My mum bought an EcoSport 2 months ago from Keith Dainton at Vospers Torquay. We live in Essex and she thought she was doing the right thing buying a car from Devon with low mileage. Was fully assured we would be able to take to a local ‘Ford approved garage’ if any issues were to arise.

The car was sold as ‘immaculate condition’. Once we got home noticed damage to the roof. Reached out to Keith, he acknowledged and apologied that this should’ve been picked up on inspection.

Keith repeatedly asked us to go back to Devon for their garage to carry out the works. I informed him this was ludicrous as it is a 4.1/2 hour journey, particularly as my mum is reaching 70 years of age and we were assured on purchase, if any issues were to arise we could take it to a local Ford approved garage.
With a long winded back and forth, we were eventually told to go to a garage an hours drive from our house. They provided a quote to Vosper, to which Keith informed us was ‘far too high’.

2 weeks ago I asked Keith to escalate this matter to his regional manager. To date I have heard nothing, even though I followed up with Keith last week and asked for an update. Still.Nothing.

TWO MONTHS DOWN THE LINE AND THIS IS STILL AN ONGOING ISSUE.

I am beyond disappointed with the lack of communication and lack of customer service provided after purchase.

With all this in mind, I would not recommend this car dealership to anyone.

Russell Went Above and Beyond for Me

I don’t usually write reviews (I still struggle with computers!), but I really wanted to say how wonderful Russell was when I bought my Mazda CX-5. This was the first car I’ve had to buy on my own since losing my husband, and I was very nervous about the whole thing.

Russell made everything feel so much easier. He was calm, patient and very trustworthy, and he took the time to explain things in a way I could understand. I never felt rushed or pushed in any way. He let me go at my own pace, which meant a great deal to me.

What impressed me even more was that he personally delivered my new car to my home and took away my old one for me. I thought that was exceptional service, especially as I would have struggled to manage it all myself.

Since getting the car, I’ve phoned him with all sorts of questions (probably far too many!), and he has always been happy to help. Nothing has ever felt like too much trouble.

Russell is a real asset to the company, and I’m very grateful for everything he did for me.

Brilliant service from Vospers at Truro…

Brilliant service from Vospers at Truro when buying a replacement Transit Custom van for one that got written off after an accident.
John May was very helpful and very patient when it came to sorting all the requirements needed to get me back on the road as quickly as possible.
Communication was excellent all the way through too even after having driven it off the forecourt. Third van from Vospers no doubt it won’t be the last!

BIG LETS DOWNS

Ordered a top of the range custom sport LATE 2024
Having been chasing this van for nearly one year, Nobody knew when this van was arriving. JOKE. Then i called two weeks ago to see what was happening. I was told it was landing within a few days no warning or courtesy phone call to tell me this , what a mess what a joke
This was my third van with them, so a deal was made on this one when ordered.I have an email stating my 2024 transit sport had equity so all good. How wrong was i.
No equity in van about £3000 in negative equity
Vospers did not try to help me and basically kept asking if i wanted this van. over and over
i waited a whole year for the van why would i not.
The salesmen just kept asking, i think they had someone lined up for my van as this was ordered on there price promise plus they told me this van would cost a few thousand pound more if i were to order today HMMMMMM. VOSPERS van centre left me high and dry now sat here very angry THAT I LOST MY VAN I had to tell them to keep the van They let me down and didn't stick to the deal i had. they said they knew nothing of this even though it was put in writing via an email from claire
Its a horrible feeling waiting a whole year for my 4th transit sport to be let down in that last week. did money come into the equations
gutted but i will never buy a van neither would i let someone i know go there either.
this is not the way to look after returning customers

Car went in for a headlamp exchange

Car went in for a headlamp exchange. The job was done quickly and very professionally. The whole staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The two ladies in reception were both so friendly and helpful. On a score of 1 to ten I would rate them ten plus. I received the car back washed and cleaned inside and out. Excellent service from all. Well done 👍

Originally I saw the car on line but it was in Plymouth awaiting preparation so no images were available at the time. Josh arranged for it to be delivered to Exeter for me to test drive. He sent a video on its arrival which was a really nice touch. When I arrived to test drive the car Josh was very cheery and welcoming. We ended up buying two cars on the same day. Josh was very patient, professional, helpful, and most importantly not pushy. He explained everything thoroughly. The hand over was very well organised and made so easy by Josh, the red bows and ribbons on both cars, which were parked next to each other on arrival, was very a nice touch. I am very happy with the car and would highly recommend Josh and Vospers.

Terrible customer service

Booked in to view a car. Booked the day off work, drove over an hour to go and view/test drive and hopefully buy said car just to turn up and find out it was sold the previous day. No communication from the salesman who had all of my details when booking.
The general attitude towards the experience was extremely unprofessional with words to the effect of "Yep, sorry, that was sold yesterday. Wasn't here to tell you and no, we haven't got anything else similar".
The apology wasn't genuine in the slightest and there was no sort of communication to try and make me stay to take a look at the other cars available.
They clearly don't want, nor like their job, and they're definitely not out to sell you a car like I thought Mr Vosper himself would hope for in a Salesman..
Gutted and annoyed is putting it politely - if this is the treatment before buying a car from them, I dread to think what it's like when they've taken your money.
Extremely disappointed, what a waste of time.
This is a review for the user car centre at Marsh Mills in Plymouth and the Salesman was called Andy.
