Opening an account
First attempt to open an account was at a very busy lunch-time with one member of staff at the counter dealing with a detailed response to her customer.
Subsequent visits have not involved long waits.
There was a lack of clarity about what proofs of identity were acceptable and on my final visit, a letter that was not deemed sufficient at an earlier visit was in the end accepted.
The person dealing with my application went beyond appropriate conversation, expressing her views on paedophiles and professionals who work with them.
It took almost 2 weeks from my original visit before my account became operative.

Made to feel very welcome in branch
Made to feel very welcome in branch, very helpful staff and best of all able to speak and deal with face to face and not just have to go online. Guided through all we needed to know. Also had the best interest rate compared to our usual bank's of HSBC & Lloyds. Lookinh forward to many years of hapoy saving so long as branches remain open.

Quick and easy experience
I opened an account with Yorkshire building society because the other providers are not using pass books and I like to see my savings increase each time I make a deposit.
The whole process was quick and easy and I walked out with my passbook.

Your website is a nightmare and I can't carry ou basic functions. I have raised a complaint and (with one exception) you never return calls or meet the commitments you make.

As you have raised a complaint, this will be dealt with in due course. If you are trying to access the YBS website via the Firefox browser, it is not compatible with our website at this time, and another browser will be needed. IF you are trying to use the App, this can only be installed on one device (it is optimised for smartphones) and you will need to be running at least iOS16 (for Apple) or Android 10 for other phones.

When transferring money from my YBS…
When transferring money from my YBS Savings Account to another bank, I had expected this to happen almost immediately (via Faster Payment). But the money was actually transferred the next Business Day via BACS.
It also looks as though you cannot use the YBS app at the same time on separate devices. There is some sort of reset which requires you to repeat the Registration process.
Otherwise, everything went smoothly. No complaints.

Thank you for your feedback.
It is not a BACS payment - payments made from your YBS account on Day One are usually received in the nominated account by 5pm on Day Two. This is currently under review to be changed later in the year.
You can only register the Savings App on one device - it is optimised for a smartphone, so I would recommend logging in via the YBS website if you are using a tablet or laptop.
