Renewal
As with most insurance companies I can only mention the ease of renewing. The real test will come once I need to make a claim . I trust this good service will ensure the claims process is seamless and timely.

Large increase of yearly premium
Once the claim had been put through it is dealt with quite quickly our vets practice organise it.
The only thing I don't agree with is the large jump in premium each year it virtually doubles each time and as we claim for a pre existing condition we are powerless to move else where.

Went online to find a new quote after…
Went online to find a new quote after my current provider couldn’t provide a better one. Online was fine but I had an issue I needed to discuss and ended up down the AI assistant route. Painful and ended up trying to reach out by email. Waiting for a reply so cannot make a comment either way.

If you have an older dog DO NOT USE
If you have an older dog DO NOT USE. We claimed once in 14 years of my dogs life. The last bill, for instance, was £1290 they deducted £480. You get stung with Excess and 20% off total. It's disgusting. From last year £64.99 a month they increased it to £115!!! You're then stuck as its an existing condition. He has now passed and the only reason why I gave them 2 stars not 1 is because they did pay out quickly. He also had dementia at the end and we were prescribed medication, they wouldn't even pay for this........just be wary.

I wasn't impressed with my renewal…
I wasn't impressed with my renewal quote and when I telephoned to say I could get the same cover cheaper on line I was met with a negative response. I ended up cancelling my cover with you and going through a comparison website. I have a new deal with you at a cheaper price. The new cover I chose ended up being a reduced cover but that was choice, despite the fact I found a cheaper product through you for the initial same product. I would have gone for the same cover I initially had if you had bothered to be more flexible. Less than impressed tbh.

I understand it can be frustrating when you can find cover online for cheaper. This can be for a number of reasons.
A new policy will contain a waiting period before your cover starts and will often exclude any conditions that occurred prior to the policy starting. At renewal, our policy would look to cover conditions that may have been present in the previous term providing there are no breaks in cover

There when needed
Having made a couple of significant claims last year, which were handled quickly, and with my dog having reached the age of 12 I was expecting a significant hike in the monthly premium. While it has gone up in price it wasn’t the large increase it could have been. Very easy to deal with.

Excellent
Insured my dog for over 5 years with Purely Pets. Good competitive monthly price.
I needed to claim for a new illness, hospital and medication expenses. The claim form was easy to summit, it was promptly explained what would be paid, around 80% of the cost was paid back to me within 8days, no fuss. My dog and 2 more emergancy appointments and more medication which again was funded 80% and paid promptly. They always answer the phone and are well trained to deal with questions.
Unfortunately my dog had to be put to sleep. Purely Pets handled it with great compassion, informing the relevant parties on our behalf, auto cancelling the renewal and refunded anything overpaid. I would highly recommend.

Usual story- my dog gets to 10 years old and despite never having made a claim for her the premium goes up to double!
After this dog passes I will just put money to one side for any new dog I may or may not get! It’s a total rip off. Totally unfair
