We're a small, family-run business based in West Wales, recycling whelk shells from our family's seafood processing factory rather than sending them to landfill. We crush, clean and dry the shells into a sustainable, decorative product ideal for use in the garden and beyond. The shells are available in various bag sizes from 1Kg to 800Kg bulk bags. Great for; Mulching garden beds. Useful for drainage in plant pots. Perfect as a decorative top layer in containers or pathways. Loved by gardeners for being natural, long-lasting, and slug-deterring.

Its a very new idea to me, to use crushed shells in the garden.
The concept makes sense though and I cant wait to complete the ongoing work on the new garden project, so that I can finally use the shells to enhance it.

Shell on Earth Direct
Buying direct from the company gave a much more economic way of buying Shell on Earth than a garden centre. We have found Shell on Earth to be very effective for protecting our crops and we wanted to buy a larger amount economically. The delivery worked really well.

Arrived promptly
Arrived promptly. The product is as advertised. It looks great on my borders. To conserve moisture and discourage weeds ecologically is our aim. The new weeds show up against the whiteness and are easy to spot and pull up. I have also put some as top dressing on my container plants.

I’ve been ordering crushed welk shell for years and I use it to protect small seedlings from slugs but also as a decorative topping on indoor plants. It’s easy to order and environmentally friendly.
