Appauling situation. I have been locked out of my Teacher pension account for weeks and I have tried phoning without answer. I have spent wasted hours on the phone with an insane hold tune for company. I have tried resetting online over 100 times without success and their website has no means of contacting them to raise a complaint except for post. THIS IS 2025 and you should be ashamed.

Utterly incompetent. I get a email telling me of a very important message on line. Somehow I cannot sign in. It fails to recognise my password. The reset system tells me I have been locked out. Phone up and because I cannot tell them the month I retired over twenty years ago they refuse to help. They tell me to look at letters from them. I went paperless years ago. I have had to write to ask them to reset everything. I’m not holding my breath.
Capital are utter clowns who couldn’t manage their way out of a paper bag.

Spent well over an hour on the phone only to speak to an 'advisor' who sounded uninterested and who actually gave me the wrong information. I'm also waiting for a response I made to a complaint in July 2024. The level of service from these people is appalling.

Awful, even by the debased standards that Crapita are famous for upholding. Website now contains no useful information, the service is in a mess, and the communication boils down to a series of excuses. ‘We are sorry if, having paid your pension for decades, you were expecting some money. Or even the promise of money. We cannot provide either. But you have to understand that pensions are complicated things. So complicated that they clearly beyond us, a contracted arms’ length service whose expertise rests chiefly in shifting blame elsewhere in the system. So we won’t be paying out any time soon, we won’t tell you when you might expect some money, nor how much you are due. It’s really so complicated - did we mention that? So nobody has any idea whether the amounts involved are right or wrong in any event. Thank you for your patience in this matter.’

Absolutely disgraceful, unacceptable organisation with NO sense of duty of care for their members. Appalling wait times to talk to an advisor, difficult to login procedures. NO updates on progress of Transitional Protection payments which have long past their 90 days initial date for payout. No advice given, very difficult to understand information regarding options.

You are a disgrace, ignorant and I do not need to write a thesis on the manner in which your organisation conducts itself. You should read the reviews and take note. However I doubt tha you are able to read and comprehend the criticisms levied at your pathetic excuse of an organisation. Repeatedly I have been ignored, information given not attended to despite conversations and responses in writing. You sicken me!

This is a government disorganised service with no accountability to its customers. No customer complaints procedure. No inspections unlike schools. I have written to my MP about this appalling service. Suggest the rest of you do the same until someone takes this bull by the horns. If this was a private company they would have been sacked. Capita is also selling out to TATA so the service will only become more detrimental to all teaching staff.

I find these reviews really extraordinary, if we had this low level of rating in our schools the department for education would waste no time in stepping in and taking action! Yet here we are forgotten and considered unimportant despite years of service ! I wonder if politicians pensions are as inadequate! Everything you read about the RSS statements is followed by excuse after excuse and still no sign when we will be paid our money ! The deadline has passed by a long way so no regard for the court ruling either! It would be refreshing if someone with some influence actually read these reviews and got this resolved , preferably before we die.

An absolute disgrace. Incorrect information regularly given to me and that’s when I can speak to someone, this also changes depending on who you speak to. The whole scheme is not fit for purpose.
No response to complaints and no real understanding of literally having no money coming in.

Not fit for purpose. No reply to messages and no movement whatsoever on retirement claim. Am owed a lump sum and have no idea when it's coming . You can upload many documents - site is archaic . They don't respond to complaints and are keeping money which people are legally entitled to .

Where do you start? My wife retired in 2019 and is still waiting for her RSS. During the affected period she paid over £12k into the system with no indication of when we will hear anything. When my father died 4 years ago, of all the organisations we had to contact the TPS were by a million miles the least sympathetic. They are, of course, run by Capita so we should not be surprised. Now we know they are being taken over next year we can probably expect them to do even less than they are at the moment as they wind down their operation. Hopefully the new administrators will be better, hard to see how they could be any worse.

There's 'useless', and then there's Teachers' Pensions. Almost an hour's wait on the phone, only to be then informed that their system was down. So nothing doing. Breezily told to ring back later. Well why not. Spend a few more quid, wait another hour on hold. Who cares. Well certainly not TP. I thought they were hopless last year, yet twelve months on they're even worse. All this rigmarole just to let them know I'm still alive; the dreaded 'change in circumstance' letter having its annual outing.

Teachers Pensions are not fit for purpose. Underfunded and understaffed. Still not received my RSS to address the McCloud ruling, despite multiple promises and timescales that have all fallen by the wayside. The government is partly to blame for this, of course, but couldn't give a monkeys.

After receiving my RSS I am still waiting for my 18K to be paid. This was supposed to happen within 90 days and it has now been 9 months since I sent my form back. I have made complaints to teachers pension and to the DfE but they just give the same standard reply. Disgusting treatment of people who gave their all to educating children during their working life. A real kick in the teeth!

I taught for a short time , for a university as a associate lecturer and at college as a lecturer. I am a nurse and decided to return to nursing. With only 10 months teaching I decided to withdraw my pension payment and reinvest. After four months and a complaint I received a reply stating that they hadn't received information from my employer over my pension payment and they can't do anything. Except, they have in black and white all monies taken . Again it's up to your employer I stated that I left as can be seen four months ago. There response in a passive aggressive letter there hand were tied until they hear from my employer. My ex employer stated not recieving any correspondence from TP and they have all the information. But TP refused my refund and state they are within their rights . I have no idea what they want or what I can do

Negative stats.
Like many others I am waiting for my RSS payment. Choice wax sent back promptly in Feb 25. Owed approx£3k of my hard earned money. Chased numerous times with no reply. Complaint sent with no reply. The 90 working days wait for payment has come and gone. The 15 working days for reply to complaints had come and gone. I did get an automated reply by email stating my application would be processed in 10 working days and that had come and gone. Difficult to contact and no helpful answer as to when to expect payment when you get through. Absolutely appalling service. Not fit for purpose.

After more than a decade of regular pension being duly received Capita deemed me to be deceased and abruptly stopped my payments. No warning given. I went without any money for a week, missed appointments and a funeral. They had confused me with another person who had died. This despite unique National Insurance, Teacher Registration, date of birth and address. No trouble taken to check. No duty of care. I reported the missing money to the police as a theft. Called by Capita the following day. Money paid the day after. No guarantee that this will not happen again though. And so I email Teachers' Pensions prior to pay date every month to remind them I am still not dead. And intend to remain so for the foreseeable future. This November marks the anniversary of my experience.

TP are an utter disgrace. What a shambolic and chaotic pension provider. They don't reply to emails, they don't reply to complaints. In any correspondence they ignore important queries. I've had to escalate my complaint to the DFE and fully expect to have to take it the ombudsman. They have caused me serious stress and anxiety and yet seem utterly unaccountable.

Teachers pensions are now going to be in operation by Tata IT (an Indian IT company based in Mumbai where most pensioner hackers are based). WHY has this been even considered!! I am a retired teacher for several years now. I feel like we are being offered up to the lions to lose our pension funds to possible fraudulent groups, who will be able to access all our details , bank accounts etc.
A very worried person. ( We were not even consulted!)
