Είμαι ελληνίδα πολίτης η οποία σπουδάζει στο εξωτερικό. Όταν πήρα το πλοίο από Πειραιά στο Πόρο και έλεγξαν τη φοιτητική κάρτα εξωτερικού τη δέχτηκαν. Από Πόρο στο Πειραιά αρνήθηκαν τη φοιτητή κάρτα. Ο κύριος ήταν αγενής και δε δέχτηκε καν να ακούσει τα επιχειρήματα μου. Δεν είναι σωστό ο ένας εργαζόμενος να λέει κάτι άλλο και ο άλλος κάτι άλλο. Να υπάρχουν οι ίδιοι κανόνες για όλους για να ξέρουν και οι επιβάτες τι ισχύει! Είναι απλά απαράδεκτο!

Can't get my ticket
I am in Iraklia and the Agency there say they can't print my ticket for the ferry tomorrow, "just go to the port". Fortunately I have printed out the confirmation email. I hope this is OK but these days you shouldn't sell online ferry routes where you can't issue an e-ticket or a scannable PDF from the ferry company.
I walked past your office in Naxos yesterday and if I'd known I'd have gone in and asked you to print it!

We hope that you managed to travel okay without a printed ticket - on ferry small islands like Iraklia they may have more informal systems for travelling. You did the right thing by going to an agency and if they said you were okay to travel then we presume that this is how things operate there. However, this is not normally the case.
Regarding your general point that companies should not sell tickets that are not e-tickets online, we completely sympathize and agree with this sentiment. However, it is the ferry companies themselves that must decide whether they want to work electronically or not. And unfortunately in Greece there are still many companies that don't offer e-tickets (either directly or with their booking partners). If a company provides e-tickets we mention this very clearly on our website so that our customers have the full information when booking and for all companies that offer e-tickets we also allow e-ticket booking on our website.

Booking OK but no e-ticket with necessary code
Booking a ferry crossing (Astakós-Itháki) went well. But because we did not get an e-ticket with the necessary code, we had to plan an extra visit to your local agent to get the final ticket, as prescribed in the confirmation. However, 13th June, at the site in Astakós - after queueing - the local agent refused to print a ticket with code: "just go to the ferry with your confirmation". That didn't make things easier, as the ferry people kept the confirmation, which was just our print of the confirmation e-mail (incl. return crossing) and our only document. The only peace of paper we had left was a piece of page 2 (which I had teared off to be sure to have left at least sómething), with (fortunately) our names. So on the island we had to go urgently to your agent in Vathí. Fortunately we arrived on a Thursday afternoon, so we could go to the agency on Friday morning, as the office is only open on weekday mornings. And again they refused to print a code. Starting from our names they looked up our booking number and wrote it by hand (!) on that little piece of paper. Sunday morning the ferry people did not make any difficulties, so we could enjoy a smooth crossing. We advise Zas Ferries to inform if it is still necessary to send people to the local offices. Just make sure to have separate printed confirmations for departure en return crossings to hand over to the ferry people.

Thank you for booking with us and thank you for taking the time to write this kind review. Unfortunately, the company you booked with (Ionian Pelagos) does not offer e-tickets yet.
The situation you describe with the agency refusing to print the tickets is very strange. We have never heard of anything like that happening before. You cannot board a ferry with just a number. This should not be allowed. The agencies we mention on our tickets are not "our" agencies but just the designated agencies for that ferry company on the island.
All we can think is that on a very small island things may be more laissez-faire but this is still very strange. We're very sorry about what happened here and we understand how frustrating this must have been. However, the fault lies with the agency. We will be contacting the ferry company to understand the situation better and to ask how and why their agencies are just writing numbers on pieces of paper rather than printing tickets.
We're glad however, that things worked out okay in the end. We thank you once again for your booking and we hope you might consider us again in the future.

I went through the process of booking Ferry tickets but did NOT click “Pay” for the transaction.
This unauthorised payment was taken from my account, my bank are taking steps to dispute the transaction and seeking a refund.

Hi,
Thank you for trying to book with us and we're sorry that you find yourself in this situation. We can truly sympathize. However, by the time you got in contact with us, the ferry that you had booked had already sailed (you had booked for the next day) so there was nothing we could do in terms of getting your money back. Something we would have liked to have done.
The situation you describe regarding not pressing "Pay" did not occur (technically and legally it's impossible), however we can appreciate that when you are hurried and making travel plans (and possibly multi-tasking) it's easy to make mistakes.
To be clear, our payments occur directly with the bank we work with (Alpha Bank - Greece's third largest bank established in 1918). With their system, you would have had to input your credit or debit card details, press "Pay" and then confirm the payment (normally on your phone) through the 3D secure system. There is simply no way to pay without doing these things on the Alpha Bank system.
If you wish to continue with your refund request we would kindly suggest contacting the ferry company involved telling them that you entered the wrong dates. They may have some sympathy and offer you a partial refund. This has happened in the past. But as the ferry has sailed, we can't guarantee anything or have any influence over this. It us up to their discretion.
We're very sorry once again for the situation you find yourself in and would like to thank you once again for using our services. We hope that you might consider booking with us again. If you do pursue the matter with the ferry companies, we wish you the best of luck.
