I am deeply disappointed with the level of customer service at AIB. My recent experience reflects a severe lack of professionalism and accountability. I contacted customer support regarding a serious issue with my account, and the representative I spoke with repeatedly failed to provide clear answers or assistance. Instead of genuinely trying to resolve the matter, she became dismissive and even threatened to hang up during the conversation which is entirely unacceptable behavior for a financial institution handling customers’ money.
I was assured that a manager would follow up with me; however, I never received any call or communication afterward. This demonstrates not only neglect, but a systemic failure in how customer concerns are handled.
This situation has caused unnecessary frustration, wasted time, and left me with no resolution to the issue I raised. For a bank of AIB’s size and reputation, this level of service is shocking and completely unprofessional. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend AIB to anyone who expects reliability, respect, and proper customer care.

Went to AIB Abbeyfeale,Limerick to transfer money to Western Union was not familiar with the self service kiosk ,however MARIE was most helpful and guided me through the process .
Also because it was a euro Bank transfer AIB to Western Union Bank there were no transaction fees( ( only Western unions €20 fee).The same transaction to Western Union done at a post office .
An Post transaction fee would be €167.00.
SO VERY SLOW - ridiculous
Today I went to lodge €300 (6 x €50 notes) and order some foreign currency. There was only one person in front of me who was at the counter & just finishing. After being at the counter for 20 minutes I had to leave before the transactions were done. The girl serving was so slow it was ridiculous & my husband was waiting outside & had an appointment in a few minutes so I had to leave it. It’s such a farce that there is only 1 teller but surely if that’s all they have it should be someone who can serve quicker.

I am currently out of the country and ordered a card for delivery to the country where I currently located. I called AIB for an ETA and I was told that the card had been shipped by post - the post office of the country where I am located for next couple of months has been defunct for many years. In addition AIB cannot provide any tracking details so I have no idea where my bank card is. I was not given the option for express delivery which I would have gladly paid for. I am in a difficult predicament because I cannot use my money and I cannot even order a digital card until the arrival of the physical card! It is extremely outrageous.

Uses coercion and extortion with threats over some missed loan payment due to business cashflow issues, that I promised i would sort once funds are in. No flexibility at all. Won´t give me 14 days - want the money now, end of month or I get put on some list. Never mind I am a long term customer and have paid over 25K back and we are down to the last 5-6 months of that, so very little over all. And also I have paid lump sums whenever i could, and it was my intention to do so again. They claim they sent letters - never got them. So without warning they cancelled my card. They are disgusting and greedy and now they totally ruined the customer relationship to what end? It is not like I can just shit money on a "Turdsday" afternoon. They want money now but I don't have it - that is it. What can I do? It has not been a good year. I am sure there are worse payers than me. Shame on them... oh and forget about restructuring anything, that is never an option. May as well use subprime lenders or some local mafia/drug gang as there is little difference it seems. Also i could send them invoice copies to prove it is really just waiting for funds that is the issue.

I had a problem with a bank because of overdraft fees. I closed my account because AIB was basically scamming me by charging €10 a day. They promised they would close the account, but I later found out they didn’t. Then they told me a lot of nonsense. Only after they received a pre-court letter did they finally close it. Otherwise, they would have kept it open after my request to close it, charging me €10 a day for a low balance on an account that should have been closed long ago. I will never take a mortgage with AIB.

I recently had my internet banking hacked while in Marbella Spain on holidays, not only did AIB not question the 6000 EURO being transferred out of my account in the early hours of the morning in a foreign country (never before did I do it) they told me almost immediately that they were in no way accountable (by letter) NOT EVEN A PHONECALL, an institution I have been a member of since my teen years, I would advise anyone to look elsewhere when opening an account, and any present account holders to close up and move elsewhere. A money grabbing business with no loyalty or respect for its clients.
Thieves
Absolutely thieves took over a grand out of my account that I had already paid back, caused me to go over my over draft and probably going to charge me fees andimpacted my credit. All I did was pay the money back early and they took it out fully again.

Banking app won't allow me to pay one of my bills. Contacted help desk who said they were aware of issue and would add my case to ticket. Didn't sound if they were in any hurry to resolve it.

It was perhaps the most helpful experience I've ever had.Briefly it was the third time I had contacted AIB Customer Services about the same issue, namely why I could no longer top up my Caxton card from my AIB GB sterling account as I had been doing successfully for 22 years. The automated message said I would now be called by AIB to confirm my purchase on the Caxton app. However that call never arrived and so I was unsuccessful in topping up my card. Finally an agent called Ruth from Card Services (Staff number: 82039) was so competent, so patient and so thorough that she resolved my problem. She even went further and led me through the process of unblocking unknown numbers which was the reason she initially had failed to get through to me on my mobike. Hence I am very grateful to her for her expert guidance through this process also.

I I have had an account there for over 15 years and they refused to grant me a loan of 1,200 euros, where I am employed permanently 32 hours contract depends on the hours worked, but I always have over 40 a week and receive over 2,000 euros a month. Now I am sick and will be on Sickpay.2 weeks, they expect a certificate from my employer that I will return to work. I sent them a contract in which it is clearly written that sick pay is paid for each sick leave. Besides, in previous years I was employed for a 22-hour contract and received a larger loan from them which I paid in. Why do they include social welfare income in their loan applications when I heard that it is not included in the criteria for Income Apart from that WFPs for working people. .I am very disappointed and I am thinking about closing my account with AIB and opening one in another bank

App doesnt work, support wont help with fraud purchase over the phone
App hasn't worked well in years, website wont allow login without app so cant see transactions. 300euro fraud internet mobile top up from debit card and phone support wont tell me anything about the transaction, how it happened or how to get it back. I have to go in person to the branch to close the account when I return to Ireland. Just a joke of a service/support.
