DO NOT BUY LEAP V2 OR ANY CHAIR FROM STEELCASE
I purchased a brand new Steelcase Leap V2 directly from Steelcase for over $1,100 expecting premium quality and service. Instead, the chair arrived from the factory with a staple protruding through the upholstery and overall workmanship that was far below what I would expect from a company that markets itself as the gold standard in office seating.
The most disappointing part has been Steelcase's response. While they acknowledged the defect, their proposed solution was to send me through the warranty process. This is a chair that was defective on arrival and reported within days of delivery, not a chair that developed a problem after years of use. As a customer, I find it unreasonable to be directed into a warranty claim process for a brand new product that never should have passed quality control in the first place.
When you spend over $1,100 on a chair, you expect meticulous craftsmanship and a company that stands behind its products. Instead, I received a defective chair and was left fighting for what should have been a straightforward exchange.
For a company with Steelcase's reputation, this experience has been incredibly disappointing. Based on the quality of the product I received and the way this situation has been handled, I cannot recommend purchasing directly from Steelcase.
