Bought tickets for drone show

Bought tickets for drone show, purchased one too many by mistake. Contacted yuup immiedietly for refund of the extra ticket, told "refunds as tickets for this event are non-refundable as per Yuup’ terms and conditions."
This i am fairly certain is a breach of online distance selling regs, Very poor. Search gov for selling regs, wont allow me to paste the link!

We need to be more flexible when it's a genuine mistake which the customer flags to us immediately after purchase. A wonderful evening!

A wonderful evening watching a Christmas Carol at Gloucestershire cricket ground just before Christmas. Sadly the original date was cancelled due to poor weather but really enjoyed the second chance to watch the show on the reserve night. The narration by Matt Lucas was the icing on the cake. Excited for the Wizard of Oz later this year!

A Christmas Carol .

Went to Gloucester Cricket ground Bristol last night to see a Christmas Carol. Dramatic and very entertaining. We even forgot about the Bristol weather while we were transported to Victorian London. Lights music and narration all superb. Helpful staff too !

Went to A Christmas Carol drone show in Bristol on Thursday 19th December. The show was amazing! Unlike anything else on offer for Christmas entertainment.

Not at all impressed with their…

Not at all impressed with their communication. For over 24 hrs I have been waiting for a response to simply change a booking. There are places available for Saturdays laser light show in Bristol and I had inadvertently booked for Friday (web booking on an iPhone is glitchy so had to enter several times and on the final time I must have got the wrong day). Have web messages twice, no phone number on website and their email address posted does not exist “hello at Yuup.co” Perhaps it should be .com? - I have tried that as well. No response to Twitter. I would love them just to respond to any form of contact. They have my phone number and they could ring me! If an event company wants to succeed they are dependent on their customers … and if I get no response I shall certainly not recommend to anyone. If I do get to the light show and it’s good I will give a glowing report!

A company that doesn’t understand its…

A company that doesn’t understand its own terms and conditions and has given a masterclass in how not to communicate. The whole episode could well be covered in the BBC’s PR podcast “When it hits the fan”.

I wouldn’t use them again as I fundamentally don’t feel that they are a trustworthy organisation. Too little too late in rowing back on refunds.

Don’t be fooled

Following on from my recent review that Dominic the CEO replied too.

I will no let it go that this company are acting now like they’ve been the good guys offering refunds. They sent numerous emails saying this event was non-refundable, despite our booking terms and condition claiming they were in the case of an event being cancelled. They then tried TO CHANGE THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS overnight which to me is mental. We still had access to the original thank goodness but this was them covering their back or trying too.

We then had an email saying that the Christmas Carol even was postponed until March which was a completely different wizard of oz event that we could transfer too….an event we didn’t book!!

Refunds only offered because of these trust pilot reviews and thankfully media and new outlets shouting our voices! DO NOT BE FOOLED!

mishandled the drone event made good?

Having completely mishandled the drone Nottingham Christmas Drone show cancellation refund communication it appears remuneration is now being paid. I’ll certainly be updating this to a 5 star review once in my account. As mentioned in all correspondence, I accept that the cancellation was outside of yuups control, however contingency for poor weather especially since the UK is now a hotspot for December storms should’ve been in place. Hopefully less learned and years of continuing successful business.

Cancelled the gig then made getting a refund really hard. Do not book with them. Offered a credit etc. it's my money.... I hope they get what's coming to them.

Update: the CEO has backtracked and done what he should have done in the first place but only after it was published in the Nottingham Evening Post. I am disgusted with them. Dominic you're a greedy Mr burns type character. Morally bankrupt. Acting like you did the right thing. You initially refused. You're a scum bag and that's all there is to it. You've misjudged this situation badly. You think you're smart but from where I'm sitting youre a silly nerd who will one day piss off the wrong person.

You know fine well the distress you caused people before Christmas. You got 8000 emails to deal with from your own inept ability to do the right thing first time. I absolutely hate the fact you haven't publicly apologised. You disgust me.

I very rarely write a review but on this occasion I felt it was necessary. Yuup as a company have been exceptional in their communication and despite their terms and conditions stating no refunds would be given for cancelled events they have now offered full refunds for the drone show in Nottingham which unfortunately got cancelled due to the storm. Well done Yuup

Read the T&C carefully before booking.

Booked to see the Christmas Carol drone show in Nottingham, due to Storm Darrah the show had to be cancelled. This is understandable and outside their control. However rather than offering refund they attempted to hind behind term and conditions to keep hold of the money. Despite their T&C clearly stating that a refund should be offer. Terrible customer service!

I would not be using this company…

I would not be using this company again. Yes, it was cancelled due to poor weather, which is understandable but ONLY offering only tickets, no refund, for a show they are hosting in Easter 2025. This is just not acceptable with no customer service replies to my message at all and no other way to contact them. i will be contacting my bank to explain this to them for them to take it on.

In response to your reply below, No I have not received an offer of a refund...this is what I have received from you in my account.

I wouldn't even give 1 star

I wouldn't even give 1 star. Apparently, a red warning storm isn't an expectional circumstance to give a refund. I was supposed to go on Saturday but due to the storm it was cancelled. I requested a refund and I got an email to say they've rebooked me for Monday, not even asking if I could attend or not! They also said I could change to the Sunday too. Again not asking me if I could attend. When i replied to the email advising I could not, emails were ignored. Facebook comments and posts were being deleted from their social media and when we got an email from the CEO stating all events for the Christmas show was cancelled for Nottingham and that we would not be getting refunds, we were told we had to go to the March event or November event next year. I advised I did not want to see the March event as I wanted a christmas show at Christmas which it what I booked the tickets for and asked for a refund. Again, no reply and ignored. I'll be surprised the company will be around for November 2025 with how this has gone so I did not want to wait a year for my ticket to be cancelled again and my money being eaten away. A bit of a scam business if you ask me, no contact number to speak to and just emails which they cherry pick and response telling us when we can go and not offering refunds after they cancelled and really bad weather.

Scammers and thieves

Scammers and thieves! Do not ever book with this company! You can not change your terms and conditions AFTER cancelling an event?! This company is absolutely appalling. It has taken the Nottingham BBC radio to get involved and fight for us before Yuup would back down and refund everyone their hard earned money! Shame on you, disgusting company.

Absolute Cowboys - Christmas Carol Drone Show cancellation

Like others on here, I myself bought tickets for Christmas Carol Drone show but have been struggling to get any reply since it was "postponed"(their words). The only reply I had after the first show was postponed, I was given the whole T&C's (read the smallprint), no refund etc. They then claim to have "postponed" the show again (cancelled - because there are no further dates and the show isn't going ahead at all). Absolute cowboys still refusing the give a refund as per email received today. I waited for a reply but have gone through my credit card provider instead.
