Their support structures dont work, leaving your money tied up without any recourse. A seller can not collect a return and then as a buyer you are stuck. Very disappointing

vältida!

Olen Yagat aastaid kasutanud.
😭😭

Non-existent customer support

Non-existent customer support. Even if you receive different item, they do nothing and advice you to list it again on Yaga (So that Yaga gets commission again).

"Buyer protection fee" is really just a Yaga commission for using the app (which is fine, but should be named differently instead of buyer protection), they offer no customer support.

Buyers Beware — Yaga Prioritizes Sellers, Not Your Rightsitems…

Bought two jeans listed as men’s items — both turned out to be women’s cuts. One seller refused return outright, the other claimed she’d spent the money.

Yaga support gave me the runaround for weeks. They blamed me for clicking “Item Received,” ignored the fact that I complained immediately, and kept shifting the goalposts. I asked repeatedly to escalate to management — never happened.

They eventually issued a refund for one item (R250) to my Yaga wallet after pressure, which I withdrew. The second refund (R200)? Denied. Same issue, zero logic.

Their T&Cs are built to protect sellers while buyers carry all the risk. Their “support” hides behind policy and refuses to take accountability. This case is now with the Consumer Protection Commission and CGSO.

Avoid this platform if you value your rights.

Extremely Disappointed – Unfair and One-Sided Platform

I am deeply disappointed with how Yaga operates. The platform is blatantly one-sided, prioritising buyers while leaving sellers completely unsupported and in the dark. The experience on this platform has been nothing short of infuriating. A buyer was refunded without any prior communication to me as the seller. No explanation. No investigation. No opportunity to present my side, as a seller. Just a silent, unilateral reversal. Now I’m left without the item "sold" and without the funds. How is this justified? It’s beyond disheartening to see a platform that claims to support small sellers show zero accountability and even less respect. If sellers are not going to be protected or even acknowledged, then what is the point?

Yaga, this is not how trust is built, but how reputations are lost. Potential sellers, be warned. You may lose both your items and your money.

Don’t bother

What initially seemed like a promising platform turned out to be a major disappointment. Yaga is flooded with counterfeit items, and reporting them is pointless — nothing ever gets taken down. It’s hard not to suspect that some of these sellers are either part of the customer service team or closely connected to them.

Speaking of customer service, the experience was unprofessional and rude. My account was suspended because they claimed to have sent me an email. Which I never received and the email address they referred to isn’t even mine. I lost all the photos and info, there were hundreds of euros or credit on my account which I’ll definitely be fighting to get back.

Also, I noticed that people named Anette, Karl, Cätlyn etc. have left a positive comments here. It’s worth noting that they all work at Yaga, which raises doubts about the authenticity of other positive reviews as well.

When Good Value Goes Bad

Echoing other reviewers, YAGA was a good site, but the buyer protection fees and 5% charge on the item’s price significantly inflates costs, making some second-hand items more expensive than buying new. It's often pricier than vintage shops that pay rent and overheads. Short-sighted and grasping. Hopefully someone will build another similar site with a better model.

FRAUD

Counterfeit items everywhere.
Whenever I report a item it doesn't get removed because Yaga feeds off counterfeit items.

I sold so many items and almost each item I have to fight customer support to receive my funds but this was the last .

Yaga seems to cover for thiefts who find ways to lie . And then what happens to the money in the Yaga wallet
Biggest scam

I'll see what my next step will be against Yaga . I hope y'all shut down for good .

ZERO SELLER PROTECTION

I strongly recommend you do not YAGA to sell your goods. They may have reasonable buyer protection, but there is almost ZERO seller protection.
If the seller does not collect the parcel from the courier, the Seller then has to make a private arrangement with the courier, and pay the courier to send the parcel back.
Seller then hase to go through the rigmarole of sending the proof of payment to Yaga, who will then consider whether they will penalise the buyer for the costs.
In the meanwhile, your costs of delivering the parcel to the courier, and then collecting it again, is not considered by Yaga. On lower cost items, you actually end up spending more on all this effort and nonsense, than what you would have gotten for the item. You can also not speak to any real person at Yaga.
If the buyer does not collect the parcel, the parcel should automatically be returned to the seller at the buyers cost, not the seller’s cost.
Yaga does not give ratings on buyers or sellers, which is another problem. Rather stick to Facebook Marketplace where you can build your own reputation among buyers.

My initial transactions were fantastic till FRAUD

My initial transactions were fantastic, really loved the platform
Till the criminals got hold of Yaga
My profile was hacked after a fraudulent transaction. Yaga must have had some red flag as Yaga removed the "user"
I was waiting for the funds to be returned to me seeing that we have payment protection
It was then returned to my wallet but it was an expensive phone so we wished for the funds to be returned to our credit card.
5 days later, Yaga then did a EFT refund to a bank account that was not mine.
I feel that Yaga is not on top of the scams and how the criminals are mining their users and stealing their "refunds"

Yaga is in favour of sellers using deceiving images to sell preloved shoes

I bought a pair of pre-loved Patent Leather Dr Martens from a seller on Yaga. The seller mentioned that there is a crack and peel on the fold of the shoes. The images portrayed a minimal crack and peel on the shoes. From the glance of the images they still look wearable. I proceeded to purchase the shoes.

I received the shoes via courier. The shoes were severely peeling and cracked not as portrayed in the seller's images.

For a chance of the success of the purchase I took it to the cobbler to get advise on the shoes for a possible repair. The cobbler refused to even touch the shoes and said they are severely flawed and no cobbler will work on these shoes. They are beyond repair.

I then shared with the seller my disappointment in the purchase and that I would like to return it for a refund. The seller then requests images of the severity of the damages and peeling of the shoes. I send images indicating with my finger the severity of the peeling and damages.

The seller immediately accuses me of further damaging/tampering with the shoes. The seller accuses me of tampering with the shoes by taking it to a cobbler also my finger pointing on the images indicates I am tampering with the shoes. The seller refuses to take the shoes back and refuses to co-operate with me in wanting to return the shoes. I even offer to pay for the courier charges to return the shoes.

I report this to Yaga via email. Yaga assures me that they will look into the matter and investigate.

Yaga then concludes in favour of the seller that sold falsely portrayed preloved shoes with gentle flaws that turned out to be severe flaws. Yaga falsely accuses me by using information I have shared with the seller i.e. taking it to the cobbler (where he refused touching the shoes) and my finger pointing images of the severe peeling and cracking of the shoes. The images where I am pointing at the severe peeling Yaga claims is proof I further damaged and tampering with the shoes. They even use a manipulative tactic by saying that they have “proof” of me tampering with the shoes referring to my finger pointing images of the damages that I forwarded to the seller.

Yaga then offers me to release the funds via the app to the seller by accepting the purchase, once completing that, they would then transfer me 35% compensation for the cost of the purchase, this does not include the courier and protection fee I was charged at the sale. They also cheekily write I can sell the shoes for the remaining balance loosed or donate the shoes to someone needy. Yaga also writes that I can take it up with the courier for a claim that they damaged the shoes in transit. Yaga does not regulate how sellers package their items, so I do not understand how I would take up this challenge with the courier company. The seller placed the shoes in a Superbalist box smaller than the length of the shoes, it was not placed in a shoe box. The box and the courier bag surrounding the box was unscathed. I would also need the seller to co-operate in the claim to divulge or confirm information. The seller refuses to further communicate with me. Yaga is aware of this matter and they still suggest a claim with the courier company?

I am at a greater loss than the seller. I was deceived by images in purchasing the shoes that was portrayed as gentle flaws, turned out to be severe flaws. I have paid 700rand + courier + Yaga protection fee. On the seller’s side they have only advanced a courier fee, they didn't even pay for packaging because the shoes were placed in a Superbalist box smaller that the length of the shoes. They have had their full wear of the shoes they sold to me.

I suggest Yaga needs to up their coaching and guidance in seller behaviour and processing of sales. Regulate how items are packaged by the sellers. Also they need to facilitate guidelines to sellers what is appropriate behaviour towards buyers and what is not acceptable behaviour towards buyers. Also images presented of sellers of their preloved items need to very clearly indicate flaws so that buyers are aware of the full extent of the wear and tear of the pre loved items.

Not happy with Yaga as of late

Not happy with Yaga as of late. The buyer protection fee is scam because I received an item that is flawed when it was marked as new with tags and I didn't realise the full extent but the money has been sent but now I can't get a refund?? Make it make sense what's the point of the fee then if it doesn't help for anything very irritated!
