Having now worked regularly with Providence for over 3 years, I know that their customer service is top among their competitors (big thanks to Jo Mongey for all the help!). Also, after the rework from a few months ago, their portal is slick and modern and has significantly improved client oversight and control.

Highly recommend for a fully open architecture account for international clients
I have been using Providence as one of the first choices of life companies for my clients for 8 years now and would highly recommend.
Quick and efficient, their team is always on call if they need to check anything over for compliance and to make sure clients accounts are set up quickly.
As a European based advisor, it is really useful to have a relationship with an overseas life company with a fully open architecture structure; many of the EU life companies are restricted on investment options so in order to provide full Independent financial advice Providence are one of the best!

Reliable, Efficient and Client-Focused
I’ve worked with Providence Life for a while now, and since their recent system overhaul, the experience has only got better. The new platform is clean, modern, and much easier to navigate for both me and my clients.

Total scam
Started the Providence compass saving plan in 2018 as an expat. Fortunately stopped to pay any more funds into this"growing plan". The money is locked until another 8 years or something until I can get it back without deduction. (Maybe, hopefully, let's see) They promised to create some +5% annually. The performance within 7 years is actually -15%. So, they didn't even manage to cover any inflation. By far the worst investment I've ever made. Absolute scam.
Update: Providence just started to deduct an annual "administration fee" of approx. 1600 EUR in addition to the monthly 40 EUR (considering a total investment of 13000 EUR). This "growing plan" just became even a bigger joke. No plan will actually generate 15% annually to cover these fees. They apparently calculate their "administration fee" according to the total amount that the client claimed to pay them quarterly over the years when the policy was signed. Regardless weather this amount has really been paid or not. So, if you lose your job and can't (or don't want to) give them your money as stipulated in the contract anymore, they gradually take everything you already gave them. I just signed the surrender form since the "administration fee" will get even higher in the future I assume. Got 1000 EUR back, everything else is lost. My advise: STAY AWAY from these criminals

It is clear to me that you are not responsible for the financial disaster caused by the investments suggested by de Vere. Interestingly, de Vere ensures that its advisors rotate so frequently (in my case, four in five years) that, in the end, they claim they are not responsible either because someone else sold those structured notes. In short, no one ever takes responsibility.
It is also clear to me that you charge commissions entirely disconnected from the client’s performance, which essentially results in completely misaligned interests between both parties. While I have lost USD 19K on a single structured note (including accumulated inflation), you have collected over USD 6K in commissions and fees. But in this, you are correct—this is what the contract states, so I am the first one responsible for subjecting myself to such an absurd service. Here, I am simply recommending to all readers that they do not make the same mistake I did and always seek financial advisors and institutions whose commissions are aligned with their performance as clients. Clearly, you do not care whether a client loses money, as you always win. My mistake, as I said. Your abuse.
Lastly, it would be helpful if you could explain why, once the structured note matures, you hold your clients’ funds hostage for an additional three weeks just to process a transfer that should take mere hours or, at most, a couple of days. In fact, you don’t even respond to your financial advisors’ calls or emails, to the extent that the client ends up having to chase after you. As a result, your commissions become even more offensive.
So, dear readers, always steer clear of de Vere and always steer clear of Providence. Find people who make money—plenty of it—always alongside you, and who treat you as you deserve.

un absolute scam!! DO NOT TRUST YOUR MONEY WITH THEM! You just end up paying fees upon fees and more fees and then in the end you get negative growth with your "investment" and if you try to stop it they take more than 70% of your own money. Takes them WEEKS if not MONTHS to respond to any email or question and are very unhelpful. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY OR ANY COMPANY THAT WORKS WITH THEM!!

Not a Good Option Unless You Are Rich
I worked with Providence in 2022-2023. As an expat living abroad, I wanted to start building a pension to secure my future. Providence was recommended by one of my former employers, who, as I later realized, were not particularly reliable for various reasons. At the time, I was 25 and more trusting than I am now.
I began with a €300 premium per month, but the adviser often hinted that increasing the premium would be better. Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford to do so, as I was just starting my career and needed money for other priorities. I also made the mistake of not thoroughly checking the cancellation policy.
When I changed jobs in early 2023 and could no longer pay the premiums, the company strongly encouraged me to find a way to continue until I had contributed €10,000 to freeze the plan. This, they claimed, would establish a "safe" base to resume the plan in the future. I decided not to proceed, and as a result, I lost all the money I had already invested.
In my opinion, Providence might be a good choice if you’re financially secure and can easily afford €300 or more per month without worrying. However, for those with tighter budgets or less financial flexibility, I would advise careful consideration before committing. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend the company.

Dubious security. Asked to provide credit card information by email. When pointing out that it is not secure and asked if they have a secure alternative, the answer was that I can attach the info with a password protected ZIP. Stay away from this company.
