Who we are 

Sedgwick is a firm of loss adjusters and claims handlers who look after claims on behalf of insurers. We work across the UK and have teams of specialists who can work with you to make sure your valid insurance claim is settled.

We look after a range of claims including damage to your home including home emergencies, flooding, storm, subsidence, storm and accidental damage. We will also manage your car insurance claim after you’ve been in a car accident.

What we do 

If you’re unfortunate enough to experience damage to your property or be involved in a car accident your insurer will ask us to look into the claim. We follow the insurer’s guidance and policy wording to establish what’s covered and what’s excluded. If your claim is covered then we work with you to assess the extent of the damage and then put plans in place to ensure the damage to your home or car is repaired.

Should you need them, our expert repair network is on hand to provide a full range of building repair services for both domestic and commercial situations.

Excellent customer service

I received an excellent service from Sedgwick. I was in complete shock when I arrived home to find out I had been burgled. The lock had been smashed out of my back door and it was wide open. I made a phone call to Sedgwick under my emergency insurance cover and they did the rest. A locksmith arrived very quickly to secure my property. Excellent customer services which was friendly, professional and efficient.

The plumber arrived & did nothing saying more work needed doing. Then nothing. A total waste of time.

Efficiently handled by experienced people

Dealt with experienced people who knew their jobs well. Arrived to appointments on time and understood the situation clearly.
Kept informed well as to progress.
A couple of occasions waiting a little long for replies to e-mails, but people busy, so understand that.
When replies received were informative and moved things to an agreeable conclusion.

Sedgwick - insurance claim for Leak in ceiling …

My private property insurance claim was assigned to Debbie Jemson, Commercial Property Adjuster from Sedgwick International UK on 11 December 2025 .
Debbie has been an amazing blessing & tremendous help in assisting me to process and recently bring closure to my insurance claim which involved a leakage into the ceiling of the corridor in my apartment .

Only the 3rd company ( the second of 2 leak detection specialists) I engaged to investigate the source of the leak managed to finally identify the source of the leak.

Debbie handled the entire challenging claim process with professionalism, patience & efficiency . Her service was par excellence . Her response to my emails was without fail, almost immediate , always full of the assurance I so needed during that period when I felt extremely stressed .
I had to leave everything in Debbie’s capable hands whilst I rushed to fly  home (7000 miles away) to help my daughter who was expecting her 3rd child anytime.

Over & beyond all of these qualities, Debbie demonstrated 2 rare but much needed and often ignored soft skills especially in the insurance claim industry - compassion & empathy .

I don’t know what I’d have done without Debbie going the extra mile to follow up eg. helping me to send those email chasers to the relevant parties to take urgent action in the face of all the pressurizing deadlines I had to contend with.

Debbie is  much more than an asset to the  company she works in . 
She is absolutely invaluable & I hope her employer will  accord her due recognition .

Very impressed, so far.

Subsidence claim. First contact was when they rang to explain who they were, and how they would investigate the damage. My first ever insurance claim in my 70 years, so rather worried about the experience! I needn't have been. Spoke to my allocated Claims Technician, Madihah Qureshi, who was 2/04/26, who was very professional, but also kind and patient with all my questions. First surveyor came out on 20/03/26 (an earlier date had to be cancelled due to storms) and was followed up by a detailed letter of explanation. Follow up appointments are being arranged (further investigations as to cause and how to repair), starting on 14/04/26 plus monitoring of subsidence in the following months. I like the company's idea of having an allocated Claims Technician, and much more relaxed knowing I can ask questions without feeling like an idiot. Well done and thank you, Madihah.

Ce sont des incapables, voleurs, menteurs,pensent que les clients ne connaissent pas les lois les droits, ils sont vulgaires,impoli et ne respecte personne, ne font leurs travail aux quelles ont payent ,j ai prévenu mon cabinet d assurance des fraudes frauduleux auquel ils sont spécialisés

Exceptional Service – Special Thanks to Susan McAuley

We recently experienced a very stressful sewerage leakage issue at our property, and our case was handled by Sedgwick.
Our direct loss adjuster, Georgina Harper, managed our claim professionally and ensured the process was moving forward. We appreciate her support in handling the case.
However, we would especially like to recognise Susan McAuley, who truly went above and beyond throughout this experience. From the outset, Susan was incredibly compassionate, responsive, and dedicated. She took the time to explain everything clearly, kept us regularly updated, and made sure we always felt reassured during a very difficult time.
What stood out most was her genuine care and commitment—nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and she consistently went the extra mile to ensure everything was handled smoothly and efficiently.
In what could have been an overwhelming situation, Susan made the entire process far more manageable. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and outstanding customer service truly set her apart.
Sedgwick is very fortunate to have team members like Susan. She is a real asset to the company, and we sincerely hope her hard work and dedication are recognised.

Putting lives at risk

Mid Oct we had a sewage flood, STILL not sorted despite promises that people will come back to me with answers & a formal complaint with Sedgwicks, RSA & Nationwide. I’ve now taken this to the Financial Ombudsman.
My husband had another stroke on Friday & I blame Sedgwicks for the unnecessary & awful stress they’ve put us under. They told me to get quotes so I did and they’d settle, then they wanted me to leave my husband post surgery to meet yet another building surveyor which I refused. 3 people have already been! Not only did they breach the Equalities Act 2010 by denying us a reasonable adjustment not to discuss repair work in front of my husband who had then only just come out of hospital, the adjustor was so rude that my BP shot up to 180/109 and my husband later that day had a seizure from shock, thankfully a man from Revival Blue was here at the same time who witnessed the adjustor being rude so I’ve had an apology from RSA however the claim is STILL unresolved & my questions unanswered.
I found 20 errors in the adjustors schedule and sent that in. No action taken. I asked if they were still working to this for costings. They then wanted yet another new surveyor to come after the quotes went in so clearly that was a yes. I asked when we would get our claim resolved. They can’t say. I can understand if 1 or 2 errors are made in a schedule but 20 is either incompetence which clearly isn’t the case so it’s because the adjustor knew I was going to complain, so he wrote up a totally incorrect & inadequate schedule to sabotage our claim. Several errors are ridculous, like pricing for coving, when our house has no coving, despite them having all the photos from a building surveyor & the adjustor himself. That doesn’t reflect well at all. Not allowing for any carpet removal upstairs, or replacing damaged skirting or floorboards despite all the flooring being flooded by blackwater. Only allowing for 2 sq metres of ceilings to be replaced when it’s the whole downstairs nearly & a partition wall affected & the Housing Act 2004 building regs say sewage damage must be replaced immediately & not repaired so the adjustor would have breached that too. That should have been flagged up. 3 independent contractors said they’ve probably compromised the integrity of the house given the sewage has been left untreated for 5.5 months. They installed a broken dehumidifier which hadn’t been serviced since 09/24 which then flooded out of the front where the electrics are causing more damage and narrowly missed a fire. They expected me to keep the kitchen even though it’s contaminated with sewage which has mould growing in it, even on the dishwasher tablets & I’m fighting to replace. It’s disgraceful & unsanitary especially when I have a daughter who’s immunocompromised & my husband’s had 2 strokes now with CVST remaining. They’ve put our lives at risk & continue to do so.

I am truly sorry that you continue to experience challenges with the handling of your claim. This is not the level of care or professionalism we expect to deliver.

Following your concerns regarding the attending adjuster, the claim was reallocated upon your request, and my colleagues have remained in contact to progress matters. We have also proposed the involvement of our Specialist Care team to provide you with additional support throughout the claims process.

I apologise for the faulty dehumidifier, which was raised with the supplier at the time and subsequently collected from your property.

To address the concerns regarding the original scope of works, your estimates, and the additional damage from the dehumidifier leak, your insurers have agreed to appoint an independent surveyor. They will complete a remote desktop assessment to review the outstanding issues and help move the claim towards a swift resolution.

Great process

I dealt with Sushil for our claim process, he was so professional and dealt with the claim efficiently he really went into detail on how explaining to me how they calculated the payment for the loss of business and made me feel he was dealing fairly for both parties

Quality Service.

My experience with Sedgwick was first class. Rhys the claim handler was most helpful and friendly. The claim was completed and paid within 7 days. I haven't dealt with such an efficient insurer before. Much appreciated.

Poor dealings with this company

Poor dealings with this company, severely underpaid us on our claim, never asked for evidence as to what we were saying just dismissed everything and gave us no alternative but to accept, even though we were at a disadvantage, then the icing on the cake came when we received the sum owed, they'd deducted their clients excess out of our payment, apparently this will be paid by their client separately, as of yet this hasn't been paid with no date to say when it will be paid or who we pursue for this money, an agreed sum is an agreed sum, this is what we should have received in one payment, the internal dynamics of the payment aren't our problem, very bad service

We have now contacted Sedgewicks to raise a formal complaint due no reply from caseworker as to how and when your clients excess is going to be paid to us after deducting it from our payment, which legally you're not supposed to do
