I had a problem with my order of a small amount of cladding and it was sorted out by Barry very quickly. If I ever need to get more cladding I would definitely order from Silva again.

phoned re a large order emailed several times and no reply. this was a 3 grand order and they cant be arsed. Would not deal with them again.

UPDATE: THE BELOW REPLY WAS FOR EFFECT THEY NEVER GOT BACK IN TOUCH EITHER. USE SOUTHGATE TIMBER MUCH BETTER SERVICE

Never used Silva Timber before, bought Red Cedar Wood shingles, service desk were brilliant, helpful and some good user information,

Ordered and paid for the timber on the 30th of August. made 7 phone calls and still not resolved. Last I heard they had sold out of my timber, keep telling me they are going call me back but never happens. Avoid, absolute disgusting customer service, will be the last time I use them!!!!!

We wanted some inexpensive shingles for a garden playhouse. Silva's price on the web looked good, and they gave a very clear description of what to expect with each grade. The grade 3 shingles we chose were out of stock at the time but a couple of phone calls established that they were due in the following week. Once they arrived in stock, we were able to order on line, and they arrived a couple of days later.

As a DIY'er I was uncertain as to what was required to build a porch/wood store at the side of my house. By speaking to the staff at Silva I was able to get good advice on suitable timber choices. The finished project, (Western Red Cedar Shingle roof & internally clad in Siberian Larch) more than lives up to my expectations. Good products, but watch those delivery costs, which aren't cheap particularly if you live in the further reaches of the country (Devon).

First spoke to them 2 months before finally placing an order for some western red cedar as stock levels very low. I was told the 5 metre lengths were available for our order so duly paid and awaited delivery. On the delivery day by 4.30pm nothing had arrived so I called them to be told "did I not get the voicemail?" You can guess my reply? The lady then told me they did not have the stock and there would be no delivery anytime soon. I then spoke to the manager who said "new girl took your order but didn't check the stock levels properly"....... Profuse apologies but still no offer of a rapid solution for us after a 2 month wait. At least we got our cash back. An unreliable and ineptly managed outfit who simply don't deliver.

Very poor customer service on 2 occasions this year. Perfectly nice and polite but no one seems to know what's happening with regard to deliveries and products are delivered weeks later than advised. Would not use again or recommend - too unreliable.

Great products and great customer service. You can't go wrong.

Not cheap and the company's original estimate of my wood requirements was somewhat short and necessitated another order, which at £100 delivery charge is not fun.

No offer of discount for my rather large order but I am happy with the quality of wood. Some of the ordered lengths were incorrect by 10mm or so but overall I am happy. Just a bit picky

Very happy with Silva. I bought some red cedar decking from them for a roof terrace. I bought several times, as we completed the project in several stages. On every occasion I made a call to check sizes, amounts etc, whoever answered the call was courteous, professional and helpful, particularly Barry! The product is very good quality too. The roof terrace looks great. The only hassle was having to go out to Uxbridge to collect the timber as their delivery costs are quite high, but apart from that, it was all good.

I needed decking for my home but as I've never bought or installed anything like this I was looking for some advice too. The website is fantastic, I found a product I liked really easily despite the fact there is so much to choose from - I was not disappointed, the Western Red Cedar is divine and is the jewel in my garden. As for the advice - second to none, do not hesitate to buy from this company, they are the best at what they do!

I have been building a small extension and before Christmas I was looking for wood cladding for the exterior.
After looking at several websites, your site was by far the best and most informative.It gave types, sizes and prices of all available options with pictures of clad buildings to show what the finish would look like. Unlike almost all the other sites, you gave prices to compare each product and pdf downloads which were very helpful.

Then when I contacted for advise, Keri Lane was more than helpful in her advise, offering to work out how many metres I would need if I sent rough plans.That happened to be spot on, so I had enough for the job with a little spare and didn't have pay for extra cladding I didn't need. Finally the delivery driver was also a nice chap and very helpful with the unloading.

So thank you again, because although my order was probably a lot smaller than most of your other customers, your website and staff are a credit to Silva Timber North.

Purchased the Red Cedar Slatted Fencing. Brilliant quality and looks fantastic with great comments from the neighbours. Will be purchasing more slats and posts for the other side of the garden early 2016

Despite only being a DIY customer and not placing a massive order, the service I received was excellent - thanks again to Barry at the Widnes depot.

From ordering to delivery the service was excellent. I only ordered a solar protection paint but if I had wanted anything larger or requiring more technical knowledge I know Silvatimber would have helped. They sent lots of emails to make sure I had the ordered the product I needed. I was very impressed.

From the first phone call, the advice and customer service was excellent. The product was in short supply and on collection was not fully in stock, but on arrival they hand sorted some alternative materials which meant I went away with everything I needed, and the product quality was superb. thank you , I will definitely be back .
