to really couldn't care less , it really is a disgrace,and unsafe for the children and adults tbh !

I've got no issues with the caravan itself it was clean and spacious but the park was dreadful.
It was a mile away from the entertainment complex and to get there was a slow trudge across the Pebble beach . I had to pay extra for a WiFi connection which was expensive and useless. There were overflowing rubbish bins across the site which were attracting the local wildlife and a park warden who drove past and couldn't seem to care less.
Overall a terrible holiday and I won't be going back.

A beautiful well maintained park with friendly staff. Highly recommended for everyone.
