Shocked and sadened !!

Manager said i needed a receipt to complain about a yetti bottle i purchased €50 , i did not keep receipt as i thought i love it I dont need an exchange .this a structural problem its chipping where i hold it . I told Robert I paid with Revolut so could establish time and date and location I bought but no not able to help , he would not tell me area manager name said he was away Robert was store manager and his word was final he said i could come to shop with bottle but not his problem without a receipt Shocking customer service , really bad ive spent so much money over thr years at 53 degrees north carrickmines feel sad

Bought a few Patagonia products from 53 degrees Cork outlet
Find the staff friendly, knowledgeable and not in your face,
All products I bought have been top notch and used my 10 pc discount last 3 times ( Irish mountaineering membership)

Ignored in shop

I walked into the store in Blanchardtown with a €500 budget for walking shoes and sleeping bag. I was the only person in the shop and I was completely ignored by the staff for at least 20 minutes.
So I just walked out.

No returns or replacements

I tried returning a faulty product (gloves that started disintegrating after 2 weeks) to the Arnotts shop but was directed back to the branch I purchased it in (Carrickmines). What's the point of having branches if they cannot deal with your customer base? Avoid

Good customer service

I logged a complaint about an item. Management called me, clearly explained the background, and resolved the issue. They were happy to offer a refund. Great customer service.

how bad their online support is

I’m very surprised how bad their online support is: I ordered two items and needed a change of size, all great. I paid for postage return and they shipped the different sizes items - with security tags still on them.
That was Tuesday,

I emailed to let them know at lunchtime Tuesday - no reply.
I emailed on Wednesday at lunchtime - no reply.
I sent an Insta DM on Wednesday - no reply.
I emailed again on Thursday - no reply,
I sent a second Insta DM on Thursday and FINALLY got a reply,
I then got an email because the Insta team asked the ‘web’ team to email.

They have told me they’re sending new (un tagged?) items and have booked a DPD collection at 1pm today for the tagged items.
It’s 1:40pm and no sign of DPD.

Never have I experienced anything like this. This store has great products but if you’re buying don’t risk ordering online, it’s 4 days of time wasting and still not over for me. If you’re buying from them go into a store.

Update: they just sent two new products I tagged but guess what: they’re the wrong size!! I think their staff are just doing this to annoy me to be honest. Otherwise they’re completely incompetent.

I thought they were a good shop

I thought they were a good shop. First time bought didn't go well. The one in arnotts is useless. Only a concession shop you can't exchange things. No I have to go back to Blanchardstown, took half a day of AL at work. Do NOT buy any inflatable mattresses with built in pump. Useless. They're useless and now I'll have to change it and spend more. From 32 to almost 100 euros including external pump. Waste of time

Great service from Jack

Visited 53 degrees North in Blanchard's town to buy a pair of hiking boots. Jack gave me outstanding service and had great patience with me. Definitely candidate for employee of the month.

Answer your emails please

Super disappointed in the quality of both Columbia items I received, one was faulty from the time I took it out of its packaging and the logo on the leggings peeled off before I even got to wash it…
Return organised for the first one. Unfortunately the customer service is way below what I expected. Numerous emails not answered, phone calls not returned despite assurance. Going on for two weeks now!
I definitely won’t be ordering again

Top service

I bought a pair of hiking boots from 53 Degrees North online this week. I needed them in a hurry, another website had let me down an I need to break them in before a trekking trip in a few weeks. They ensured speedy shipping for me and the boots arrived within 24 hours. Great boots and communication. First purchase from them but will definitely be back again.

I bought two mummy sleeping bags €90 each and they were so tight and uncomfortable I brought them back and 53 degrees north refused to do anything for me .there was no after care at all .
Bottom line no come back so don't spend your money there .

Visited the Carrickmines store the…

Visited the Carrickmines store the other day and bought a new pair of running shoes with great help from James. I appreciated his patience and attentiveness finding what was right for me. A brilliant service and never felt like I was being oversold anything. I’ll definitely be back to buy my next pair. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks guys.

Amazing Customer Service at Carrickmines…

Was recently visiting the Carrickmines store as I needed a new jacket and boots. I cannot be grateful enough to James for helping choose a pair of boots, and Fiona for helping me with choosing a new North Face jacket that will stand the fickle nature of Irish weather and last for a long time. The two are a credit to their store, and I'll certainly be back again. Fantastic customer service!

Extremely Poor Customer Service

Extremely poor customer service. Ordered a jacket few months ago and got an email to say it was dispatched. A few days later, I got a refund which only meant the jacket was actually not in stock! Gave them another chance and recently placed another order for a jacket. This one did arrive but had it's security tag still on it! I emailed their webstore but got no response. I had to bring it back to their Carrickmines store to return and did not even get an apology! They just laughed at the fact that someone had dispatched the jacket without removing the security tag! Will never be shopping here again. Lousy & rude customer service is an understatement...

An update: Despite a standard response to my review above, I have still not heard from their customer service team.

Zips in Jackets NOT cover by Warranty? - This "Company Policy" is false!

Zips in Jackets NOT cover by Warranty - Their "Company Policy" is illegal & contrary to your consumer rights.

Having bought a North Face (great Brand) jacket in October, the zip broke in December. When I returned to 53 Degrees North in Carrickmines, to get a new jacket, I was informed by 2 members of staff that the zips on any of their jackets are NOT Covered by warranty.

When I challenged this, all they would say was it is company policy. When I asked to see the policy displayed, they didn't have it and nor could they find it - not in print, on display or on their web site. The main reason for this is that it would be illegal to have such a policy - a zip is an integral part of a jacket.

I'm off the the Consumer Rights Commission and will not let this go as I feel they have cheated me.

Here is the Latest - GOT A REPLACEMENT JACKET & A SURPRISE - the people in 53 Degrees North, Carrickmines replaced my jacket AND have Barred me from their shop for defending my consumer rights. WOW - I would NEVER, EVER go back there anyway, but this is offensive!

My Advice to anyone - know your rights and defend them - do not accept this fobbing off "Company Policy" of your rights - if goods are faulty, you have significant rights.

From the Consumer Protection Agency - your contract is with the shop and not the manufacturer. If they want to send it back to the manufacturer, that is fine but you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.

I’ve always been a fan of 53 degrees…

I’ve always been a fan of 53 degrees north and have bought everything from boots to baselayers over the past few years. I recently purchased a Rab microlight alpine jacket as it was on a fantastic price - chose to shop with 53 degrees north as I had always been a fan previously. Very excited about this and waiting for it to come only for the order to be cancelled with no warning as the site didn’t switch to out of stock. No option to wait until this was back in stock or change to a different colour that was in stock (would’ve been happy to do either as it’s not needed for a few months yet).

Managed to get this jacket today though with Cotswolds in town, missed out on the sale and had to pay €60 more for it but it was actually in stock - very impressed with their service too so they’ll be my first choice going forward.
