I had a very mixed experience with Swim Now Manchester.
On the positive side, my swimming instructor, Poppy was absolutely incredible. She deserves a 5 🌟 rating. She was very patient, encouraging, professional and genuinely made the lessons enjoyable. The quality of teaching was the best part of our experience, and I would happily recommend Poppy personally.
Unfortunately, my experience with the administration and cancellation process was very frustrating.
I won't go into much details now and the issue has now been resolved, but unfortunately a much lower rating for the administration and communication around cancellation. I hope Swim Now can improve the clarity of their cancellation/hold policy so customers are fully informed from the outset.

Jasmine is an absolutely amazing swimming instructor! When my daughter first started swimming, she was really scared of the water, but Jasmine has been so patient, encouraging and wonderful with her. It’s been wonderful to see the change in her confidence, and she now absolutely loves swimming and looks forward to her swimming lessons.

We had a great experience with Fran! My son is a little shy by nature, so I was initially concerned about how he would feel during the lesson. However, the way Fran interacted with him was amazing. She was so friendly, patient, and encouraging, and my son absolutely loved his lesson.

Even after the lesson finished, he wanted to stay in the water and practise more! 😄

Goal achieved for me! On the way home, he was already asking me to book him in for the next session tomorrow! 😂

My child's previous swim school closed down at fairly short notice and I was worried how my daughter would adapt to a new teacher but I needn't have worried, they hit it off with Elise immediately. She always makes sure there is some time at the end of the lesson for the kids to choose what they would like to concentrate on too or let them choose a game to play, not just telling them what is next. Elise has built a great relationship with my daughter which in turn encourages her to want to go every week, tired or not and she is always looking forward to the next lesson too. She is making great progress and has really gained confidence in the water.

My 6 year old daughter has been having lessons with Jasmin and her confidence and skill have improved immensely, she had group lessons before and was getting worse, wouldn’t put her face near the water - now she is wearing googles which before she hated and is putting her whole face in. What is really nice is she is now excited for her lesson with Jasmin every week

A big shout‑out to Liam at Swim Now — he’s an excellent swim trainer who played a huge role in my development. I had a rare challenge where both the mental side of swimming and the kicking technique felt almost impossible for me. But week after week, Liam stayed positive, patient, and determined. He never gave up, kept motivating me, and adapted his usual methods until, finally, I was able to kick my legs with confidence. It's a slow journey but I will make it to swim a length of the pool.

I am currently having swimming lessons with Jenna and she is wonderful! She explains everything is such detail and removed any nerves I had about learning to swimming. Would 100% recommend :)

We had swimming lessons for about 8 months with Ben.
These are massively provided that boost of confidence my boy needed and provided much enjoyment on a Friday evening each week.
Ben was kind, a good teacher and helped my son establish a good basis on which to improve.
Would highly recommend Swim Now.

I am having lessons with Phoebe in MK and thoroughly enjoying them. Phoebe is lovely, very patient and professional. Her teaching style is brilliant and I am progressing with my technique and confidence in the water.

We couldn’t be happier with Francesca at Bannatyne Chafford Hundred! She is an absolutely fantastic swimming instructor – so patient, encouraging and genuinely wonderful with my son. He has grown so much in confidence and is always excited for his swimming lessons, which says it all!

Francesca has such a lovely way of making every lesson fun and enjoyable whilst still helping him make brilliant progress. It’s clear how much care and attention she puts into each session, and we really appreciate the encouragement and confidence she gives him.

We feel very lucky to have Francesca teaching our son and couldn’t recommend her highly enough. Thank you, Francesca, for being so amazing with him!

Great service. Always responds to your calls and accommodating. Jenna the instructor is very professional and positive, warm and personal . I totally recommend to anyone who wishes to learn swimming.

Phoebe is an exceptional swim coach, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed with her approach. My son looks forward to every lesson and really responds well to her teaching style and organized session structure. What stands out most is her focus on proper technique across all strokes, she strikes the perfect balance between keeping the environment encouraging, fun and pushing him to refine his form, technique, build efficiency and drop bad habits early on. It’s rare to find a coach who makes hard work so enjoyable, and we couldn't be happier with his progress.

Since starting my son’s lessons ( who is a 3 and half year old) the instructor has cancelled 30 minutes before his lesson twice , cancelled one lesson on the morning of his lesson and not arrived at the pool once . Made a complaint and received a response of , lessons can be credited and I am unable to cancel my contract until 3 months for my young child . This company is a disgrace and they have no regard for a young child who again is upset.

Amazing adult swimming lessons from Max - very patient, and encouraging giving clear instructions. Also understanding of nervousness of water! Thank you. Would recommend.

I booked a trial lesson by phone. The session was cancelled.
I asked for a refund. They have ignored my request.
Think twice before using this service.

AVOID this company. We started swimming lessons for our daughter with a great instructor who then ended up going off sick. Despite the instructor telling Swim Now, they didn’t let us know so we turned up to a lesson with no instructor. They then continued to take substantial direct debit payments from us despite saying these had been paused. Hundreds of pounds paid and only 1 lesson actually received. I requested responses in writing to all of my correspondence and this was avoided every time which all seems a bit fishy to me. Despite numerous chasers, I am yet to receive any apology for their appalling service.

Our 2 boys had 13x 2:1 lesson at Grove Park. A big financial investment. Other than slight improved confidence in the water, we have nothing to show for it. They seem to have been taught a weird mash up of front crawl and breast stroke. When I asked the teacher what stroke she was teaching them she shrugged and said we don't teach strokes at this stage, we just focus on the swimming a length (but in what stroke? It made no sense!). No feedback after sessions even when I ask over Whatsapp. Teacher cancelled a session then was surprised we didn't show up (apparently a substitute teacher had been arranged but this wasn't communicated). We asked for a refund for this session and got it after several emails and phone calls but not the correct amount. Do not recommend.

Not great.

I was not going to write the real experience but felt it important to raise awareness. As a teacher, you are not entirely self employed, a lot goes on behind the scenes, you work with a team and they really lack communication skills.

I left not long after I began. You have your own clients but have no control. A job yes, but not ideal. The pool was not appropriate for 1-1 lessons.

Pool was at standard, freezing cold for the kids, so much they'd turn blue. Awkward set up with pool layout. Highly priced for clients with a standard experience.

Clients would give feedback to the booking staff but the team would not communicate or relay information over, even when asked politely for constructive criticism (which is essential for character and career growth), so it was awkward and frustrating.

After reviewing and thinking about the experience, I would not work for them again.

My seven-year old granddaughter has been having lessons with Alex who is a brilliant teacher.
Alex is not only a very skilful teacher but inspires confidence and trust. I have recently had four refresher lessons with Alex as I haven't done any swimming since learning when I was fifty. I'm now back in the water 22 years after learning. Thank you Swim Now and in particular a big thank you Alex.

Amazing teacher I wish my daughter had him before.
