Great company to deal with. UK based telephone support.

Raised a claim in good faith arising from an ugly incident where someone violently smashed up my bike. I bought insurance to help in times of need, clearly a time of need. I was treated by Pedal Cover throughout with clear distrust, and continuously made to feel like I was somehow trying to be deceitful.

As other negative reviews show, here we have a company dedicated to finding how not honour a claim.

Take for instance Kien who introduced me to the concept of 'calculate the quantum for the claim' - that's a concept of actively seeking the minimum quantity possible while holding uncertainty on any pay-out.

Or Jonathan, who repeatedly reverted to using a robotic tone to recite policy at me, while speaking over me. Who then stated 'we work behind policy', with behind being the key word, clearly exposing the company intent to use policy to avoid helping you.

They are however good at something, and I like to be fair, and that is justifying why they cannot honour a good faith claim while trying to still look just. See the following response from Pedal Cover as a perfect example of that.

I recently had to make an insurance claim for my cargo bicycle, and as it was my first time making any type of claim, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and straightforward the whole process was.

Pedal Cover are one of the few companies who will insure your e-bike, bikes and your home and contents. When thieves cut through my gold standard lock outside my house and took my bike, Pedal Cover replaced it for me. It’s upsetting when your treasured bike is stolen. But at Pedal Cover you get to speak to real people, who give you a personal service, sympathise and get you back on the road. I really recommend Pedal Cover and also now have an even better, angle grinder resistant, lock, a lite lock.

I wanted cover for a set period of 5 days. I entered the dates I needed cover for, paid the amount quoted and was under the impression that I was paying for that period only. It even shows on my policy as with a start-finish date. Then surprise surprise one month on Pedal cover charge me the same amount again. Auto renew on a time limited policy! Feeling ripped off. Im going to try and get my money back but not hopeful.

I’ve used PedalCover for many years now, along with their sister company, Yellow Jersey. When my house was being renovated and empty, I needed to switch to bike-only cover with Yellow Jersey (and specialist home insurance), who were equally excellent.

The customer service from both companies is second to none, by both phone and email. (Touch wood!) I’ve never had to claim with PedalCover, but I did have to claim with Yellow Jersey after an accident, and their support was fantastic... exactly what you need when someone’s injured and an expensive bike is badly damaged!

PedalCover always reply to my emails quickly and in a friendly manner. They even helped me to temporarily insure some borrowed bikes without any fuss.

Compared to standard home insurance with added bike cover, or separate home and bike policies, PedalCover is also highly competitive on price.

Based on my experiences over the last six years, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

I’ve never had to make a claim but they answer queries quickly and provide clear policy docs. Premium cost seems inline or cheaper than others that offer the same coverage

I needed insurance to cover a bike rental while on holiday. A brief call to Pedal Cover where the agent was really helpful and got me set up with what I needed. Price was very competitive and reasonable. Let us get on with our holiday and biking with peace of mind. Would definitely use again.

Easy to arrange bike insurance over the phone with all my questions answered for piece of mind cover.

The experience was great. Price is reasonable and allows a fair amount of customisation (e.g. include battery theft for ebikes). Initially, I couldn't find an email confirmation of my policy, but following advice from pedal cover, I found it in the span folder.
