Devaluing items falsely
Edited to add: the paperwork confirmation on my account actually states they have quoted £410 for poor condition compared to the paperwork I received with the postage pack which states good condition so the whole system seems to be a shambles.
Terrible experience. Went on all the positive reviews on here but not my experience at all.
Quoted £410 for a ‘good’ condition phone. Always had a case and screen protector on and only 2 years old. Had valuation back at £316 stating there were scratches on the screen and a mark on the back housing. The good condition T&Cs state no deep scratches and no marks visible from 30cm away and it had neither of these. I took photos before sending.
They only offer to accept or have the phone returned so I’ve sent a contact form explaining that their valuation is disingenuous as the phone was probably in better condition than their ‘good’ descriptor.
Will await their response but not hopeful. Definitely avoid and go with a more reputable company.

Edited: the paperwork provided details of order uploaded for GOOD condition of the device and your device has been downgraded to the physical condition of the device which updated status to POOR condition and that has been reflected in further communication. We do not offer the £412 quote for a POOR condition the same as all other companies on the market.

£412 Quoted, £216 Offered – Very Disappointing
I was initially quoted £412 for my old phone, but after sending it in, the offer was reduced to just £216 because of the tiniest scratch on the screen.
I had described the phone as being in “good condition”, not “excellent”, so I was disappointed that such a minor mark resulted in the offer being cut by almost half. I’ve genuinely seen phones with much more noticeable damage being sold on Vinted for around £400.
I decided to accept the reduced offer because I had already sent the phone in and wanted the process resolved there and then, but I can’t say I was happy with the outcome. The reduction felt very disproportionate to the condition of the phone and the size of the scratch.
The process itself was straightforward, but the huge difference between the original £412 quote and the final £216 offer has left me disappointed. I think the grading and deductions could be much fairer and more transparent.

Not had the best experience with selling phones online. They either go missing or they don’t follow through on the quote even though I’m very truthful regarding the current condition of the phone. This time I sent it off, 24hours later the money was in my bank! No hassle at all

As we explained on the phone, once the device arrived with us, we tested it and unfortunately found that it did not meet the criteria selected when the order was placed. This is why a revaluation offer was sent to you.
After you declined the first offer, my colleague sent you a further revaluation after 3 days, as we always try to improve our offers where possible and find a solution that works for both sides.
We also understand your concern regarding the return of the device. Declining a revaluation does not automatically mean that the device is returned, as we need confirmation from the customer before arranging this. As we have not yet heard back from you regarding the second revaluation, we have kept the device safely with us while awaiting your instructions.
We have now arranged the return of your device and have shared the tracking number with you. The device is now on its way back to you.
We’re sorry for any frustration or inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate that this may not have been the experience you expected, but we have been following our process throughout and are happy to assist if you have any further questions.

*Edit after speaking to them they reassessed my phone. Customer service was good** Told them what was wrong with my phone and they offered me £87.00. Once they recieved it they said that after testing they could offer me £13.00. Or charge me £10 to return the phone to me.

The reason we had to revalue the device was due to the following issues found during testing:

Beyond Economical Repair – Parts Value
Green dead pixels
Unable to refurbish LCD
You mentioned that you sold the phone as faulty, however, please note that our faulty condition also has specific terms and conditions. Selecting the faulty condition does not automatically guarantee the initial quoted price. If the device does not meet the criteria for that condition, we may need to revalue the offer.
I would definitely recommend reading our full terms and conditions before sending a device to us, as these explain the requirements in more detail.
That being said, I’m happy to look at this again and increase your offer if possible. Please reach out to us on email: info@webuytek.co.uk and I’ll be happy to help.
Regarding the £10 return fee, I cannot see any previous conversation between you and us regarding this. We only charge the £10 administration fee when a device has been sent to us with a PIN/account lock or active account, and the customer wants the device returned because they are unhappy with the offer, which doesnt seem to be in your case.
I hope this clarifies the situation, and please feel free to contact us so I can look into the offer for you.

Literally such a quick and easy process selling my phone. Received the free postage pack and sent my phone off yesterday (27.08.26). Had a message and email today (28.08.26) to say it had been received and was being tested. 2 hours later had another message and email to say testing was complete and payment had been sent with no issues found so full quoted price was paid.
