Brilliant company, fantastic wood couldn't be more helpful. We are really pleased with our wood and our project looked awesome when it was finished.

We were so impressed with the service from Timberulove. Our original order arrived promptly and was delivered by a really helpful driver, and then when we discovered there was a mistake on the order (which was completely our fault, not theirs!) they resolved it promptly and fairly. The larch we ordered is great quality and we're really excited to install it for our client. We will definitely purchase from this company again.

Re stain… red cedar stain looks particularly amazing on battened fence,perhaps slightly too brown for me as cladding,but that’s a personal preference…I definitely recommend,thank you !

Good points -
1) Decent prices
2) Good range of sizes one of few companies that do up to 6m.
3) No issues with refunds in past for wrong wood or badly damaged wood.

Bad points
1) Moisture content - often wood is soaking wet, as you drill it or bolt into it water comes out like a sponge. I cannot believe for a second its the 14-18% moisture content they state, I certainly don't burn any off cuts on my stove without seasoning for a year first!
2) Shrinkage - probably related to point 1. I built an outside building and cladded with the tongue and groove larch cladding. Despite tight joints when installed it has now shrunk by over 1/2 an inch per board in width meaning there is daylight between the panels. Had I not put an internal OSB wall too it would have made the building unusable.
3) Often with the sawn timber contains significant parts of bark rather than heart wood, these parts will ultimately fall away I have found giving an irregular edge and reducing the strength.
4) Communications around delivery is the main negative. I don't think an order has ever arrived on the first delivery date given, annoying when you take time off work to be in. Also frequently doesn't show up on the re-arranged second date either. You have to chase them to get a date and the waiting time was months for my last 2 orders. Its not a recent or 'COVID' thing its been like that for years in my experience.

I have ordered 4 or 5 times now from this company but I generally advise ordering extra to allow for wood arriving damaged or not useable and also not assuming your wood will arrive any time soon.

*Updated after response from Timber u love. After I left my review I was contacted by this company and offered a refund to change my review. I said I didn't want refunds as I used the timber despite its poor quality, but as it was a fair and honest review I wasn't changing it. I sent photos to them at their request to prove all my comments true. They claimed the long delays on delivery were due to their courier... but this wasn't true as whenever I have rang after missed delivery dates I was told the wood was not ready then was usually given a date several more weeks later. I only ever recieved 1 order on the first arranged delivery date. I waited in on 4 other occassions only to be stood up. One of the problems with not being given an accurate delivery date is that you can't be in to check the quality of the timber on arrival. Hence accepting the inferior pieces as I couldn't wait 2 months again for a replacement.

I used all my timber within a few weeks using stainless steel fixings. To try and blame me for 'not storing it correctly' is the exact trick they tried to dismiss other unhappy reviewers with. And ironically I told the man who rang me asking me to change my review exactly this point. Their refusal to acknowledge their own failings when I read other reviews that chimed with my experience is why I felt compelled to leave my own review in the first place. My review is not based on a single order 18 months ago. But is a summary of my experiences over 4-5 orders over 3-4 years. And I left it only when I read their shameful responses to other reviews on here I came accross by chance one day - hence the delay between my last order and the review. I simply want them to take responsibility for their occassionally inferior wood and frequently delayed deliveries rather than blame their customers and gas light people such as myself. 80% of the wood they send is good hence why I was a returning customer until this point. But I will not be ordering again after their response to my feedback.

Very poor product, clearly no quality control before delivery, if buying Larch cladding take into consideration you will need many hours of sanding to get a half reasonable finish.

I desperately needed an order urgently , I was phoning round and getting nowhere with no-one really willing to go that extra mile until I spoke to Timberulove. They were really helpful and went out of their way to arrange my order for delivery practically immediately, giving great advice and info in the process. Highly recommended

My initial communica­tion through the sal­es process was posit­ive, the problems ar­ose from the day of delivery.

Firstly the cladding arrived on a large vehicle with no adva­nce warning of its arrival. When i was able to get home to inspect and put the cladding away I found that some of the ti­mber was wet despite the fact it had not rained and a large number of the boards were heavily knotted and certainly not 'A grade'.

On the 16th September I sent an email re­garding the poor qua­lity of the timber, having received no response I phoned to chase this up, it was eventually agreed that I would keep the better boards (aro­und half) and that the rest would be col­lected and replaced for new boards by the end of week commen­cing 27th September.

I requested numerous updates but email communication never received a response and a phone call was the only way to comm­unicate although not necessarily product­ive.

When the cladding was eventually replaced (3/12) there were still a number of bo­ards that were not of a satisfactory sta­ndard, where possible I used these in cu­ts but i have a shor­tfall to complete the project.

Again on the second delivery (which arri­ved without the requ­ested eta) the siber­ian larch corners fr­om the original order were still missing, I chased this up and was eventually ad­vised that they would be delivered on the 29th/30th December some four months af­ter being ordered (o­rdered 19/8). In ord­er to complete the project I asked if it would be possible for me to purchase the remaining cladding boards required to replace those of poor quality and have these delivered at the same time as the corners. I was told that this would not be possible unless I paid a delivery fee of over £90!

I would advise again­st using this company as they offer a po­or quality product with poor communicati­on and poor customer service.

21/1 Timberulove should be embarrassed with their response to my review, 21/1 my sales order from them clearly states that the cladding ordered is Grade A.

So I had left a negative review for timberulove because there was a confusion regarding payment for my materials on their website the owner of the business kindly rang me back and we were able to work things out sensibly to allow me to pay for my order I thought it was extremely kind of the owner of the business to make the effort to contact me I shall leave a further review once my materials have been delivered

Good price and excellent customer service. The wood is excellent as well. I couldn’t get it anywhere locally for a decent price. It takes a while to come but then that’s made clear when you order. Delivery drivers are great to deal with as well. Highly recommended.

We have used Timberulove twice to purchase Siberian larch, initially to clad outbuildings and the second time to clad our house.

We are extremely pleased with the service given and the quality of timber supplied for the price.

Tadas has always been helpful and offered advice and James has been responsive.

All in all a good experience.

Placed a order of larch was meant to drive down on Thursday 30th but van had to go in for mot phoned them and explained about van and asked if I could come on Saturday he told me they where closed I’ll get back to you and 5 min later got a call saying yes but I’ll have to be there for 3 I drove down from Edinburgh got there at 3 and all credit to the yard man he had 25m2 all ready for me helped me put it on to roof of van and helped me make it secure as I had a long drive home I highly recommend them as the price is unbeatable compared to other companies and for the man in the yard on his day of opening up at 3 can’t thank him enough will definitely do business with them again as they are so helpful and as for the and quality it will blow you away excellent service and quality larch cladding amazing company thanks craig from Csjoinery Edinburgh

I was a bit wary of ordering from timberulove as I'd never heard of them and thought the price was too good compared with other suppliers. Placed my order, heard nothing then 3 weeks later got a call from delivery driver to say they would be in half an hour. Very happy with quality and will definitely use again for my next project.

I placed an order online for 160 grade a Siberian Larch battens approximately 3 weeks ago and have just taken delivery of them and they are excellent.

The delivery was brought forward by several days and when they arrived, everything was unloaded with a minimum of fuss and placed exactly where I needed it.

I'v been very happy with the service from ordering through to delivery and I've already used 50 of them in my current project with no issues whatsoever.

Ordered 128 sq mtrs of siberian larch and even through covid the guys did there best to get it to me as soon as they could. 12sq mtrs was stolen from site and when i spoke to the guys they pulled out all the stops to replace them, ordered and paid for them of Wednesday promised delivery on the Saturday of the same week!! incredible service!! 5*

The whole process has been so smooth and easy, and the product is second to none!! I am and will use timberulove again and again!!

A difficult review, with a frustrating start and improved in the end - Starting with a call to check some product details and get a quote; the company were helpful after a slightly abrupt start, and I was asked to order online. I placed my order less than 2 days later and to my surprise the price had increased by 40% and the company wouldn't honour the quoted price; still I went ahead as the lead time of 10-15 days was better than others. After 14 days I emailed to request a delivery date, and got a response that I had another 11 day wait! On the advised delivery date I called to ask the time and the logistics chap didn't know, so I called the courier who didn't know about the delivery. Having asked for a new delivery date I was advised another two days (taking the lead time to 25 days, longer than the competition and a new higher price).

From then my experience improved with the delivery driver taking a lot of care over timing, calling ahead and unloading ~200 pieces of timber cladding neatly.
The cladding was evenly cut and finished with only a few split/twisted pieces and even a handful of extra pieces to cover the defect wastage, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately it was only charred on the visible face which is fine for aesthetic, but I'd chosen a charred finish to repel woodworm which are rife in our area, so time will tell whether that's a problem.

With the range of great to very poor experience, I've summed up as average - I like that it's a small, family run company, and I hope the issues I experienced are a one off. I'd think carefully before ordering again, but would probably go ahead with caution on time and cost.
