Graham was excellent
Graham was excellent. Cannot fault him for anything. Class teacher and genuinely a really really nice bloke. Never got a test through 5 day, so that part is slightly frustrating when you’re paying out!

We understand your frustration regarding the wait for a driving test. To clarify, the test fee is included in the course cost and once you have completed the programme, our team begins sourcing the earliest available test appointment on your behalf.
However, current DVSA backlogs remain significant nationwide and as test availability is solely managed by the DVSA, this can result in delays that are unfortunately beyond our control.
Please rest assured that we’re continually checking for cancellations and earlier dates to get you booked in as soon as possible.

My instructor Carol Townsend was amazing
I was rather worried about driving but Carol was lovely and reassuring, she quickly understood my strengths and weaknesses and how I thought so she taught accordingly. I've come so far in a week and passed my theory first try thanks to both Carol and Chris Wise. The week was exhausting and I still need practice before my practical test but it's a really good start and I should be in time.

Thanks to taking an intensive with Shabana in Leeds I have today passed my driving test on my first attempt!!! Shabana is an incredibly experienced instructor who has worked so hard during my intensive to keep me motivated and get me as prepared as possible. She has the most amazing balance of kindness and positivity. She has pushed me forward and cheered me on to the point I feel confident in my driving which I never thought could be possible! Intensive 5‑Day Driving Course – Good effort but expectations need adjusting
My son attended the 5DAY intensive driving course and I’d like to share our honest experience.
✅ What they deliver:
• A 5‑day consecutive block of driving instruction and theory training.
• Payment in full required at booking time (or large deposit + balance) for the full package.
• The first theory test is booked for you.
❌ What they don’t deliver as clearly:
• The practical driving test date is not guaranteed and may take many months. The terms clearly state that due to nationwide backlog the company “does not guarantee the availability of a test within a specific timeframe.”
• Despite claims of “fast‑track test service”, they are limited to the official DVSA booking platform and have no special priority.
• Once you pay the full course cost, you are locked into the schedule and if you need to cancel/move the course you lose the fee, unless you give 20 working days’ written notice and meet strict conditions.
For us: After completing the course in September, the earliest practical test date offered is April next year – nearly 7 months later. For many learners, this means a long wait during which withheld practice may reduce their readiness, and potential extra lessons (not included in the package) become necessary.
💡 My advice: If you are considering an intensive 5‑day course, you must read the fine print, ask exactly when your test will be, and realise you may still face long waiting times. At the very least, keep practising independently while you wait. If flexibility and timing matter a lot to you, it may be better to consider another pathway.
This company provides genuine training, but the “learn to drive in 5 days and test immediately” narrative is misleading — it really means “intensive training in 5 days” then potentially many months of waiting for the test.
I hope this helps other learners and parents make a fully informed decision.

We want to reassure parents and learners that all course details, including test booking procedures, waiting times and cancellation policies are clearly explained on our website and during calls with our team.
While the course provides intensive training in 5 days and includes booking the first theory test, the practical driving test is subject to DVSA availability, which can sometimes result in long waits.
To clarify, nowhere in our literature or point-of-sale materials do we claim to offer a test “immediately" after.
We also advise learners to search for their own practical test dates due to the nationwide DVSA backlog and to continue practising independently while waiting to maintain confidence and readiness.
Additionally, we were unable to provide specific assistance in this case because the booking reference was not provided, despite our request. Without this information, we cannot confirm the learner driver or offer tailored support.
Our goal is to provide thorough training and guidance throughout the process and feedback like yours helps other learners make fully informed decisions.

I passed!
Had the 5day course booked from October 27th to the 31st with Tony in Bury St Edmunds, I was nervous as I'd previously failed 2 tests 5 years ago but Tony put me at ease straight away. His teaching methods were amazing, always praising me when I did something right and of course not so much when I didn't do something right 😂 He explained everything so well which made retaining what he was teaching me a while lot better. I also booked the theory through 5day which I sat on November 3rd which I passed. Straight away Tony was on to booking me a test and he managed to get me on the following week. I took that test today and I passed with only 3 minors 🙂 I can't thank him enough, he was brilliant.

Excellent intensive course
Excellent intensive course. Based in Norwich and Phil Booth was my intensive instructor. Great week! Got great advice and teaching, within 2 days i was feeling confident behind the wheel. Phil was brilliant with listening and adapting to how i learn! He also pushed me to believe i could do what he was asking. My biggest worry was who i was going to get as an instructor but as soon as i met him i felt comfortable.

Rob Harris (I think that’s his last name) is such a great driving instructor helped me so much and he helped me to pass my test first time! He’s calm cool and collected and is very helpful! I done my crash course in September then just passed today after a few more lessons with rob!

The instructor reduced my 18 year old…
The instructor reduced my 18 year old son to tears on the 2nd day, to the extent he wouldn't go back in the car with him. The complaint process is flawed as they say they need third party evidence. How is this possible with no one else in the car. Refused to refund by hiding behind small print.

However, we have not received any direct communication from the learner themselves to outline their concerns or provide details of the incident. Without this, we were not given the opportunity to investigate or attempt to resolve any issues between the learner and the instructor.
Intensive driving courses can be challenging, and while many learners thrive in this environment, we understand that for some, the pace can feel overwhelming - often this becomes apparent within the first couple of days.
In this instance, asking another learner to switch instructors partway through their own 5Day course would have been unfair and disruptive to their training.
We do take all feedback seriously and would still welcome the opportunity to discuss this matter directly with the learner to reach a fair resolution.

Great experience
Great experience. Mo is a brilliant and patient driving instructor who helped me go from 0 experience driving to being able to fully drive a manual car. Glenn is also a friendly and knowledgeable tutor who helped me pass my theory test first try with only 4 days of tutoring and some independent revising.

Poor service
The training itself was ok, it was the service and test booking which means it gets 1 star. Having had assurances 2 times the week before his test the driver was booked and his car available to take the test in. We waited on the day of the test, on time but the driver didn’t show. We messaged him and he didn’t have the booking. This didn’t help my son’s stress before the test. We drove to the test and was able to explain the situation to the examiner. Fortunately I had taken a car he could use and with the examiner making some adjustments he was luckily able to take his test.
When I spoke to 5day they didn’t want to take any responsibility, instead blaming the driver and didn’t even have the courtesy to follow it up after the test. I am now waiting a better response from the complaint I have sent. It is also quite an inflexible payment model. Especially if you have taken your theory already, so more like 2.5daycouk

We assisted the pupil throughout their course and ensured they were fully prepared for their test.
While there was an issue with the instructor’s availability on the day, support was provided and the learner successfully passed. Given this outcome, it is difficult to reconcile the comments made here with the fact that the programme clearly achieved its intended result.
Regarding the theory element, this is clearly advised at the point of booking. We only offer one course option, which includes theory training as part of the package. The learner was made aware of this and chose to proceed with the booking on that basis.
We are currently reviewing a complaint email received this morning, which has not been submitted by the actual learner driver. Therefore, the comments reflect a second party’s experience, not the customer’s own.

I had my 5 day course with Carol in Ipswich last week, in October. I was fairly new to driving, with only one lesson beforehand and a small amount of practice with my parents. Carol helped to build my confidence and understand all the rules of the road. I had passed my theory test prior to my course, so we had lots of time to understand the practical side. Carol was so helpful and I have managed to pass my practical test already! I could not recommend this course more and it was definitely the right choice for me to get me driving more quickly!

i really recommend 5day, my instructor james from peterborough was great and understood my worries and anxiousness with driving (with only a few hours of lessons prior) made me feel at ease and explained things and showed me things in the best way for me and had plenty of patience which was very much needed. i can not fault james one bit, i highly recommend. ive come from this course more confident than i thought i ever would’ve been especially in 5 days. thank you 5day and thank you james !!

This is a review from my brother who did this course with 5Day-
DO NOT waste your money on this scam of a company, I wish I had read the reviews before booking with them and paying £1500.
I did my course in NOVEMBER 2024!!! Manchester branch. Passed my theory in Feb 2025 (after failing first go) and informed them straight away about passing my theory so they could book my practical in. Received one email to say will be in touch within the next 20 working days. NOT ONCE have I heard anything from them since, I’ve chased several times to be palmed off with attitude and both times said the same thing ‘you’re first on the list’ what since February 2025!!????? ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!! Scamming a 17 year old out of money, you should be ashamed.
We have tried to come to an agreement before going ahead with legal proceedings but have got nowhere ONCE AGAIN. So this is now going ahead.
Now they’re trying to say I haven’t been in contact enough as they’re saying they need to see if I’m test ready… actually laughable! You pay £1500 to have to chase them??? And how am I meant to know you need to see if I’m test ready IF YOU DO NOT CONTACT ME!!???? And why would the staff who we spoke to TWICE not say this on the phone instead of palming me off with the same thing ‘you’re first on the list’ which was clearly an outright lie!
Everyone we have had the displeasure of dealing with has the worst attitude, not helpful and just outright rude.
Please do not waste your money on this shoddy company there are much better ones and I fully regret my decision of going with them.
Don’t bother replying your stupid fake replies to this like you have the others, I’m doing this to warn people against this company and don’t get their hard earned cash taken from them.

Great theory, bad practical
The theory training was brilliant. Glenn was very knowledgeable and had little ways of remembering stuff. He also gave good tips for the test.
My practical instructor wasn’t good. He was often late starting and finished early all the time. We drove to the shops for him to buy food which he ate during my lessons. I did complain to 5 day but they haven’t responded to the email.
