bought a Nissan Qashqai from a very good local car sales garage witch showed a glow plug module fault within 2 weeks of buying the car, spoke to the car dealer about it and they sent me to west Yorkshire autos for diagnosis and repair, West Yorkshire said they could not find the fault ,cleared the codes and said bring it back if it happens again which we did because within 1 day fault was back dashboard lit up like a Xmas tree again, leave it with us and we will ring you with what we find out, Never rang back for days so we rang them again, fault code showing glow plug module fault , they told us the module was bad and needed to order a new module from Nissan direct, i asked if they had already ordered the module and was told yes they had but it could be 3 days before they received it and they would ring us when the module was delivered. they never rang us for days again so we had to ring them yet again to be told we could take the car away and drive it safely un till the part arrived and they would phone us when the part was there, they rang days later to say the part had arrived and to take the car back to them which we did, we were promised it would be ready and fixed that day, Nope they hadnt had time to get on the job so it was now going to be another 3 days because of the weekend., finaly got a call from them saying glow plug module had been fitted and the car was fixed and we could collect the car which we did, 1 day later dashboard lit up like a Xmas tree yet again. very long story short this problem happened for the next month so we decided to take to another garage that deals with fleat vehicles and has a excellent reputation only to find the glow plug module that west yorkshire auto supposedley ordered from Nissan had never been fitted to the car, the old original module was still fitted. Someone behind the desk at West Yorkshire Autos Speaks with fork tongue i think, We then contact the car dealer we bought the car from and told them about the module not being changed when we were told it had been and the car was now at a proper reputable garage being fixed, the car dealer then spoke to west yorkshire autos to find out what was going on and they told him they hadnt replaced the module but they had changed a glow plug plunger lol . in the meantime west yorkshire autos rang me obviously because the car dealer had been in touch with them, admitting they had not changed the module but had changed the plunger lol when i asked why did they tell us they had ordered the glow plug module from Nissan and they had definatley replaced the module on the day we collected the car the little fellow behind the desk put the phone down on me. because he speaks with fork tongue and he was knocking. RAC should really think more than twice about recomending West Yorkshire Autos in Featherstone. On a good note though the car dealer who sold us the car got straight onto the job and started to put things right so good in him but Bad on West Yorkshire Autos. Steer Clear is my Advice.

Thanks for you review. Even though you were not a customer of ours, and wasn't booked in, and was told to just come to us by the car sales. i spoke to your husband who rang me this morning, as i tried to explained we did order a module for it,(also have proof of purchase) but rather than wasting money on just sticking it on, we checked and found it to be thermo plunger at fault, and there is actually 4 of these located within the vehicle, the old part is here on my desk as proof, we don't not rip people off or charge the car sales if its not required. not sure what you mean by my fork tongue, possible cause i don't have a Yorkshire accent, you kept shouting and laughing at me when i told you what we've changed... We have done 1000's of cars for the said car sales. the vehicle was test driven and left here without the EML on,
As for RAC We are inspected every year in every aspect of the business, including the office and staff..

I have pictures of everything changed, and codes but it doesn't let me post them on this reply

West Yorkshire Autos, Featherstone. Avoid at all costs.

Awful experience with West Yorkshire Autos , Featherstone. My car broke down and was recovered by the RAC on 9th December who took it to their nearest "approved" garage. I was told they would be in touch with me and I heard mothing from them so I called the following week. I was told the repair would cost £325. I had googled the part and it was £27 so I felt this price was too high. I challenged the cost with the manager and he became very defensive and quite rude on the phone, telling me if I could get the part cheaper, then do so. I ordered the part and delivered it to the garage a couple of days later. I was told they would let me know when the work was done so I could collect my car. I heard nothing again so when I phoned, I was told it was the wrong part. A week had passed now so I asked the manager to order the part from Nissan and I would have to pay the extra cost as I needed my car back. Again I asked him to call me when the part arrived and the work was done so I could collect it. Heard nothing so I phoned and was told they were very busy and it would be the following week. I felt that because I had challenged him originally, he was being less than helpful and his attitude was very abrupt and unhelpful. I called a few times that week and was then told that they had done the repair, but it also need a new water pump which they had to order so it would be more expensive and also another few days before it would be ready, and as this was over the weekend, it would be yet another week. I was expecting a call to say I could collect it, which never came, so I called again and made arrangements to pick my car up, which by now was into the third week of the car being there. I collected the car and paid the bill of over £400. Within 2 weeks of getting my car back, the clutch on my car has failed completely. There was no indication of any issues before it went in for repair, it has low mileage and is driven carefully. It has less than half the mileage of that anticipated for a replacement clutch, and I suspect that it may have been damaged during the time at the garage. I had very poor service in terms of customer care and quality of workmanship with this business and I have also sent a complaint to the RAC suggesting they may want to review this business as one of their "approved" repairers. Awful experience.

Thanks, for you feedback.... in response, The vehicle actually came to us on the 27/10 not the 9th December.... When rac rang to bring the car down, they was told which would have been relayed to you, we were busy and it wouldn't get looked at until the week after....
Yes you called and i quoted on the part that was available for you car....So we priced accordingly, we don't rip people off.... and i didn't come defensive, your actual words to me were "i don't think so your ripping me off" i gave you the option to order the part for £27 off internet. as i explained i don't think it would be the right part. so we allowed you to get the part, when you bought the part in we got you car in the very next day. and then the part was incorrect, so i rang you and explained it was wrong (i have the call records) we then proceeded to locate correct one , even Nissan main dealer went on to back order (common part) so we ordered one off the internet with the numbers of the old unit to make sure was correct, i also at the time gave you the option to order it or we can,,,, you told us to order it... we fitted it the day it arrived we then went to bleed the car up and noticed the water pump was not circulating so i rang you and said it wanted a water pump, and quoted you the price.... and you agreed, again the part had to be ordered in, so we did it soon as it arrived and once completed all work we rang you to notify you it was ready for collection. We never charged you any extra for having to strip the car down twice for the wrong part supplied. which we were in our rights to do. the vehicle was completed & invoiced on 15th December. so around 2 weeks not 3/4 weeks as you've stated. and i don't think this was a bad turnaround when were was busy, & had to wait twice for parts off the internet. i also gave you the wrong thermostat back after you told me to keep it as you said it was not good to you, so i suggested sending it back for a refund. As for the clutch ... We have not been anywhere your clutch r even touched it,... i find it quite disrespectful that you have turned in to a keyboard warrior and looking for someone to blame for a clutch failure... a clutch can go at any point, driving conditions are all different, no such thing as an average life span on a clutch, we have a Qashqai with 18k miles on and clutch and flywheel has failed... you was not provided poor service... we did everything we could to help you even after you said we was ripping you off, if you went with the original quote the car would have been done with 3/5 days. what's wrong with the workmanship ?? we changed a thermostat & water pump... both changed and working... We will await the response from RAC, As we have done nothing wrong & have done all to help you....

This garage was completely dismissive and unwelcoming. I booked urgently at the last minute when they clearly had availability, yet once I arrived they claimed they couldn’t sort the car and pushed me off for days. In the end they refused to do any work at all.
What’s worse, in every bad review they receive, they try to defend themselves by making false claims about customers. I have even contacted some of the people who left poor reviews before me, and they confirmed that the garage’s responses were completely false. This shows a pattern of behaviour: unreliable service, rudeness, and dishonesty when challenged.
I only wish I had seen the many other poor reviews before booking. Strongly advise avoiding this garage.

Avoid at all costs. I don’t even know where to begin. Communication is absolutely shocking. Had my car for best part of a year, with no real explanation as to what was happening with it. Was left for months at the side of the road (if they had been honest with me from the start that they didn’t have time for it, I would have had it recovered again to somewhere that could). Had to fight to get the car back. Told it was fine when we collected it. Within 30 mins of driving it the engine light was on, whistling from the engine and a knocking sound. Not to mention the absolute state of the car, full of oil inside and all over the boot, and the scratches on the car body. We did call them back about the work and was not surprised at all the response that we got - absolutely useless. Now having to save to have a real garage look at it, after feeling absolutely ripped off.

Poor diagnostic abilities & customer service

Took my car in for investigation as there was a rattling / timing chain? noise from the engine. Had a warranty on the car and the insurance company gave me this company’s number. Agreed a time to take it in, explained the warranty aspect which they said they would sort with the company and I asked if they would service the car for me as well. They serviced the car for me and said bring it back the following week for the warranty/ noise aspect to be completed. I found they had left a ratchet spanner under the bonnet when I had a look for engine details and took it back to them promptly - no real concern that it been left under the bonnet or potential damage it might have caused, did say thanks for returning ratchet.
I took my car in the following week, after a few hours, they rang me to say the company wasn’t going to pay, (which was something that they were sorting out before I took it in) so I said no problem I’ll pay just fix it please.
They were going to replace aux drive belt & tensioner but rang me to say there was an additional problem and needed to replace crankshaft pulley. They said they would try the warranty company to see if they’d pay for that but I said I’ll pay if they won’t. They didn’t, I did. I collected the car today, only for a loud pop and service warning light to come on within 400m of leaving the “garage”. I took the car back immediately and a “mechanic” took the car into the bay and found they hadn’t tightened a hose which blew off, covering adjacent equipment with oil mist. No real apology or concern. After all this the engine was only very slightly quieter, the rattling was still there. Took my car to another, proper, garage to listen to the noise. They hadn’t the time to investigate until late next week, but had a quick listen and thought it wise to check the alternator first, before checking timing chain. I had a look myself, removing wheel and wheel arch liner to access recently replaced belt, tensioner & c/shaft pulley. 4 plastic fixings were totally missing or broken off! Removed aux belt and alternator OK, will book it in with 2nd, proper garage for them to do next week. No real customer service. Avoid.

Poor customer service! If I could give 0 for customer service…

If I could give 0 for customer service I would! I booked in for service, over phone I was informed to take the car in, soon I dropped the car I was told “ I told you we were busy” not been told any of this over phone nor via fixcar portal! Mechanic wise no complains. My car was needed a part which I reported on same day, engine management light was on, a full week given to order replacement part, attention I contact them 3x, on Saturday to ask if had a reply from Hyundai parts, on Monday to ask if has been priced up and could schedule for fitting, one day prior booking to confirm if was all set, as they confirmed all good to call in, I went today to be told the part hasn’t arrived and they didn’t know when would be delivered! 0 consideration for customers, I had to ask at work to move things around for this treatment! Bearing in mind was confirmed they have my contact number! If you can RUN don’t look back!

Above and Beyond customer service

Above and Beyond customer service. Went out of their way and re arranged their workload to get my car MOT done while I waited as I had no means of transport home.
They do much more than MOTs so after my experience today, first time at this garage, I will definitely be back again!!! Highly recommend all staff are first class. Thank you lads!! Much appreciated

I have been using west Yorkshire autos…

I have been using west Yorkshire autos for 3 years now for my servicing and MOT. Great service from these guys, at very reasonable prices. They picked my car up when I needed a repair done as well, they ordered the part and did the repair as soon as the part arrived. I wouldn't go anywhere else my daughter uses they're service as well. I trust them 100%
