Horrible pet insurance
Horrible pet insurance. Emailed them twice with an emergency and still 0 response. Makes me wonder how many pets have died because of them.

Oh boy
Oh boy, made a claim recently over an ear infection causing face paralysis on my dog. We recieved and email saying yet again I must look up and send in all his records that we already did years ago. Decided to come here to check out the reviews. I'm saddened to find so many people having the same issue! We will give them a call and mention our findings online here if they continue with these games I will definitely be ending this contract and report them to the BBB on here and will definitely be writing costco about the poor product that they are carrying for costco members. Let's hope this takes a turn. I Will be back to update later.

They dont cover if your pet goes into kidney failure and your left on your own. They didnt even apologize that my cat passed away. Its a new policy every year so its all preconditions

The worst case scenario
As my dog became a senior, his rates increased substantially and I considered canceling his insurance. We've been with Petsplusus for 9 years, and it's been great. The agent told me to think about it, as the insurance covers $1500 per accident or disease. Well, soon after, I found a lump and it was the worst news. We were given a surgery date, and I would have paid anything to have my baby be cancer free, so it was a happy surprise when a good chunk was covered by insurance. And the surgery was a success so my boy is back to being a healthy pup! Thank you, Petsplusus!

They are unresponsive the majority of the time, they never approve straight forward claims and always delay further by requesting irrelevant documentation to delay you further. Further, they punish you as your pet ages reducing coverage and asking for more money per month with REDUCED BENEFITS. Move on, this company is no good.

Just don't do it
Worst insurance company ever! I wouldn't trust them to care for a stuffed toy let alone a living creature. As a vet tech of 14 years I've seen a lot, and my worst mistake ever was insuring my own pets with them. If they're not ghosting you or constantly requesting records they've recieved 4 times already (so they can extend the length of time before payment) they are hiding serious clauses in the small print that you don't get until after you sign up. They will do everything they can to find the smallest detail in wording so they don't have to pay for your pets accident and then play it off like it's no big deal. After months of fighting with them when the only one who would speak to me was our clinics representative, they had the nerve to call and request records AGAIN and specifically told the clinic I work at that they WOULD NOT talk to me about it under any circumstances. Do yourself a favor and find a different company.

Quick turnaround
My 6 year old great dane all of a sudden started limping. After several tests, costing thousands of dollars, they finally found a tumour. Pets Plus Us covered 90% of all our costs, no issues with completing or submitting claims. Also a quick turnaround getting the refund back. Highly recommend. Have had zero issues with them!

Refused to cover our 300$ vet bill…
Refused to cover our 300$ vet bill after paying insurance for 10 years (3000$) and never claimed anything. They say we must provide all breeder infos from 10 years ago and all vet records from 10 years prior. Our breeder retired as nowhere to be reached. They make it impossible to refund people. We cancelled our Insurance with them immediately. Replied a limping dog comes from a disease!!

For four and a half years I have paid…
For four and a half years I have paid pet insurance on my dog and as a senior my dog needs a laxation patella done and your company has refused to pay by saying that because he had his right leg and I payed out of pocket and now he is five years old and you are now saying that it was probably a pre existing on his left leg and also for the visit to my vet to see what was wrong with his leg after he went sliding on the ceramic floor and hurt his leg you are also refusing to pay this bill. You sure have no problem charging me each month for the insurance but you are not there for your clients. I would never recommend your company to anyone as you can see your reviews are not good and your staff is rude on the phone. Thanks but no thanks I have cancelled my policy and hope you can sleep at night knowing how many people you turn down.

A trustworthy company
A trustworthy company, Petplus US helped me covered the emergency expenses when my cat had congested heart failure and ultrasound heart scan and each re-visit of cardiologist, saved me a significant amount of money. However, I wasn't satisfied with their review process for temporary exclusion. Even though my other cat was perfectly fine, they wouldn't waive the exclusion. I ended up having to pay for another blood and urine tests. With the assistance of my veterinarian, I obtained a "no exclusion" insurance policy from another company.

My puppy fell and hurt his leg
My puppy fell and hurt his leg. I took him to our local emergency vet. I made a claim on his insurance policy. It was 6 weeks of free policy from the breeder. I sent the invoice using the format that was provided. The insurers wanted more information that I could not afford to aquire. Hospital records. So the invoice wasn't enough to file the claim so my claim was refused. Just a money grabbing game. I will not be purchasing my pet insurance from this company. If they would have honored my claim the probably would have had a customer. The have to do somthing to earn their fees.

Very helpful team!
I have set up two policies with Tyler now. One for my boyfriend’s dog and one for mine. Each time he was super helpful, patient, and answered all of my questions. Would definitely recommend speaking to him!

Would not cancel the service!!!
Would not cancel the service despite trying multiple times. Kept charging us for months and months even though we didn’t do the assessment or get approved for coverage.
Finally got 1 month back, but not the other countless ones.

Breed Discrimination
So far I have submitted two things for my 6 month old Boston terriers history. Neither of the vet visits had anything to do regarding his breathing. One was for his third set of vaccinations and the second was for a sore he had on his sheath.
Because I had general questions about the breed and Brachycephalic breeds, the vet wrote in the notes "possible elongated palate". This simple note was the reason for Pets Plus Us to exclude anything do do with his breathing. Any Brachycephalic breed has a possible elongated palate. They definitely discriminate against Brachycephalic breeds.
When I called to discuss it, the person on the phone would not discuss it because they did not have the ability to comment on it and I was referred to the member portal to appeal it. Again, this is not an easy thing to do on the portal and again I am unable to speak to someone who can explain this to me. This insurance company is a joke and vet care has gone up exponentially because of these companies and vets being able to claim through them.

All the reviews here are 1000% true. This company is dead set on finding loop holes and ways to not cover your claims. Not only that but they have the Gaul to tell you to just apply for a reconsideration to which there is no use because they will find yet another loop hole to not pay out your claims!
I am dead set on reporting them in every way I can. On top of the fact that I will also be reaching out to as many media companies as possible as the scamming and incredibly dishonest workings of this company need to be exposed!
Do not walk RUN away from this company! Go with anyone but them!!!! Literally ANYONE!
I hope this saves many ppl the heartache and stress this company has caused countless other people!

It would be zero stars if it was an…
It would be zero stars if it was an option. Literally the biggest rip off. I paid into this for 2 years and was never reimbursed a red cent. Final straw was end of November when my dog ended up with an ear infection. Took him to the vet and when answering questions mentioned he had been to a grooming appointment a few days before. I ended up with a $375 vet bill and zero coverage from Pet Plus. I immediately cancelled the policy and signed up with Fetch.

There should be a ZERO star option. I have coverage for two dogs. I paid the monthly premiums gladly knowing I had coverage for my dogs. Well an accident happened. I even called ahead to make sure it would be covered by the insurance. But wouldn’t you know it the first time I needed it, of course there was some fine print that didn’t qualify. Don’t buy this crap insurance. I thought if it was endorsed by Costco maybe it would be good. It’s not. I hope Costco drops them. I am canceling both policies immediately. What a waste of money.
As you can see from the reply to the review they asked for a call to discuss. That went absolutely nowhere. Policies canceled. I hope I can save others from learning the hard way like I did.

They will never reimburse a claim. They will string you along for months. I had 20 emails asking for resubmission of my dogs name, the print was too small, a word was missing, etc. etc, etc. They asked for my bank information to pay the claim and then they deny it.
They never answer your calls . If you finally get through and ask to speak to a supervisor you are told they will return your call in 15 business day!! They all work from their couch so it will hard to get back the customer.
They are a horrible company.

Run, don’t walk, away from this company
1. Update: my opinion and review of the company still stands. However, I was impressed with the professionalism of the Customer Support person I spoke with after I asked the Operator to call the 1800 number.
2. After reading these reviews and the responses from the PetsPlus company, I immediately tried to cancel my new policy. The 1 800 number for Canada does not work - tried 3 times over the last 10 days. 3 emails sent over 1 and a half weeks have gone unanswered. However, the first payment for the policy was withdrawn from my bank account 2 days after I set up the policy. Clearly, money not service and the health of pets is the company priority despite all the sugary sentiments expressed about love of pets.
