Insolvent Company

Company is insolvent.
Orders not being fulfilled.
I've been waiting for weeks, emails are ignored, phone line is unmonitored and a voicemail system, and the online chat system is broken. Now received an email about going into administration and being advised to file with my card issuer to get money back.
Terrible customer service, terrible businesspeople, terrible experience. Companies like this deserve to go under.

Dear Alex,

We sincerely apologise for the frustrating experience you've encountered with our services. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and we understand your concerns.

It's true that we've faced some challenging times as a business, which have regrettably affected our ability to fulfill orders in a timely manner. We're genuinely sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

In light of the recent difficulties, we want to provide you with some insights into our situation. While it's true that we've entered a period of financial restructuring, it's important to clarify that we are not insolvent. We have embarked on a path of recovery, and as part of this process, some orders have been affected. We acknowledge that our communication and service have fallen short of expectations, and we are deeply sorry for this.

To assist customers who have been impacted by these changes, we have initiated a process that advises affected customers to contact their card issuers to seek refunds. This action is designed to ensure that our customers are protected and can recover their funds.

We deeply value your feedback and are committed to improving our services. We are currently working to restore and enhance our customer support systems, including email, phone lines, and chat support, to provide a better experience.

While we understand that our recent challenges have strained your trust in us, we remain dedicated to rectifying these issues. We aspire to emerge from this period of restructuring as a more reliable and customer-centric company. Your support and consideration mean a great deal to us, and we hope that you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future to demonstrate the positive changes we are making.

Thank you for your valuable input, and we appreciate your patience during this period of transformation.

Best regards,
Alex

Scam artists and liers

Do not be fooled by this company. They are going into liquidation. I spent nearly £700 with them. It should have been delivered this week. When I saw the fake claims about a website relaunch I got worried about my order. I spoke with two people via email - you cannot call this company - and they promised me it would be delivered next week and that my order was not affected. But then I got the email today:

I hope this message finds you well. We understand that you may have missed our previous communication, and we wanted to ensure you are aware of the important information regarding your recent order with UK Bathrooms.

Due to unforeseen challenges, we regret to inform you that we are unable to fulfill certain orders, including yours. We understand how disappointing and frustrating this must be, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it has caused.

In light of these circumstances, we strongly recommend initiating a chargeback through your card provider to obtain a full refund. This process can provide you with the protection you need under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act and offers a direct route to obtaining your funds.
To assist you further, we've compiled step-by-step guides on how to initiate a chargeback with some commonly used card providers:

Please note that, given our current financial position, UK Bathrooms is unable to issue refunds directly. We understand the frustration this may cause, and we genuinely appreciate your patience and understanding during these unique circumstances.

Our team is working diligently to reach out to every affected customer, but we also recognize the urgency of resolving this matter promptly. By pursuing a chargeback with your card provider, you can expedite the refund process.

If you have any further questions or require additional assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We remain committed to assisting you in any way we can during this transitional phase.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this situation has caused and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Warm regards,
UK Bathrooms

This company is a complete and utter scam. Do not be fooled by them nor their relaunch. I am now trying to get the money back via paypal. This company should be ashamed.

Dear Dr. Powell,

We deeply regret the distressing experience you've encountered with our services, and we genuinely understand your concerns. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we want to address your situation to the best of our ability.

It is true that we've faced some significant challenges as a business recently, and we acknowledge that our communication has fallen short of your expectations. We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

In order to provide more clarity regarding your specific situation, we would like to explain the circumstances. While we have entered a period of financial restructuring, we want to emphasize that we are not going into liquidation. During this transitional phase, some orders have been impacted, which is deeply regrettable. Our goal is to ensure affected customers can recover their funds and are protected. Hence, we recommended initiating a chargeback with your card provider as it offers the necessary protection under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

We fully recognise the urgency of resolving this matter, and we are committed to assisting you and other affected customers to the best of our ability. However, due to our current financial position, we are unable to issue refunds directly. We are genuinely appreciative of your patience and understanding during these challenging times.

We are working diligently to reach out to every affected customer, but we understand the importance of a prompt resolution. The steps you are taking with PayPal are indeed a valid course of action to expedite the refund process, and we encourage you to pursue it.

We are deeply committed to emerging from this period of restructuring as a more reliable and customer-centric company. Your support and understanding are of great importance to us, and we hope that in the future, you may consider giving us another opportunity to demonstrate the positive changes we are making.

We apologise once more for any inconvenience this situation has caused and deeply appreciate your patience and understanding.

Warm regards,
Ryan

Took my money and ran

Took my money and ran. No customer service, phones are no longer manned. They took orders from customers and then stated they cannot fulfil orders and sent them a templates email on how to obtain their money back from their credit card companies. What a bunch of thieves. I have provided them with over 2 months to contact me and make amends. Nothing

On the website they portrayed this as a relaunch but instead they stole money, closed their doors and stated we "reopening". Incredible. Avoid at all costs.

EDIT: Their copy/paste response below addresses no issue, only their own business struggles. That's great and all but within 2 months the business has closed and reopened with a new vigour for change. What a joke. What the message from them should of included, is how they going to assist refunding the customers they stole money from and not keep it. You cannot open and close a business trading like this and just take customers money.

Dear Customer,

We genuinely appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we want to address your concerns with transparency and a commitment to improvement.

As you've mentioned, our journey over the past year has indeed been challenging, marked by unforeseen hurdles primarily stemming from the impacts of COVID-19. We had to make a tough decision to temporarily pause trading on our site on the 18th of September to ensure we could best serve the interests of our customers, suppliers, and dedicated staff. To navigate this period, we initiated a process called a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), backed by HMRC, a scheme designed to support viable businesses in times of financial stress. This step was taken after careful evaluation of all available options, and our focus was always on providing long-term stability.

We are deeply committed to being transparent and open about our journey and the steps we are taking. Customer support is now at the core of our mission, and to assist affected customers like yourself, we have partnered with a third-party company that specializes in guiding customers through the CVA process and providing support.

The restructuring phase is now complete, and we are excited to share that our new approach centres on delivering quality, reliability, and a superior customer experience. We have shifted our focus from discounts to emphasising high-quality bathroom products, furthering our commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. This change has also strengthened our relationships with renowned brands that trust UK Bathrooms.

We acknowledge that trust may take time to rebuild, and we understand any hesitation. However, we genuinely hope that one day you'll consider giving us another chance. You'll find that the difference is night and day, as we're resuming operations with the goal of becoming a trusted partner for all your bathroom needs.

Furthermore, we're thrilled to announce that we are in the process of reopening our phone lines, making it easier than ever for you to reach out to us directly and experience the quality service you deserve.

Thank you for being a part of our journey, and we look forward to the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Warm regards,
Ryan

Not a reliable vendor; no customer service

Don’t be fooled by the slightly lower prices - the stock estimates are inaccurate and you’ll get absolutely zero communication about timelines or shipping. There is essentially no channel for customer support. We are going to have to dispute the charge as we’ve not gotten many items from our expensive order and there has been no follow-up.

By the way, notwithstanding the long winded reply from the business below, we still don’t have all our items and they still won’t respond to queries about it. Been over two months. Quicker to just process our order than to post that novella 😂

BEWARE.

Didn't receive my order. After three weeks and a bit of chasing receive an email stating that the company is folding and that my order won't be fulfilled, NOR WILL I RECEIVE A REFUND.

If this is the state of play, please stop taking orders. You can't be taking money from customers knowing you can't uphold your side of the deal, ukBathrooms. Poor form.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM UK BATHROOMS!!

They took my £3,405.22 money 3 weeks ago for some toilets, basins and mirror cabinets. Heard nothing back for 3 weeks then received an email with complete waffle and pretty much saying they wont be delivering my items and are unable to refund my money either!!!

They're a SCAM and completely shocked on how they've done this. Easier for them to do this when they have no one you can speak to over the phone!

They're a fraud.

Disgraceful

Assured me my order would be processed but the next day advised that they were filing a Section 75 order and that, if I had paid by credit or debit card, I should contact my card company and reclaim the money as they would not be able to refund any money themselves.
Disgraceful conduct.

Would give a minus rating if I could

I wish there was an option to give a minus rating to a company. In fact this is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review of any retailer. I ordered a toilet in July (not a cheap one may I add) , it's now September I have no toilet, no refund and no-body with the slightest ounce of courtesy to respond to my emails. I am having to pursue my credit card company for a refund - more of my time needlessly wasted. I'm staggered companies like this still have customers to trade to, take my advice and save your time and money.

Dear Hashem,

I purchased V&B toilet mid August 23

I purchased V&B toilet mid August 23. I was told 1-3 weeks for delivery. Three weeks passed and nothing. I contacted them via emil (the only method possibe). I was told they would be receiving my product in 2-3 days time and then it would be shipped to me. One week later still nothing. I emailed again and received a standard response saying they were seeing CVA and i would not get my order or money back! They are still online trading now. How are these people allowed to do this???

Avoid UK Bathrooms

Ordered shower tray 31 August with 3-10 day delivery time. Was strung along until an email arrived saying the company is unable to fulfil my order or give me my money back, so to contact the credit card company through whom I paid, yet UK Bathrooms will have a grand relaunch in October.

Do not buy from this company

Do not buy from this company! I would give zero stars if I could. They lie about what stock is "in their warehouse". They constantly change delivery dates when they have little prospect of getting stock into their warehouse so keeping you hanging. The only contact method for customer services is email - no phone number. And refunds are taking 15 days! My advice would be to use Bathrooms and Showers Direct who do refunds within 48 hours, Heat & Plumb or Better Bathrooms. Steer well clear from this company!

Dishonest thieves

Waiting for orders made in July and August worth over £5k. Have been promised several times they're due into the warehouse and will be sent straight out. It's not true. They've now closed the website to new orders and have said some orders won't be fulfilled. And apparently they're relaunching? Where does that leave all the people whose money they've taken?

This company is insolvent! DO NOT USE

This company is insolvent. Do not use!

This company has repeatedly lied to customers, first by stating items are in stock and in the warehouse upon ordering on the website only to delay them for months, then launching sales to create more positive cash flow when they were knowingly insolvent which is a shameless and illegal practice and I will be referring them to the police on this matter.

It is a sad thing to see a business fail but it is no excuse to misrepresent the financial health of an organisation, lie about stock levels and availability, and continually entice people in with sales offers that they knew they would never fulfil.

It's a hard lesson learnt for me after months of being fobbed off, lied to and ultimately defrauded of thousands of pounds of goods and costly delays to my bathroom renovation. The directors Andrew, Peter, Graeme, who knowingly undertook this course of action, have defrauded hundreds of customers and simply written off this debt under a CVA and rebooted the company and the lack of empathy they have shown their customers is contemptuous. These people are completely and utterly shameless so please don't be enticed in by sales offers that they will not fulfil.

Looking at companies house there are clear involvement from these individuals in several existing and past entities and it is clear that they have insulated themselves from any hardship whilst 'defaulting' on monies to untold numbers of customers.

Dear Laurence,

We genuinely appreciate you taking the time to express your concerns, and we are deeply sorry for the frustration and disappointment you've experienced with our services. We'd like to address your concerns with honesty and transparency.

Your feedback highlights some valid concerns, and we understand your frustration. We'd like to clarify our position:

Stock Availability: While we always aim to maintain accurate stock information, disruptions stemming from various factors, did occasionally lead to discrepancies between our website listings and the actual availability. For this, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Sales and Financial Health: We understand your concerns about our financial health. The decision to initiate a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) was indeed a challenging one. CVAs are government-supported mechanisms designed to help viable businesses recover while ensuring a fair process for creditors. Our intention was never to mislead, and we genuinely aimed to resolve issues and emerge stronger for the benefit of all stakeholders. However, we recognise that the communication and management of this situation could have been improved.

We have learned valuable lessons from your feedback and are actively working on enhancing our operations. While we acknowledge the hardships faced by our customers during this period, please know that we are committed to rectifying these issues.

Our goal is to rebuild trust and ensure our customers have a positive experience moving forward. We are indeed reopening our phone lines to provide better support, and we are putting measures in place to ensure our operations are aligned with the highest ethical and legal standards.

Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention, and we hope that our future actions demonstrate our commitment to improvement and making things right for our customers.

Warm regards,

Ryan

THIS COMPANY IS ON THE EDGE OF VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION (i.e. VOLUNTARY BANKRUPCY)

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - THEY ARE ENTERING A COMPANY VOLUNTARY ARANGEMENT (CVA) AND DUE TO THEIR CURRENT FINANCIAL POSITION ARE REFUSING TO REFUND ORDERS WHICH THEY ARE UNABLE TO FULFIL. I am having to pursue a refund for over £1,000, for a bathroom which they continually delayed delivery for until I cancelled it late August and they won't refund, via Section 75 and my credit card company. They are now scheduling a relaunch in mid-October when, in my opinion, they'll walk away from UK Bathrooms having creamed off customers' money, set up essentially the same company and quite possibly under a different name and at some point in the future do the same again. My advice is don't buy anything from any business who's directors include the same Andrew Dixon Boddy, Graeme Roger Borchard and Peter John Gregg who were the directors of UK Bathrooms. In my opinion, these crooks need to be kept out of business.

Dear Gary,

Thank you for sharing your concerns and providing feedback on your experience with UK Bathrooms. We understand the frustration and disappointment you've faced, and we'd like to address your comments with transparency and empathy.

Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA): It's true that UK Bathrooms entered into a Company Voluntary Arrangement to navigate through a challenging period. The intention behind this process was to restructure our operations and emerge stronger. We acknowledge that such situations can be unsettling for customers, and we're sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Refunds and Order Fulfillment: We genuinely apologise for the issues you encountered with your order. Delays and the subsequent refund process should have been handled more efficiently, and we understand your frustration. We take your feedback seriously and will use it to improve our operations and customer service.

Relaunch: Our plan to relaunch in mid-October is a part of our commitment to re-emerge as a better, customer-centric business. Our aim is not to walk away from our responsibilities but to offer a renewed and improved service to our valued customers.

We deeply regret any negative impact our past actions may have had, and we genuinely appreciate your feedback. We are dedicated to addressing these issues, learning from our mistakes, and rebuilding trust.

We are working diligently to provide better support, including reopening our phone lines for direct communication. We want to assure you that we remain committed to conducting our business in a responsible and ethical manner.

We value your feedback, and we hope you might consider giving us another chance to demonstrate the improvements we are making. If you ever decide to do so, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

Warm regards,
Ryan

AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Gone into administration but quite happy to take my £600 order placed less than 2 weeks ago. Currently trying to claw back payment via bank but as I paid via debit card I don't know how easy that will be. I had saved this money for months to update downstairs toilet and having a young family cant afford to just lose £600.

This feels very dodgy and underhand - If they do 'rebrand' and 'relaunch' please don't touch them with a sh***y stick.

Also i have had no direct contact or apology.
