Super Service
Ordered a pair of slippers yesterday lunchtime having been let down badly by another online supplier.
Price was about half the price of the other supplier and couldn't believe it when they turned up this morning. Quality was excellent too with some removable insoles which helps give more options for comfort.
Altogether a first class efficient shopping experience

Bit of an uneven experience so far, but does what it says on the tin
My podiatrist friend insisted that with my severe bunions I MUST get special shoes, and stipulated I should get properly fitted/measured by this company, meaning a 45 minute drive from home. You have to book an appointment, can't just turn up on spec, which made it sound a lot more special of an experience than it turned out to be. The company certainly does not overspend on the premises at Rushden, and the perfunctory measuring and product selection process was a turn-off. Don't want to tar everyone with same brush, but my wife thought exactly the same. Never mind, the shoes she brought fit perfectly well, though the casual shoe range is a bit clunky to say the least. Fast forward and I've recently bought some trainers (at a discounted price), and that experience with a very helpful lady on the telephone was an altogether better experience. You are only as good as your people - and you know investment is needed in premises. I've followed up your reply, and given you my details as requested, if you want me to expand and explain my review. I'd started to explain here, but now feel it's not necessary or helpful to put it in the public arena.

We are sorry to read that you were not entirely happy with your visit. Our building is over 100 years old, having been connected with the shoe trade all its working life. It is not “modern”, but has character, with old wood panelling etc. We accept that this may not appeal to all.
As the shop is within the main building, it is adjacent to the main warehouse thereby enabling customers to have access to the full range of available stock of boots / shoes / slippers / sandals / trainers etc in the width fitting, colour and size they require. This is gives the customer many more options than if were to separate the shop from the building.
We offer appointments not to make it sound grand, but to ensure when people travel they get 100% of our attention for that 45 minutes, whilst a shop environment might mean that we are serving another 4 or 5 customers at the same time as we have no control over the flow of customers.
Shoe measurement is done using a board for length and a tape measure for circumference. It is not “high-tech” but is still the most effective way of giving an indication of the size and fitting required before trying shoes.
Most importantly your wife came away with shoes that fitted. Hopefully we actually got the most important areas right. Our staff guided the customer in the right choice of footwear for their needs, resulting in happy feet.
Its great to hear that you have also successfully purchased via our telephone / mail order department and hope you enjoy wearing the trainers.

Spammed with catalogues
I bought a pair of shoes a few years ago and was happy with them. The company started sending me catalogues and I phoned and said I didn't want them. They stopped sending them until I placed another order, then they started again. I didn't sign up for them. I have emailed and they said they would stop sending them. I have sent them back with messages on to stop sending them but all to no avail. The next month another catalogue pops through my letterbox. These unwanted catalogues don't make me want to buy from them, totally the opposite. They are a complete nuisance and should stop spamming people.

Great fitting shoes for those with fat feet
I have short thick fat feet, my husband calls them Hobbit feet and have struggled nearly all my life to buy shoes.My friend told me about DB Wider fit and have bought so many pairs because... THEY FIT!!!! I have not had a problem with a single pair. I do buy in the sales as they are very expensive.

The fit is amazing, especially as I have wide feet after having some operations on them. The measuring device is great as you can get the sizing correct. Excellent service and delivery of boots and shoes enabling Orthotic insertions.
Excellent service and delivery. Just purchased the Donna lace up boots 6E, size 6 in Denim and also in the Russet Red. Reasons: because the fit my arthritic feet and can insert my orthotics, can rotate their wear, prefer leather because rainproof and can clean and polish them, I wear trousers a lot during Autumn/Winter although look fashionable with Winter dresses and tights, etc. For me, the style is perfect and my feet don't slide forward in the boot plus can adjust the lace during day as necessary. Have them now in all 4 colours -strangely they have never made them in a Dark Brown or Navy. Tried other manufacturers -all their boots and shoes gone to Charity Shops. Only problem is finding matching coloured leather handbag in the Wineberry [unsure what colour it really is] and where on earth to find the Russet red handbag - some lighting it looks towards a brown shade then again possibly red until I place them next to a red garment or orange or brown and no way are they those colours so guess black or navy handbag/clothing only options. Guess I'm fussy. Web site also has wonderful shoe designs but sadly not all made in 6E with removable soles and made with 2 inch heels which I cannot wear, especially the dressy shoes which sometime in the year I need but when I find them half inch lower and in my size, then I'm in there. Also a problem finding summer sandals and I still like the open toe with velcro fastening and also around my ankle but with a covered heel simply because of ease of inserting my feet which includes my orthotics. Don't like them looking big and ugly though which last 2 years fashions seemed to be.

Thank you so much for your 5 star review - it means a great deal to us. We are thrilled that you have got all 4 colours in the Donna boot and sorry it doesn't come in Navy or Brown in a 6E fitting - nor matching handbags!
I expect you have already looked at other boots in a 6E like the Bradwell which does come in a Chestnut Brown or the Rochefort in navy - but this has been very popular so stock levels are low at the moment.
Have you also considered our 6V boots, shoes and slippers? These are variable fittings suitable for a 6E to an 8E fitting - adjusted by removing the insoles to find the perfect fit. We have the Nebraska a lovely hiking boot in navy and the Taipei with its faux fur lined soft nubuck leather upper in brown- and it has both a zip and laces to make it easier to get in and out of.
Regarding dress shoes if you prefer something flatter than some of our heeled shoes please look at our casual shoes as a lot of customers select from this range with popular styles being Buxton, Erin, Garlic, Lulworth and Sharon. Sharon has 2 sets of interchangeable straps (one plain and one plaited) which can be cut to length so are ideal where different length straps are required.
We have a wide range of slippers from classic slipper to booties, mules and pumps in a 6V fitting - many again with removeable insoles so the depth can be adjusted to fit. Ideal for keeping feet warm and cosy.
As for the sandals, we are working hard on next year's range and hope there is something there you will like.

Finally ...........
Finally, at last a pair WIDE Fitting shoes I cold wear on my very painful feet.
I recently purchased a pair of DB Monica 6V fitting shoes, and as soon as I tried them on in the house I knew I would be able to walk in them outside.
These shoes are deep enough to accommodate my professionally made insoles with ease. which corrected my posture and eased the pain in my feet and hips as I was no longer walking on the outside of my feet.
In fact on the worst foot I placed my insoles over the ones which came with the shoes and this made for an almost perfect fit even with my slight hammer toe
I did order one size up.
After twice returning other styles I had almost despaired of ever finding shoes to ease the misery of painful, swollen feet.
For me the secret seems to be the open back (sandal like) style, while the closed front still covered most of my feet.
I would love it if this style was made in all leather. Replacing the stretch material with very soft leather or leather look so the shoes can be worn all year round as I am not sure how the stretch material would fare if while out I got caught in a rain shower. It may be okay but I will not test it while I only have one pair of Monica just in case.
I have found the online customer service staff excellent, very patient and polite.

We now have published our autumn catalogue and if you have any queries about any of the shoes or boots, please get in touch. A lot of our boots have zips or laces and zips which makes getting feet - and any orthotics - in and out of the boots very easy. Once the laces have been adjusted for a comfortable fit it is simply a matter of unzipping to get in and out of them.
Many of our slippers also have removeable insoles and are perfect for keeping feet warm during the winter.

My mum and aunty have wide feet. The have difficulty in finding shoes to fit. These have wider shoes. My issue is this, they rip customers off. The shoes are expensive and poor quality. Most of the people that buy from them are the older generation that will pay their inflated prices, without thinking. I find that appalling.

We are sorry that your Mum and Aunt have not had a positive experience of buying from us.
We are a family owned and run company and are passionate about the shoes and the service we provide. We work very hard to design and develop a wide range of footwear to meet the needs of those with naturally broad feet and for those with swollen or other foot health problems, for adults of all ages. The majority of our footwear has removeable insoles and we specialise in providing shoes with extra depth and width that look very similar to narrower shoes found on line and on the High Street by carefully hiding the extra width / depth in the manufacturing process.
There are other design features many customers are not aware of within our range, from our stretch to fit shoes, deep toe boxes, shoes with cut to fit length straps, seam free toe boxes (good for those with diabetes), wide easy access shoes, extension straps and heel stiffners in our slippers to encourage stability and reduce falls. Many of our shoes have been approved by the Healthy Footwear Guide and we have twice been awarded the prestigious Comfort and Wellness Brand of the Year (2017 and 2019) for our range of footwear.
We invest a great deal of money in the tooling which we use either here in our factory in Rushden, Northamptonshire or we ship to our carefully selected third party companies who manufacture shoes on our behalf. We undertake extensive quality checks on the products as they are received into the warehouse and are therefore very sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the quality. Please return the shoes to us using the free returns label enclosed with the shoes so we can undertake a thorough investigation. If the free returns label has gone missing, please let us know and we will happily send you a replacement label.
As you will be aware, in addition to the free returns label with all our shoes sold direct to customers via our mail order department (online, post, phone) we also do not charge postage on exchanges so if the buyer is not happy with the shoes, for whatever reason, the shoes can be returned provided they have not been worn outside and are in the same condition as when we despatched the shoes. Customers will only be asked to pay extra to cover any difference in the price of the original shoes and the exchange pair. Alternatively, shoes can be returned for a full refund (subject to terms and conditions).
We actively work to ensure our shoes are competitively priced and run promotions on a regular basis providing extensive discounts from the original published prices. We also sell end of lines via our main website and good quality reject shoes via Ebay at bargain prices.
Once again, we can only apologise that you feel that your Mum and Aunt have not had a positive experience and are not happy with the quality of our products, so please return them so we can investigate. Faults do occur occasionally and the usual process is to return the shoes so we can replace or refund.

Great option for orthotic clinic patients
I am a clinician (orthotist) and I often treat people with wide feet or arthritic toes or people who need thick orthotic insoles or leg braces and they need wide or deep footwear. I often refer my patients to DB Wider Fit shoes after advising what size to try (I have fitting stock in my clinic). The quality is very good, the style are modern and they are frequently updated to keep up with fashion, they come with extra strap extensions if needed and the return service is very easy. Great shoes, although not made in Britain as expected
Just got my second pair of DB Shoes and am pleased again with the quality, fit and service.
However, this time I noticed a sticker inside saying 'Made in Portugal' (not on the first shoes) and felt disillusioned as this year I've been trying to 'buy British' and support British industries/workers -nowhere have I seen it stated that DB Shoes imports overseas-made shoes. The website states 'specialises in the design and manufacture of wide ...', though I now realise that the word 'manufacture' on its own does not preclude manufacturing abroad and I made an assumption (and perhaps the location/s is/are mentioned somewhere on their site?). Maybe they could specify in the product description where a particular shoe is made.
If that aspect is not important to you, then I would certainly recommend DB Shoes for their wide fittings and comfort (and thinking about it, I guess if they were made by British workers, they would be much costlier).

Thank you for your orders and your feedback and I am sorry if you feel you have been misled by where the shoes are made. We do all the design work and we do manufacture some of the shoes here in the UK but we are unable to make all the styles we sell as there are so many different machines and equipment required to cover the range from walking boots, long legged boots, casual and dress shoes, sandals, loafers/ pumps, slippers, canvas shoes, espadrilles and so on …and in all the different width fittings.
We would love to make all of our product here in the UK, but the costs associated with buying all the equipment to be able to do so, would be extortionate.
To enable us to offer our customers such an extensive range we have actively sought out partner factories who, using our tooling ie lasts and moulds, manufacture the footwear on our behalf. We bring the shoes into our warehouse in Rushden, Northamptonshire, where they are QC checked to make sure they meet our exacting standards of quality before we despatch – not only to UK customers, but globally.
We do try to identity on the website, in the description box for the shoes, if they are made in our factory in Rushden. In our catalogue, look for the union flag against the products.

I have wide feet and need wide fitting shoes. For quite a few years now I have bought my shoes from DB Widerfitshoes. They have a good selection of shoes, some of them a bit old school but many nice and modern. The quality is really good and they can last for years. The delivery times are also good. I ordered my last pair of shoes on a Friday afternoon and received them in Stockholm, Sweden, next Wednesday. Can´t ask for more. So all in all, this is a great company for buying wide fitting shoes no matter where you live.

I would like to publicly apologise for the review I wrote two days ago about my experience in using DB wider shoes. I had written that I was unhappy about the fact the boots I had ordered had not arrived, poor customer service and expensive postal costs.
Thank you for the reply below my review. I had not appreciated that the cost of returning/exchanging items were included in the original price of the postage.
More importantly, I wanted to say I was a big dim wit and the reason why it has taken so long to get my boots is because I had apparently not provided a full address, so the boots could not be delivered.
The initial person I spoke to could have looked into the details of my order and the angst could have been avoided.

We know that we don't always get it right but we do try really hard to make sure our customers find shoes that are comfortable and they are happy to wear them. We have lots of customers who have bought other brands of shoes only to put them in the back of the wardrobe and forget about them.
If you are having trouble finding the right fitting we have our shop, here at the factory in Rushden, Northamptonshire NN10 9XF open Monday - Saturday where you can come to get your feet measured and we will help you find the right shoes for you. Between Monday and Friday, the shop can access the full range of shoes in the warehouse so we can supply everything from shoes / walking boots / slippers / sandals etc if it is in stock.
We appreciate that getting to Rushden is not easy for everyone so we do recommend our independent retailers as listed on our website who stock our shoes.

Ordered from them the 5th of August. Other than the welcome email and order confirmation, I have received zero communication. They took payment, but I never got a shipping notification. I woke up this morning to find the money from the purchase had been refunded. Still no indication of what happened or why. I won’t be trying again though.

Thank you for your communication regarding the ordering of an item which is currently out of stock on the website and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Although the webpage states that the item is out of stock and when the next delivery is due in, we appreciate that this may not be obvious to all buyers and we are therefore looking at ways to make it clearer to buyers when ordering.
We are sorry we have been unable to provide you with your choice of footwear and have now cancelled the order as per your request. However we do hope that you will have another look at DB Wider Fit Shoes as we are bringing out lots of new styles in our Autumn / Winter range and with width fittings from E to EEEEEEEE we would like to hope that you would be able to find something that would fit your feet.
We have many delighted customers with product reviews on our webpage particularly as we offer free returns - until you find the right size and fitting for your feet, or a full refund.

i got shoes and that got turn very fast and folty and thay didn't bother sending me eny refund or sorry and i know that eny one that get shoes from them just gets once and dose not go back rubbish q

We are very sorry about your experience in purchasing shoes and have tried to make contact with you to discuss this as we have no record of you ever buying shoes from us. Are you sure you have left the review for the correct company as we have a name very similar to other Companies?
We provide a free returns label for all UK purchases from our DB Wider Fit Shoes web site and there would certainly have been no problem with sending another label out if you had misplaced the first one (T&C's apply).
We collect product review direct to our website so please have a look at all the customer reviews we have there and hopefully if you find that you have left the review meant for someone else, you would like to try buying from us.
We are the manufacturers of DB Wider Fit shoes and sell not only online but by mail order and through independent retailers. We also have our own onsite shoe shop in Rushden Northamptonshire where we would be delighted to welcome you to the shop and measure your feet for correctly fitting shoes.
