Excellent service, quick delivery, quality product.

Ordered some western red cedar two weeks ago... had to chase delivery today . Turned up at 6pm - a wasted day haMging around. Wood wasn’t to the standard expected —- 15 boards of the 60 were chipped/ split or had an issue. Some heavy knots in the boards . Planing want great. Not sure the items had been inspected . Box of nails also missing. Not happy. Why do we have to put up with shoddy work?? Did not receive value for money

Been using Silva for several years for mainly Ipe & WRC. Quality is 99% excellent (ocassionaly get a split or badly warped board but pretty rare). Delivery drivers always helpful, very happy to recommend.

Collected some Larch (3rd time purchase) not had any real issues the quality of Larch was very good - small hold up waiting to collect but nothing major. I’ll be ordering again

Used these guys a couple of times - no problems - the products they stock are not cheap but you get what you pay for. The products have turned up on time and in good condition.

Once payment was taken I was left waiting in
the car park for a ridiculous length of time.
When I asked the wharehouse staff wether
my order was coming I was told probably! !!
This not acceptable customer service equally
this is the second time I have purchased timber here . On the last visit I was also kept waiting and eventually when my timber arrived
the same member of staff placed the timber on
the ground and left saying he was too busy to help me load !!

Had I read the negative reviews I might have done myself out of a great service. I ordered WRC shiplap, which was expensive, but was then advised to get WRC TGV, saving me over £1K! Superb quality timber and fantastic Yellow Cedar shingles all for a lot cheaper than I could get elsewhere. Less than half the price in fact. Delivery was on the dot and I've dealt with them since and again had excellent service at a great price. I cannot fault them. !

Service and delivery were good, however the timber was only average. I bought red cedar slatted screen battens to make a fence with. Many of the battens were very bent, and a few were damaged at the ends, not a good look on a fence that needs to be dead straight! Quality is not good enough considering the price.

Unbelievably bad!! STAY away! We ordered cedar corner pieces for pick up, had a confirmation email and then later an email stating the items were ready for pick up on the 6th August. Just about setting off to pick up, give them a call to double check (based on previous awful experience with them!) and told items are in fact not in!
This company is an absolute JOKE! Take my advice and do elsewhere.
Our previous dealing with the company included same thing, lying about delivery dates and stock availability to get you to pay and place an order -only then to not deliver.

Would you believe it?! (Yes you would if you have had dealings with this company) The boards we had paid for was not in stock -so we compromised and accepted shorter boards which would be sent out to us. The boards were due to be delivered today. HOWEVER, mysteriously the boards were damaged in transit and they are now OUT OF STOCK of the boards! So we are still waiting for what we have paid for, for weeks. Lies lies lies from this company is all you get. GO ELSEWHERE

Delivery was fairly smooth but the product was poor. I sent pictures of damaged and bent boards, posts with marks and serious discolouration. I was then called up by the manager who told me the discolouration is normal (funny not present on any of the website photos) and the damaged wood was at the end of the boards so not their problem - I should be cutting off the ends anyway!
Very dismissive response.
Might work for some - was not the case for me - don’t let the nice website fool you!

Excellent experience with both Charlotte and Neil at Silva Timber. There was a slight issue with some wood but it was rectified immediately. Would definitely recommend and use them again. Thanks folks.

Lawrence and team , outstanding service from start to finish,from advising about the wood to having samples of the wood for me to take , i needed the wood quickly and they had it ready and waiting as agreed within a day, all aspects of the service silva timber provide was outstanding , will be purchasing more wood so will definitely be using again . After placing just short of a £2k order, our delivery was promised to us by the end of the week Friday at the latest. Delivery did not arrive until the following day which delayed our project as we had help hired for that time (delivery only arrived the following day because we chased it, otherwise would have been left until 3 days later and Silvatimber were not even aware). We then discovered that Silvatimber had sent the incorrect nails which meant we still could not start our project. We are still waiting for the correct nails to be delivered 4 days later which means we will have been delayed by a week by the time we have everything we ordered (and paid for over a week ago). On top of this, several of the (supposedly premium which batons which we ordered) were delivered damaged, some marked bright blue from the courier wagon (which we have been told we have to sand off ourselves - a joke in itself) and some bowed. We paid £110 for delivery which is a lot considering they were delivered late and in poor condition. I appreciate things like this happen but we have felt that Silvatimber couldn't care less. Repeatedly Charlotte has said they would call back to give us an update and they never do. We end up chasing them. Impossible to get an email back either. We haven't had so much as an apology for all the issues so I definitely would not recommend this company nor would I use them again. Disappointing when you have spend a lot of money.

We planned a new patio to enjoy the Summer which would include Silva Timber decking. We had a significant delay in receiving the order and then the order had to be returned as it was the wrong colour, this meant a further delay. Ultimately, the Customer Service team ensured that the order was recut and refinished and then expedited delivery. The timber product is excellent and we have finally got our deck at the end of July. The dove grey colour we have chosen is true to colour chart and looks smart against our limestone patio. If you go with this company ensure that you order way ahead of when you need it, they obviously have timing issues, and double check the colour upon receipt.

Timber was delivered with excessive shakes/splits and deep planer marks on two sides of some boards I contacted silva timber hoping the might swap 1 or 2 of boards with the worse marks but was told to sand it out if it wasn't for the man I spoke to in complaints Department I would have ordered another £600 worth of the timber and gave them the 2 badly damaged ones back but he was no help at all

We have just used Silva Timber to purchase Cedar wood fence slats for our garden. The build was part of a wider project which we were paying our gardeners day rate for.

When placing the order (which was in excess of £1,000) for the wood, we were advised we would have to wait 15 days and we planned the build of our garden accordingly around this. The day before delivery (late in the afternoon) we were advised that they didn't actually have the wood and we would be receiving only a third of what we had ordered and the rest would come the day after. This was very annoying as our gardeners were trying to complete our build before moving onto a new project. They had saved the installation of the Cedar wood fence for the final day so this last minute change meant they would have to come in an extra day to finish the job.

They installed what they could and we waited for the delivery of the remaining slats - only to be told the next day that Silva Timber still didn't have the wood and would now be delivering the remainder sometime next week!! We complained about this as our gardener would be moving onto a new job and had already waited an additional day for delivery so they promised us the would arrange a delivery for the following day in the AM (Saturday morning).

Saturday morning came - both us and the gardeners were waiting for the delivery. No delivery came. Silva Timber does not open on weekends so there was no one for us to refer to and Silva Timber never provided us with a courier name or tracking number. Our gardener was prepared to make an exception and work the weekend to get the job done (despite Silva Timbers misgivings) but in spite of this gesture of goodwill the fence has still not been completed. He is now working on a new project from Monday and will not be available to complete this job for us for weeks :(

Silva Timbers customer service and supply chain capability is up there with the worst. They over promise - under deliver and accept no responsibility whatsoever for any inconvenience caused by their shoddy service. Once they have your money all customer service goes out of the window and while their website is nice and shiny their performance with regard to rectifying issues is abysmal.

If seeking Western Cedar please avoid this company at all costs and look for an alternative supplier - closer inspection of their delivery terms and conditions include ridiculous clauses such as a) Silva Timber reserve the right to deliver at in point up to 3 months from the date they specify to you and b) they do not pay compensation for any misdemeanour or hardship or delay to your project which is caused on their part and c) customers will be liable for any parking ticket fines or damage to their vehicles that are sustained while delivering their products to you!!

To say I am livid is an understatement -I will never use this company again and I would also advise others not to, particularly if you are working on a project or to a tight schedule. I wish I had read some of these Trust Pilot reviews before opting to go with this supplier.

Used now on two jobs.Both products (yellow balau and Mandioqueira decking) arrived on time and in good condition with minimal defects.

I wouldn't hesitate in using them again for future projects as they seem to have a good selection and stock at a reasonable price.

You can't say this company doesn't go the extra mile, even if their supply and demand figures still don't match up. Having been let down at the last minute with an eagerly anticipated delivery which didn't arrive (about which I wasn't notified) due to lack of stock, and then having compromised on lengths in order to accommodate what they did have in stock, Keith went above and beyond to make good of this difficult transaction and unsatisfactory outcome. It took a while to get there, but he never flagged and I was even given a small discount as a goodwill gesture. People make mistakes but this sort of follow-through commands loyalty and results in repeat business. Am finally a happy customer, and every call I made - there were many - was responded to with outstanding helpfulness.

Ordered online. Few weeks later I get a call back saying they had oversold online and they dont have the timber I needed.
To get it on time for my builders on site, I had to order different dimensions, which meant a bigger quantity than needed and therefore more expensive. No offer of compensation. Quality of timber in general good.

Having spent weeks (long delays in samples), I was first offered a discount but then they forgot to mention the mass hidden charges not listed on their site which effectively doubles the prices you are reading.
