Purchased Satin Brass fittings and paid £16 delivery, took more time to arrive than is OK for the delivery charge. Arrived and they are labelled Victorian Satin Brass and colour is completely off. Requested a refund, which you have to seek approval first. Returned at my cost dispite the inaccurate images for £23, posted on Monday and delivered Tuesday. Followed up on Friday as no refund, had to provide proof of delivery which I did. Was tlld refund would be sent within 10 days. 10 days for refund is poor form, still no money on day 9. Avoid at all costs.

Thrives. Won't process returns.

Sent off my returns as instructed by them. No one is responding to my email about my returns now. This is theft!!! They have taken my money AND my returned products and no sign of money coming into my account. Frauds, crooks, thrives. Avoid at all costs. I hope their company fails and closes down it's operations.

No refund for return!

Ordered items and they were defective.

Contacted them about the issue, and they set up a return that I HAD to pay for. This should have been provided under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

The postage was not enough and now the return is stuck at the local delivery office of the company.

I have been left without products or a refund.

I am lodging a small claims court case for this.

I can see other reviews mentioning returns and not receiving refunds. Please shop elsewhere.

Absolutely awful service from this…

Absolutely awful service from this supplier. Refused to issue refund when courier stated that they have lost the parcel. Provided all evidences but still refused. Reported through bank to get money back. AVOID!

I searched for ages to find an obsolete…

My husband, Howard, searched for ages to find an obsolete matching switch plate for our kitchen arrangement and Ryan at RS went far above and beyond the call of duty to locate, modify and ensure that this was delivered to us rapidly. We are very pleased with the service and would highly recommend this organisation. Ryan's professionalism, courtesy and friendly disposition is an absolute credit to the RS team!

Zero Customer Service

Order RS50867 - Awaiting for an order now for 3 weeks. Sent numerous emails to no reply, spent hours trying to get through on the phone to no answer. How can you plan a job with customer service like this?

Misleading advertising

Misleading advertising: Ordered VPAB4125BK, received VPAB412BK. Customer service admitted the advertised code was made up. Sent me 2 different products at double the price to build myself.

Unfair policies: Despite sending an item that wasn't as described, they expected me to pay the return postage.

Rude management: The manager, Steven, was totally dismissive and unhelpful when I tried to resolve their mistake and Steven is also now the bias complaint handler.

Verdict: Do not recommend. If they make an error, you will be the one paying for it.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. However, we do strongly disagree with these comments made. Customer service advised the code was created for cataloguing purposes and your order was delivered correctly as per all descriptions on our website.

With regard to the return, we still offer to accept a return at your cost in line with our returns policy.

We also take exception to the comments about our team. Our staff aim to handle all queries professionally and fairly. However, we do not tolerate abusive or inappropriate language toward our team members. During the phone conversation, the tone and language you used were not acceptable, and we will always prioritise the wellbeing of our staff.

We remain happy to resolve this matter with you, but as advised all further communication must be made through written channels.

Order #RS43764

Order #RS43764 was placed on 20th October. The delivery arrived incomplete, with items missing.

I contacted you on 5th November and was advised by Izzy that the issue was acknowledged and that a replacement would be arranged after a stock take, with dispatch promised on 13th November.
That date has passed with no replacement sent.

Since then, I have sent multiple chaser emails on 3rd, 5th, 10th and 17th December. Not one has been acknowledged. The missing items have still not been supplied.
You accepted fault, provided a timescale, and then failed to follow through. The total lack of response since then shows a complete absence of ownership and aftersales support.

This is not a complex issue. It is a straightforward failure to complete an order that you have already acknowledged was delivered incorrectly. The fact that it remains unresolved months later, despite repeated attempts to contact you, is unacceptable.

At this stage, I am no longer asking for apologies — I am asking for action. I simply want my order completed or a resolution provided without further delay.

The way this has been handled raises serious concerns about your internal processes and customer service standards.

Would not recommend this company

Would not recommend this company, made my order on 1st november, no communication until i reached out and was told my items were out of stock even though this was not shown online, no idea of delivery date given, its now been 3 weeks and i have had no response and no idea if i will even receive my goods

Avoid doing business with them!

I order nearly £300 of electrical supplies. I didnt like the colour so I requested a return that was confirmed on 14th April. I then returned the items as directed on 15th April, paid for by me. I am still awaiting a refund I have not received a refund. I have attached images to evidence the return was sent back to you recorded delivery on 15th April and received by Paul on 17th. Could you please provide me with a full refund! I have emailed numerous times and I am just being ignored!

I wouldn't mind but I have repurchased the correct colour I needed on 22nd April and we have still not had any confirmation of purchase from you so we have no products and are nearly £600 out of pocket!!!

I made a mistake on the order and I write a mail to the customer service. They deleted the order and they remboursed me in 3 days. People were really friendly. Selection of products is great.

I should have read recent reviews before purchasing

I ordered all new sockets and switches for my downstairs from RS electrical supplies, however when the items arrived they looked nothing like they did in the images online, and I had opened one item out of the large order to properly see this as the delivery had not been prompt so I really didn’t want to have to return them but the item received was really awful (looked and felt too cheap to use) and so I eventually found the process online for returning items and sent these back at my own cost of £8. They didn’t refund for the one item that had been opened and their customer service has been abysmal. I advised I would be leaving feedback to reflect my experience (still giving them the chance to rectify the situation) and they said they didn’t appreciate the intent to leave feedback - sorry but that is how world works when you are providing a service to customers and I am always more than happy to leave positive feedback when I have a good experience - this unfortunately was not one (check my other reviews - this is my first time leaving a bad review I usually only review when I have experienced great service). My advice would be to avoid and go elsewhere as it’s not like they are the only stockists of their products with the best policies or service, far from it.

Some of the poorest customer service I…

Some of the poorest customer service I have ever received. Failed to let me know an item was out of stock for days and when I called to find out why our order had not arrived was told it was because 2 switches from a huge order were not available til December and so they hadn't sent any of it, or let me know about the missing items!! They then finally emailed to say the switches weren't available and asked if I wanted to keep them on order or not - I said cancel and refund please at which point they cancelled the entire order!! I had expressly asked on the phone for it to be sent next day delivery as the electricians had already had to delay a day because it hadn't arrived when I first ordered. This has cost us hundreds of pounds and a lot of issues with our electricians and builder. Order elsewhere if you can. Absolutely no apology or compensation offered by RS.
