Good platform and council links - bit pricey and no perks
Good platform, very responsive and useful way to link with council funding especially - only negatives are that the fees are relatively high (around 12%) and you can't do "donation perks" which we find are super helpful for crowdfunding pushes

On rewards/perks - we've found they can be burdensome to administer and aren't usually a key motivating factor for people backing community projects. Most supporters are driven by the positive local impact. However if you want to organise your own rewards you are free to do so.
We're glad you received 100% of the funding needed for your project. While fees are included in your target, we understand the importance of transparency around costs.

Avoid
We entered the Spacehive Dublin City Council funding.
The admin for the company made multiple mistakes, declaring the incorrect amount that we would receive and on that basis, we moved forward with larger plans, only to be told after we had reached the target that they had made a mistake.
As we were providing books to donators, we were unable to get any details of anonymous donators and Spacehive wouldn't provide us with email addresses or contact details - and cited GDPR issues which were not accurate.
The details of donators and supporters that we collected, seem to become Spacehives clients and they contact them to promote their initiatives but we cannot.
We have unsubscribed from their newsletters and updates but continue to receive them .

Regarding contact details, we’re unable to share donor email addresses due to GDPR requirements, but we do provide tools so that you can communicate with your supporters. We’ve also ensured you’re removed from our mailing lists as requested.

Great kick start
It was a great opportunity to raise money and have match funding. The website was easily accessible to people and worked really well for us. The only thing that wasn't really clear is the extent of the fees that are charged. Most people who donate don't understand that such a large percentage of the donation is taken by the site. The groundswell of public support is a real moral booster. The site makes it easy to get the message out and get people on board. It was a huge help to get our project off the ground.

The support and service that we provided to help me with my event was very important and I was so grateful that I knew that at any time when I needed them they was there for me.
I feel that this service was excellent, the one thing if I was to say that might help in the future moving forward would be to inform that we have to pay a fee out of what we raise if it was said up front would help
