Appalling costumer service
The most unhelpful, the most rude staff member, bunch if them gathered here and there in the shop, pretending working hard and u ask them a question and they don't have time to help you, younger ones are a bit more helpful than the older ones😒 😤

Poor service
I bought a product and when I got home discovered only half the item had been included. As I live some distance away from the store I tried to phone to get it mailed to me. After endless phone calls and promises to email me or get back to me, still nothing. Staff I’ve dealt with have all been pleasant but why can’t the issue be resolved with one call instead of call centers passing the matter on and then no follow up. One of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had.

i ordered a 240mm Blockout blinds…
i ordered a 240mm Blockout blinds together with pltes and glasses. The plates and glasses got delivered, the blinds were not. it’s been 3 weeks and i get no response from a non-existent customer service. My partner even contacted the courier to make sure that it wasn’t a courier mistake. i asked for the refund and it still hasn’t been issued to me! Please don’t buy from this store. Shoutout to Catch, Amazon and Kmart for outstanding customer service!
Disappointed with Spotlight
Ordered an electric blanket online, next day I had an email from spotlight to say unable to fulfil and a refund was given. Yesterday spotlight asked me to review the item, so I put disappointed and just said as above, order cancelled by spotlight as unable to fulfil - received an email today to say my review didn't meet their criteria so it would not be published. Shame on you Spotlight, I was just letting you know I was disappointed, absolutely nothing wrong with that sort of feedback.

SPOTLIGHT GIVES NO CUSTOMER SERVICE
In 9th august I ordered $182 worth of fabrics which was confirmed with tracking number for Australia post. Today I received FINAL NOTICE FOR CLICK AND COLLECT. contacted McKay store and was given customer service Number. All fabrics ordered were for an upcoming project. I live 200 km from McKay so impossible to get there. WHY WAS THIS MADE CLICK AND COLLECT. I ordered for online delivery and cannot see why those fabrics in McKay could not be posted on. No one could give me any resolution. SPOTLIGHT HAS LET ME DOWN. HOURS SPENT CHOOSING FABRIC TO HAVE THIS DONE. WHY??????

We had our blinds custom-made, and they weren’t exactly as I was hoping, and Spotlight did the right thing and took them back and adjusted them to suit my requirements. This kind of responsibility for work being done is rare these days and so I highly recommend their services.

Made to measure curtains- DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME
After ordering curtains for 2 extra large windows 5 months ago I am still waiting for them to be installed. They were ready after 3 months of placing the order but when it came to them being installed the order was incorrect. They went away for reworks came back a month later and were still incorrect. Spotlight was very quick to take my money and not so quick to install my order. I have been informed they are now ready again but can’t be installed for a further 6 weeks. Customer service is awful. No one keeps you informed of what is going on. I have been passed from this person to that. If you are looking for curtains to be made and installed in a timely fashion look else where, don’t waste your time and money with spotlight.
Steer Clear Spotlight for plantation shutters
During Spotlight sale I requested a measure and quote for plantation shutters for 4 rooms and curtains for large loungeroom sliding doors.
Firstly, quote incredibly confusing, had to keep asking for clarification and still confused. In the end we accepted quote and hoped for the best.
3 Feb 2023 paid 50% deposit, advised shutters would take 3 months.
May 2023 we were notified shutters were ready to install, remove all existing window dressings ready for the installer. We did this the day before. Puttied and painted over previous screw marks - all ready for our new shutters. We were excited and all set.
Installer arrived on time but the only shutter that fit was the bathroom, the 3 bedroom windows did not fit. Our windows are standard sizes, so go figure!
The Installer advised he would need to re-measure and take these ones back. What??? We did as we were asked and removed all existing blinds and curtains and disposed of them. Installer suggested I ring Spotlight Morayfield.
The lady I spoke to in curtain and shuttter department advised it was not their problem. The blinds come through a third party and are made in China. When I pointed out we ordered the Shutters through Spotlight Morayfield and not a third party she left message for manager to ring me. In the meantime the installer was reasonable, told me not to worry, they would be replaced but would take another 3 months. He was able to bang the shutters into the window frame with instructions not to open them but we at least had window coverings.
Manager Morayfield did apologise and promised the order would be fast-tracked. I asked if new order would be coming from China and it was confirmed yes. We did not receive an email confirmation and all we had was her word shutters would be replaced. Concerned I later rang and she send an email confirmation. She refused. So we had nothing but their word and it was going to be another 3 months! What's wrong with an email confirmation? Morayfield Manager did say she would ensure we would be given something for all our trouble - surprise, surprise, that never eventuated.
Another three months go by. Installer returns, new shutters fit, however, there is a serious manufacturing flaw in one of the shutters. Installer left a couple of good shutters from shutters he removed on the promise he would come back and replace. That was about a month ago. We have had no phone call from Spotlight Morayfield confirming this, no communication whatsoever. I will give it another month then with all my strength I will ring Morayfield shop again (if they answer - very rare) and see what, if anything, they are doing about the faulty shutter.
We suggest you steer clear of Spotlight's Chinese shutters that we paid a small fortune for and do not expect any customer service whatsoever. On checking price we paid for our shutters with other suppiers and installers, our shutters were NO BARGAIN, not even on their supposed sale.

My experience with Spotlights' customer support team was incredibly disappointing. I encountered a serious issue with my order - my money was deducted, but the order didn't process, and the problem still hasn't been resolved. To make matters worse, I was told they won't protect customer rights, despite admitting their mistake. I spoke with Mary and her supervisor, Shirley, but they couldn't resolve the matter. Shirley's rude and unsympathetic attitude left me feeling frustrated and unheard. The conflicting information between Mary and Shirley only added to the frustration. Spotlights urgently needs to improve their customer support training to ensure a better shopping experience. Sadly, this experience has greatly impacted my perception of the brand, and I hope they take customer feedback seriously to make necessary improvements.
Incredibly rude service
The most rude and terrible customer experience I have ever had! No empathy from the staff and they accused me of making a mistake after they repackaged items with missing parts and sold them as brand new. Workers Jess and Zara should not be working there. Please avoid at all costs!

Today, Theodora served me at Spotlight Carnegie fabric department. Her service was exceptional. She was very knowledgable and happy to help me with my sewing enquiries.
I ordered online
I ordered online, the products came in 4 separate parcels on different days. They said it was not in my local store which it was when I looked. I returned all the products they arrived dirty and really bad conditon they were cushion. Notwithstanding Freedom has cushions for the same price and slightly better quality. Spotlight charges top dollar for really badly made products. It should shut down.
A very pleasant customer experience after a long day at work
It was after a long day at work with not much energy left, having no clue of how on earth I could get the right type of material for a class project, I was quite panic thinking I won’t make it before the store closes at 6pm.. Charlotte at Hornsby store came to the rescue - - she explained well what was required according to the sewing pattern, very patiently helped me with working out the fabric measurement part and had all the other items ready on the table for me very efficiently. With Charlotte’s help I was able to make the right purchase with great peace of mind. Thank you so much Charlotte at Hornsby Spotlight store for your exceptional customer service~! Asset to Spotlight~!
Scammers
Been shopping with Spotlight for decades but their organisation is atrocious and their signage often missleading. Latest over charge was when I went in-store because of special seen in catalogue. Sign over the fabric stated same special. 5 fat quarters or lengths for $15. Grabbed 10 and 2 other things at $10 each.... their point of sale total came to $95. Queries amount. 20 minites later after things were taken off and put back on refunded $25. Well decided they could keep the $20 overcharge but won't be back.
Why bother....waste of time
Tried to click and collect and like others forced into delivery on fine print over low stock in store as customer care read to me over and over till my brain started to bleed. Delivery was bulky item and came to a third of the total cost. Items were $360, delivery $120 extra. But the icing on the cake is the items were available for click and collect and were sent for delivery anyway from a store less than 5km away. But thats not all. Their partners in crime Allied Express picked up the items 2 days later and took them to Sydney, 400km away, remember they were only 5 km at the start. The whole delivery took 8 days. Oh, and I forgot the customer "not" care team. No interest shown, no care given, no support provided. Ended up "escalating" to orders team who, yes you guessed it, still have not replied. I would have a better experience dealing with a rock. Well done Spotlight. Another poor service experience chalked up, supported by the equally useless allied express. The only way to show them its not acceptable is dont shop there. The embarrassing rating says it all. I do want to say the manager at Tamworth store was a supportive lady who genuinely wanted to help me but had not support from the other service departments. My thanks to her for her efforts.

Ordered quite a few items, got most from one store, two from others, all arrived very quickly - 5 to 6 days from order (and I'm in a rural area), in good condition and with free postage despite them having to split the order to supply. Accurate tracking to my email. Also 40% discount on dearest item, and nearly every item had a discount applied. Am very pleased. Order before this was just as good. Well done Spotlight.
