The acommdation was immaculate and well…
The acommdation was immaculate and well equipped. The TV couldn't connect any BBC channel. The steps to the van are potentially dangerous..the riser height is unequal and it's difficult for anyone with impaired vision to see the step edges. Suggest tape be applied to step edges. Please update the signage on the roundabout, very difficult to see coming from the east. lovely stay would come again. Van 154
Very nice friendly people works in…
Very nice friendly people works in office the caravans we stayed in was little far from evrerything but we enjoyed everypart only bad think i would say there is not much to do with kids but otherwise was nice stay also the restaurant its abit overpriced for chicken burger was about 17£ and actualy wasnt chicken burger inside but 2 strips ! And very small bun would say children menu instead but thank you we liked there
A great family holiday
A great family holiday, clean caravan, facilities excellent including indoor pool, pub & restaurant & a short hop on the bus to local attractions
Bodmin and its Team.
From our arrival the team at Park Holidays Bodmin were amazing, friendly and helpful. The lodge did not disappoint in fact was all we could offer wanted and more and the site itself was so well maintained and cared for. Only slight disappointment for us was the restaurant which we only used once. Menu was very limited and basic. Bar was a bit expensive but still used on several occasions as the banter with the staff was so welcoming. Great location close to the A30 so for touring round beautiful Cornwall it’s ideal. We will return one day just hope they don’t spoil it as suited us being quieter. Cannot comment on the pool and gym as ran out of time to use.
Wood Farm, Dorset
We stayed for 4 nights last week, Mon-Fri.
We’d previously stayed at Haven and thought spending a bit more would give us nicer, cleaner accommodation. That wasn’t the case.
We paid a dog fee because we have a tiny dog. You could assume the extra fee would be for extra cleaning but that’s not the case. It’s just another way to make you pay more. There were dog hairs on the floor and the sofa. There were dog urine stains on the carpet.
Lounge and kitchen: The kitchen was badly equipped with crockery and cutlery. The cooking utensils badly need replacing. We brought dishwasher tablets but the dishwasher was out of salt and rinse aid so therefore left the dishes stained and dirty. Why is this not replenished regularly?
We brought pods for the coffee machine but the make and model wasn’t stipulated. The pods required can only be bought online. They provide three! What use is that?
The washing up bowl was cracked and the water leaked out straightaway. Tea towels are not provided.
Bedroom and en suite: no bedside lights and no mirror which are basic things for a bedroom. There was no television even though it was listed in the blurb. The mattress is one of the worst I’ve slept on - you can feel the springs. It was so bad that my husband slept in the twin room. The beds there were no better. In fact the one he didn’t sleep was the worst with a very visible large dip in it even with bedding on it.
The en-suite toilet seat did not fit the toilet and needs replacing. The bath towel I used had someone else’s hair woven into the towelling.
Neither of the bathrooms have anything to hang clothes or towels on (apart from one towel ring for the hand towel). No hooks, no rails, nothing. Where are we supposed to put those essentials when we have a shower or bath? A grab rail in the shower wouldn’t go amiss either.
Things we don’t need: it’s not a posh hotel. We don’t need robes and don’t want to wear some that have been worn by countless people before us, especially after the ‘hair in bath towel’ experience. Nor do we need flimsy slippers, although they do protect your socks from the urine on the carpet. Please provide tea towels instead of those things.
Facilities: be aware that if you are staying Mon-Fri, the cafe isn’t open on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. But don’t worry, it was open on Thursday with a vast food menu of… pizza. That’s it. Pizza from 12. No one else was in the cafe. I wonder why! We had coffee but it wasn’t great.
I’ve given 2 stars but that’s solely for the area and the park.
We decided not to inform staff of any of the above while there (although I’m sure they know the vast majority of it already) because we weren’t willing to hang around for anyone to come and rectify anything, even if that was agreed, or possible. I really should have asked for a refund of the dog fee at the very least, but doubt if that would have been given.
Harts The Isle of Sheppey absolutely…
Harts The Isle of Sheppey absolutely brilliant Reception staff so helpful go above and beyond to help you, bar staff brilliant and entertainment team brilliant, also thank you to all the maintenance team all first class. Had yet again an amazing time. Thank you
Bodmin Holiday Park offers fantastic value for money
Bodmin Holiday Park offers fantastic value for money and provided a brilliant overall experience for our trip. The location is ideal, sitting right off the main road and serving as a perfect base for exploring Cornwall. Most major coastal spots like Newquay, Padstow and Perranporth are reachable within a quick thirty-five-minute drive, and there are plenty of National Trust properties to visit nearby. The grounds around the park are spacious, incredibly well maintained and offer a great environment to relax.
The facilities on site are impressive across the board. The fishing lakes are immaculate and very well stocked, the play park is great for kids and the tennis courts look to be in excellent condition. Both the swimming pool and gym are well maintained and act as a real highlight of the holiday park. While we did not eat in the restaurant, we enjoyed a few drinks in the bar area, and the staff everywhere were friendly and welcoming.
The only downside to the whole stay was that the interior of the accommodation felt a little outdated. However, given how good the rest of the facilities, grounds and location were, it did not take away from what was a fantastic trip.
Didn’t enjoy our stay
Nice site, good location of the gold pet friendly van.
Glendale holiday park in Cumbria.
Extremely uncomfortable beds never in my life have my husband and myself had to sleep on a sofa I went to reception and was told they would send two mattress toppers but sadly they only sent 1, we went back and asked them again and they said they didn’t have any more. Our stay was Monday-Friday and after two horrendous nights sleep (street light outside our van curtains didn’t keep the light out) on a sofa bed we made the decision to pack up and go home Wednesday morning.
Upon handing the keys in, I was offered a meal but at this point we just wanted to get home so declined.
I could feel the springs in the cheap mattresses, not what you would expect from a gold standard van. It was very basic.
Would not stay again
wood farm Dorset PRO'S & CONS
wood farm Dorset PRO'S & CONS
PRO'S
wood farm in Dorset..it's peaceful, and the views are great. a fifteen minute walk to the beach....
the static caravan was clean & tidy the fridge freezer was really good. The bed I slept in was comfy. the staff where friendly
CON'S
if you haven't a car like i did wood farm has many up hill slopes and if you have difficulties walking or use a wheel chair or a walking stick you'll probably find this park difficult to get around.
yes the static caravan was clean, but the cooking equipment was in adequate plenty of knives and forks spoons mugs and plates glasses. and a glass jug..a huge frying pan and one huge sauce pan and a large plastic bowl...and that was it....there was no bowls for the use in the microwave...i had to cook every thing in the glass pint jug...
put it this way bring your own stuff that you'll need to prepare a meal from start to the finish and oven gloves and a t-towel.
the TV. is terrible there is no BBC no NETFLIX Prime T.v only Bart Simson. E4. quiz shows and news channels oh film 4...shopping channels very disappointing . but i managed and had to keep a cool head as this was my first holiday in ten years. basically i could not wait for the park to open up so i could drop the keys off...i posted them through the letter box of the sales building and didn't want to leave under a cloud. instead i left under a rainbow just before the bus arrived.
Lovely modern caravan with en suite…
Lovely modern caravan with en suite toilet with a second row view of the sea. The number was d12 and it was pet friendly , clean and quiet location and will be definitely booking again
Lovely lakeview from pub but not disabled friendly enough
We had a Gold disabled and pet friendly caravan in Chichester. It was acceptable, bit tatty round edges. The shower was not a walk in. It did have a seat but there was a plastic slanted lip and the water did not stay inside. Bathroom soaked. No bathmats provided, not even a mop! Beds were super wide and had enough space to access round edges. However only 2 plug sockets by bed. So take an extension cable. 1 bedside table. No wastebins and no tv in bedrooms. Wardrobe was full of bagged bedding so unable to use properly.
Very noisy. Thin walls and ill fitting drafty windows. Shoddy net curtains and stained carpets. Our caravan was right next to the flyover main road. The traffic does not stop. We had a field behind us too which was great for the dogs but not off lead as not enclosed. Also non stop traffic on site as unbeknown to us it is also a residential site. So cars, dogs, cats, deliveries and even a trailer pulling a demolition derby crashed car. Just beware when walking past the residential areas as they not very friendly. Made us feel unwelcome, as if we intruding.
For a dog friendly caravan and paying £60 to take 2 xs dogs, we were surprised at the lack of facilities for them. No safe walking areas, no food or water bowls or bedding in caravan. Even the lakeside nature walks were not dog friendly.
The lakeside areas are accessible directly from the site which we liked. But omg, Chichester council need to clean up the actual public nature areas! Broken burnt out vans on trail and at the school lane end be careful as large dogs behind gates and lots of cyclists. The other lakeside areas are also car heavy and full of people fishing and tents etc. Could not actually see the lakes properly and definitely not disabled friendly.
We do not drive so we were relying on the mini shop and restaurant. Unfortunately the restaurant did not serve food til 5pm which was also the peak start times of kids clubs/discos etc. We dont have kids. We dont want to eat with all that noise. We did go outside, the lakeview is gorgeous, but you have to access it through the pub. As a mother of an autustic daughter who does not cope well with noise, flashing lights etc the access to outside seating needs to be looked at. Also as a disabled lady the high lip and heavy doors from the pub to the lakeside seating was impossible.
The mini shop closes for 2 hours between 1-3, so again nowhere to eat. No sandwiches or pastries or coffees available, though the website indicates available. Very disappointed. Dogs not allowed in shop but a man with a cat was!
The reception staff, particulary the man was very helpful and gave good advice about the nature walks. I gave him all of the above to pass to his Manager for feedback. No reply as yet.
In all I would not recommend for visitors who don't have own car. Disabled caravan was furthest away from 'facilities'. Good for little kids. Not so much fun for adults with disabilities and dogs. Left a day early. Geese best bit!
Relaxing and well needed restful break!;
We had a lovely, restful week at Broadland Sands. We were really impressed with our clean, modern caravan with everything we needed. The site is kept near and tidy with so many activities for all the family including a climbing wall, swimming pool, crazy golf, clubhouse and shop. There were also a lot of indoor activities for children! The staff were outstanding, warm and friendly. We enjoyed our week so much we booked again before leaving at the end of the week!
Like my caravan nice location always…
Like my caravan nice location always look forward to get down there, staff very friendly altogether a pleasant experience
All ok except ridiculous no dogs in the complex rule
Park ok. Caravan ok. Needed some internal old. Places looking old and tired. Although very clean. No dogs in complex is totally a bad dissension as there is know other venue to visit onsite. Nice outdoor area. But total waste of time if it’s raining. On inspecting the bar and food area myself. There is totally no reason why a dog friendly area can’t be created. Especially as the main entrance to the facility has a tiled floor. Because of this we will not be returning as sometimes we don’t want to travel offsite to find food venues that can accommodate our dog. Prices at the shop are totally outrageous and far to expensive
Great stay At Newhaven holiday park
Great stay At Newhaven holiday park. The caravan was new complete with decking and situated on a new area of the park.
The staff where polite, friendly and most helpful.
The situation of the park was great for exploring the Peak District with all the major town quite close.
Would we stay here again - Yes 100%
Sand Le Mere
Sand Le Mere, it was my first time but no last. Love this place ❤️ Lovely staff, clean, quiet, delicious food❤️
We spent 3 nights at the Albert Holiday…
We spent 3 nights at the Albert Holiday park. The caravan itself was very clean and well looked after. The were a couple if niggly points, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable resulting in terrible back ache for us both. We could have done with some hooks in the bathroom and also some side lamps would have been a plus. Location is good
Only used as a base
Only used as a base, theres no beach, so limited where to go for walks,. did get out a couple of times on the bus to folkstone and Hythe which were beutiful. The caravan was fine .
Staff were friendly and helpful
We arrived late Aug bank holiday weekend and we had an arrangement to pick our pack, staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed at Pake Fields Park. Our Gold caravan was well equipped and spotless. We enjoyed visit to Great Yarmouth beach and other local amusement. The Park was lovely to just relax and rest too. Food was nice from the restaurant. Loved the call from the staff a week before our holiday reminder of what to bring.
Wooden pod in Wood Farm
We stayed in a wooden pod in Wood Farm Park, near Charmouth. Pod was clean and perfect for our 3 day stay. swimming pool excellent, attendants, pool temperature, fab.
Only issue was the shower heads in the toilet blocks were all blocked, in both the ladies and gents, they just need to clean the shower heads, as the water was hardly coming out and what did came out at right angles. Fortunately the showers at the swimming pool were great and we used those.
