Loyal customer lost
We have been clients of this company for over three decades. That has now ended.
When a panel cover on our washer lifted after a repair they did with it, causing our lid to catch on it, break, and need pushing and holding down to lock, I called the company to explain the issue and sent photos. When the problem originated, we had an out-of-town trip planned, and I decided we'd have to leave it until we were home. At the time of my return and initial call, we were just two weeks out of the 90-day warranty. The company refused to take any responsibility and chose to stick to the warranty period. I explained our loyalty across three homes we’ve owned. The receptionist, Lindsey was kind but unfortunately unable to do anything. I made 4 calls to speak to the supervisor, Anthony, and was promised he’d call me. The call never came. I followed up and she told me to try to call the next day (he was always out of the office when I called). I decided 4 calls were enough and Anthony had no interest in keeping this loyal customer (who had referred to them many times over the years) was not worth bothering with.
The techs employed by the company have been professional and kind. Unfortunately, the management leaves much to be desired.
I’m going with a DIY as it does not appear to be a complicated issue to replace the lid based on research we did, following the lack of response from Anthony.
Sadly, this company lost a long-time customer over a problem they could have probably spent half an hour or less fixing.
Edit after finding additional info: see that this company is not accredited with the BBB.
Reading that 800Appliance/Appliance Rescue is connected to home warranty companies and manufacures to do repairs. They obviously don't feel the need for the unaffiliated random caller; we are not their bread and butter. They figure their biz will be busy enough with these other contracts. Customer service doesn't mean a thing anymore. Such a shame.
