Protyre Clive Street Cardiff
I purchased a Groupon voucher to have my air conditioning recharged at a Protyre Centre, choosing the Clive Street branch in Cardiff as it was the closest to me.
Unfortunately, trying to arrange the booking was an absolute nightmare. I attempted to phone the branch numerous times over several weeks, but nobody ever answered. I eventually had to contact another Protyre garage, which didn’t offer the AC service, just to find out what was going on. I was told that the Clive Street branch’s phone line had apparently been down for weeks, with no update provided online, and the alternative number they had been given didn’t work either.
I was then given the store manager’s direct email address and contacted them, but received no response. I had to call the other Protyre garage again and ask them to email the manager on my behalf and request that they contact me. Eventually, I received a phone call and was told that my car had been booked in.
However, when I arrived at the branch, I was told that I wasn’t actually booked in. The staff seemed confused about the situation and questioned who I had even spoken with. To their credit, they agreed to carry out the work that day, although after everything that had happened, I was left wondering whether the service had actually been completed correctly.
What was most disappointing was the complete lack of apology or acknowledgement for the inconvenience caused. The whole experience involved weeks of trying to make contact, being passed around between branches and ultimately arriving for an appointment that apparently didn’t exist.
Based on my experience, I would avoid this branch. If you do use Protyre, I would strongly recommend contacting the branch in advance and making absolutely sure that your booking has actually been recorded.

My 4th time using Protyre Cardiff, and I would have no hesitation in using them again! Fast service, easy process, and they don't try and rip you off with services you don't need. Staff are polite, the waiting area is always clean (and it has a pretty decent drinks machine there too!)
