Wooden pod in Wood Farm
We stayed in a wooden pod in Wood Farm Park, near Charmouth. Pod was clean and perfect for our 3 day stay. swimming pool excellent, attendants, pool temperature, fab.
Only issue was the shower heads in the toilet blocks were all blocked, in both the ladies and gents, they just need to clean the shower heads, as the water was hardly coming out and what did came out at right angles. Fortunately the showers at the swimming pool were great and we used those.
Not so wheelchair friendly
We hired a wheelchair friendly caravan, wet room ramp etc, on arrival sadly could not enter the caravan with the wheelchair because the door seal was to deep for the chair to get over
A brilliant camp we will go again
Quick and easy booking system, great holiday camp which ensures the stay is worth the visit, the staff are very friendly and helpful. That is why I have booked another break at Golden Sands.
Stayed at bowland fell
Stayed at bowland fell, site lovely and clean, the new pool looked amazing but didnt get time to try (will next time) went to the pub/ resturant both nights food was lovely and good quality for money, we got the little bus that come on site to settle which is really handy to get about great idea 💡 also there is a bus that runs to Clitheroe too, the only moan I have and it's only little moan is that are caravan felt like miles away and was a bit of a trek to the pub not a problem got the steps in, 😀 all in all a lovely stay and we will be back, o and my little dog loved her bus ride and going in pub 😀.
Very disappointing experience
We stayed at the Broadland Sands park.
Very disappointing experience, especially as this was our first visit to the park.
We were allocated a pet-friendly caravan despite never ticking the box. I was told I should have called to say not pet-friendly, which I didn't know, being our first time, and unfortunately the cleanliness was completely unacceptable. There was dog fur/hair all over the rug; the rug was full of dog fur as I swept it. This showed they had not properly swept or cleaned, and the smell of dog throughout the living and dining area was absolutely horrible. The sofas reeked of a strong dog smell.
I completely understand that some accommodation is pet-friendly, but that does not mean it should be handed over to the next guests covered in pet hair and smelling strongly of animals. Humans are still expected to stay there, and the caravan should have been thoroughly cleaned and refreshed between guests.
What made this particularly upsetting was that my foster child is allergic to dog fur and the smell of dogs. The smell was so strong that I had to go to Tesco and purchase sprays myself just to make the caravan slightly more tolerable. My 3-year-old foster child was practically confined to the bedroom because sitting in the living and dining areas was so unpleasant.
I complained to reception and explained the situation. They were unable to move us to another caravan, which I could understand if the park was fully booked. However, what I cannot understand is why nobody was then sent to properly clean the caravan. Not a single cleaner came after the complaint was made.
For the amount guests pay to stay here, basic cleanliness should not be something you have to complain about, particularly when children are involved.
To be fair, the bedroom itself was clean and comfortable, and my foster children really enjoyed the swimming pool, lovely staff too. That was definitely one of the positives of our stay. The children's play area could also do with being bigger, as there were so many children trying to use the limited equipment that they were struggling to get a turn.
Unfortunately, the condition and smell of the caravan overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable first family visit. Being given pet-friendly accommodation that we did not request is one thing, but being expected to accept visible dog hair, dirty floors and furniture, and such a strong smell without even being offered a proper clean after complaining is simply not acceptable.
Pet-friendly should not mean dirty.
I really hope management reviews the cleaning standards for these caravans, because no family should arrive on holiday and have to buy cleaning products or air freshener just to feel comfortable in accommodation they have paid for.
Good value for money!
Unfortunately there was a distinct smell of stale smoke in our caravan. Even with the door and windows open wasn’t enough to get rid of it. Leaving all our belongings smelling of smoke.
We loved the location, we stayed at the Carlton Meres park.
The affordability and the cleanliness of the site was great. Overall great value for money.
The booking system for using the pool at weekends was bizarre, and could be made simpler with an app than having to queue to see the lifeguard at 9am.
We stayed at st Osyth beach
We stayed at st Osyth beach, the staff were so polite in reception it was so lovely, however the oven had nobs missing so it was hard to cook, the restaurant in the bar didn’t have a great menu and they had run out of some of the food, the caravan didnt have any cups for a cup of tea but the staff where brilliant in reception and brought us some straight away, the mattresses needs updating as they were very uncomfortable especially as it was a gold package, I stayed recently in another caravan site and the beds were great even though they was platinum package, the pool was great and the kids loved it and the entertainment lady worked so hard all week, she was great bless her, not sure of her name but she had short hair and didn’t stop working bless her and a great singer she was, the park overall was nice especially the staff made the holiday, just needs afew bits to be updated in the caravans to make it gold package! The internet was really bad especially as you pay £20 for the week

Family weekend away. Good things and bad things !!
We arrived early and were able to access our caravan within the hour, staff were friendly and helpful. Our caravan was clean and well equipped , we also had a high chair and cot , both were spotlessly clean.
We were disappointed that the pool had quite short opening times and had to be booked in advance so our grandchildren were unable to use this due to wanting to explore the area.
We thought the club house would be good for the children to let off some of their energy in the evening and were a little shocked that there was so much time dedicated to adult bingo, so the children couldn’t be involved and some children were even told to be quiet by the hosts, so it didn’t feel very family friendly.
We were also quite disgusted at the state of the bin/ recycling areas, the bins were full and rubbish had just been thrown on the floor, including dirty nappies and eggs.
Albeit , we did have a great weekend. Dawlish Warren and Dawlish Town were lovely.
Steeple bay!
Honestly i LOVED my four day stay when i stayed at steeple bay holiday park, i recommend it to anyone if you are trying to get away for a while but want to stay in the uk, the workers are lovely as well as the food and entertainment. One staff member really stood out to me. Dan/daniel, he was such a joy to talk to and he seemed to love his job, he is such a sweetheart and he made my experience amazing
Had a lovely break
Had a lovely break. Caravan was spotless and well equipped. Staff very helpful. Facilities nice. Only issue we had was the bar prices were expensive
You get what you pay for
You get what you pay for! We went on the first week of September, technically off-peak, but my son was still on his summer break from school. So much stuff was out of stock, no cocktails, no tea & lots of items missing from the menu. One of the entertainment staff sat on a stool to sing, rather than actually perform. At one point, even declaring that "it'd been a hard 6 weeks". Despite being advertised, the one hour of karaoke that was planned, just didn't happen. And once the main event was over, the "Late Night Disco and Party Dances" was an empty DJ Booth, the staff had walked off! The swimming pool has to be pre-booked and the slots fill up fast. We had heard that only one swimming session was bookable per holiday. If this is true, the hight of the season must have been horrendous, a lot of people would have missed out completely. If you want to explore the area, you'll need a vehicle. We had a gold caravan with a balcony, but it was still pretty basic. Having said all this, the caravan was clean, tidy and a little welcome box is left for you, with cloths and enough washing up liquid to get you through the week. The main entertainment centre is fresh and modern, has good facilities and is kept clean and tidy. Staff are welcoming and friendly and the entertainers are very talented.
Pool broke all week
Swimming pool changing area was grotty looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day steam room was broken then after first day pool was shut all week, caravan was clean, but bingo at club house was like a military operation very fast no fun kids couldn't play keep it local to clubhouse dont have every club linked
Not good
I was told it was a gold caravan with 32 inch tv but only had a very small tv and a very small caravan if that was a gold I hate to think what a bronze one looks like
Water rates £800 for a year
Water rates £800 for a year if you are single or family same rate. Staff don’t care long as you pay the £650-850 a month for the privilege of living on a park.
We love Birchington Vale Park Holiday’s…
We love Birchington Vale Park Holiday’s holiday park - lovely friendly staff, we love the lodges and the gold plus caravan’s with decking they are well maintained looked after with mod cons & accessories always immaculate - lovely indoor pool always with lifeguards, great entertainment and food options - pizza’s are great and the food is always hot - we have visited every year where able since 2020 as our family live in Margate its a short drive to Margate seafront and West wod shopping centre.
Highly recommended we give it 5*.
Dispointed.
We arrived on 31aug and was told there be no more entertainment. Which we was looking forward to so we could have nights old very disappointing. So we just seat in caravan which I could do at home swimming pool was supposed to be hot it was freezing. Now come home with cold.the only good thing was caravan
On arrival the first caravan was not…
On arrival the first caravan was not cleaned very well at all so the cleaning supervisor had a look and agreed it was nowhere near acceptable and she quickly moved us to a lovely caravan near the entrance,The 2 cleaning ladies and the girl on reception were fantastic with us and very professional. The Park itself is very nice and the restaurant and bar area lovely with some good entertainment,we were somewhat disappointed that the outside pool was closed all week aswell as one of the fishing lakes and the fact that the whole site is cashless was a pain.
So the site is lovely in a really nice area needs a few more things to do and maybe accept cash
