Air Canada lost my dad

Air Canada lost my dad. Was supposed to provide accessibility service and didn't. He was jetlagged and confused and ended up with the police. Air Canada took 2 days to react and only did because the police filed a report as he had wheelchair service which was not provided.

I recently flew with Air Canada on flight AC1070 from Dallas to Montreal, and I want to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding experience I had onboard.

Captain Derek Sparkes made my trip unforgettable by personally welcoming me with a handwritten note and a pilot’s wings pin. This incredibly kind and thoughtful gesture truly touched me and made me feel so valued as a passenger.

His warm message and hospitality reflect the highest level of professionalism and care. Thanks to him and the entire crew, I felt safe, comfortable, and genuinely happy throughout the flight. This experience has made me even more loyal to Air Canada, and I will gladly continue to choose your airline for future travels.

Beware of 10€ voucher limitations

It was a nice touch to receive a 10€ voucher when our Air Canada flight Rome to Toronto was delayed by 3 hours. Less than nice was when we tried to use it. We were told to go to one specific place, and there we were told exactly what we could order: one pizza/sandwich, one specific dessert and one pop. When I said that I was celiac and couldn’t eat any of the food they were telling me I had to order, I got the answer from the servers that they were merely following orders and that they couldn’t make any change. There were pre-packaged gluten-free items available, but I was not allowed to get them with the voucher. While people with celiac travel with their own snacks, precisely because of situations like this, this was a very disappointing example of no attention given to anyone who needs dietary accommodations.

Horrible costumer service!!
I’m trying to talk to them about missing flight points for two days in a row, including messenger and X platform. First day was waiting 1 hour in the phone line. 2nd day an attendant named Cory told me that couldn’t help and when I said that it’s unbelievable she laughed on me. Complete disrespect with costumers!

This is probably the worst airline we have used
After a 6.5 hr delay in Vancouver due to a malfunctioning toilet and our application via the flight disruption scheme they abnegated all responsibility saying it was a safety issue
After a 6.5 hr delayed flight they gave us no compensation and an appealing meal and one drink of water

I will never fly with them again and would recommend you didn’t either

Does the stewardess call button really work???

I flew back from Rome Italy to Toronto Canada on July 3. Air Canada flight 891 left Rome at 12:30 PM. I purchased premium economy tickets, which are not cheap at all the entertainment system said all drinks anytime during the flight. So around three hours into the flight, I pinged for a stewardess. To ask for a drink. Nobody came. So I pinned every five minutes for the next hour. And no one came. And I left my Help button on after that. Someone finally came after 1.75 hours and asked me would you like something. I said no. And then, after that, I decided to go back to their galley at the back of the plane and ask the five of them who are standing around if I could get a drink, and I got the drink and had to walk it back to my seat in priority Economy. This is so so disappointing. I guess we as Canadians have to endure our Air Canada because there’s no other player really around there for Canadians Air Canada you need to up your game especially if we pay for premium economy tickets for a long haul flight. Have a good day

Bad customer service

I was calling the customer service because I needed help to finalize my booking. I waited more than 30 min on the line for the next agent that pick my call to hang up on me brutally after cutting me while I was asking my question. She did not even hear what I said and pretended I called for a flight I was booking throughout an agency and while I was explaining I never said that, am using Air Canada website and she should not cut me and let me talk, she just hang up on me. Never seen that kind of rudeness and bad attitude from an airline company customer service. They dont deserve my money at this point.

Delayed every time

Today I am waiting in Chicago to Toronto. Already have been notified my flight from Toronto to final destination is 2 hour delay. My United connections were on time and as soon as Air Canada takes it from there it’s a problem. Every time! Absolutely no exaggeration. Every time

Mon bagage a été perdu par Air Canada…

Mon bagage a été perdu par Air Canada lors de mon vol du 4 mars 2025 (réf. dossier BRUAC14404) et n’a jamais été retrouvé.
Malgré de nombreuses relances et l’envoi de toutes les pièces justificatives, y compris la liste des effets personnels (estimés à 2 000 €) et des frais additionnels de 120 €, je n’ai toujours reçu aucune indemnisation près de deux mois plus tard.

Le service client ne répond plus à mes messages.
J’ai été contrainte de saisir le Centre Européen des Consommateurs.

Ce traitement est inadmissible. Je déconseille vivement cette compagnie si vous tenez à vos bagages… et à un service après-vente sérieux.

Unscrupulous and deceitful, worst customer experience

Air Canada called us to say that they were changing our flights from Canada to India. In lieu, they offered us C$700 compensation per family member (C$2800 in total). The Lady on the phone was helpful, told us there was "no catch" and it would be easy to use the voucher when required.

Fast forward to 5 months later. I tried to book a trip to Europe for ~C$2900. I tried to use the voucher and was told it would only pay for the "base fare" of the tickets. Then I was told the "base fare" (TO EUROPE) is only C$5 per ticket (C$20 total), so I would have to pay the remainder of ~C$2880 by credit card. If you look online, the "base fare" on Expedia is C$500.

Biggest scammers ever. Do not trust if they ever off-board you and offer a voucher.

Worse national company I've ever used

Worse national company I've ever used.

Flight to go:

1. Second flight from Toronto to Cancun delayed several times because of the weather.
2. They left our luggage on the t'arracher for 50 min in the pouding rain and all our clothes were drenched.
3. Tried to give a complaint but customer service is non existent and their facebook is riddled with scammers...

Flight back to Dublin:

1.They decide to change our aircraft without giving an explanation.

2. We learn that because of this our flight is delayed 2 hours !!!!

3. What do they give us ?! A 15$CAN food voucher which isn't even enough to buy food...

A joke of àn airline ! I loved Canada and everything Canadian but this is ridiculous. Get a grip on your service. I prefer to honestly pay more and avoid this airline !!!

Fraud charged for extra bags

ticket clearly said 2 baggage allowed, but as AC partenered with some other airline, they charged me extra for more than 1 bag, when contacted AC they told me this is as per policy only, then why did you book my ticket at first place saying 2 baggage allowed?

Nous avons fait YUL / LAX , avec cette compagnie .
la personne a l'enregistrement désagréable , avion vétuste, sièges cassés et hyper serrés pour bien que les genoux rentrent dans le dos de la personne d'en face . Ecouteur vendu et en plus fonctionnant très mal , une seule oreille , la nourriture médiocre voir mauvaise .
Je ne comprend pas que tout le monde s'en plaint et qu'elle soit encore notée 7,5 / 10 sur google .
Bref une compagnie cher et au service low cost que je déconseille fortement .

The employees were extremely rude. We had an encounter with a woman named Isabelle in Montreal who was particularly disrespectful to my family. As a visible minority, it was clear that we were being treated differently from other customers, and she was very unhelpful. After looking into it on TikTok, I found that this isn’t the first time Air Canada employees have been accused of mistreating people of color.

Delayed flight caused missed next flight

If I could give zero stars…
Our Air Canada flight from Vegas to Vancouver was delayed by many hours due to “mechanical issues” as per air Canada email, in total this single flight was delayed 3 times, which caused our family to completely miss our second flight back home. this is 100% Air Canada fault. At departure gate, air Canada agents initially had told us air Canada would be responsible for rebooking our second flight, we were to find air Canada agents when we land in Vancouver for rearrangements. When we landed in Vancouver we went to their agents (Elaine and her team) at the desk and they told us a completely different story, and told us air Canada is not responsible and we were on our own. We were met with completely inhumane and absolutely irresponsible behaviors from Air Canada agents at the Vancouver airport on night of March 13th. It was already pass 11pm at this time, this air Canadas flight delay caused our family to be stuck in a foreign city overnight with a crying toddler on the side in a stroller

Dear Air Canada Customer Service,

I am requesting full compensation and reimbursement for the major inconvenience caused by the last-minute cancellation of flight AC648 from Toronto to Moncton on Friday night.

Key Issues:
Flight Cancellation – Air Canada’s Responsibility

We boarded the aircraft, only to be told the flight was canceled due to the pilot exceeding flight hours—an operational failure, not weather-related.
Instead of prioritizing rebooking, we were moved from Saturday night to Tuesday morning with no assistance.
Luggage Mishandling – No Communication or Effort

Saturday night: Our luggage was unavailable.
Sunday: We waited 3 hours in line at the airport, but agents couldn’t locate our bags and told us to just "check back."
Monday: We were told our luggage would be sent to Moncton without us, leaving us four days without our belongings and no proactive help from Air Canada.
Impossible to Report the Issue for Compensation

I cannot submit a complaint online because my original booking was with WestJet, and Air Canada’s system does not allow me to report my case properly.
When I contacted Air Canada, agents were unable to manage my case in their system and instead directed me to leave a comment on their website as a way to report the issue.
This process does not allow for proper case handling and makes it unnecessarily difficult to resolve legitimate claims.
Compensation & Immediate Actions Required:
✅ Reimbursement for accommodation, meals, and transport expenses (receipts attached).
✅ Compensation for the avoidable disruption and stress caused by Air Canada.
✅ Immediate resolution of this issue by a real agent, not just a comment on a website.

We expect Air Canada to handle this case directly and resolve it urgently. If no action is taken, we will escalate the matter to the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA).

frustration in Cancun

easy to book; liked the 'idea' of whole package, incl. air travel, accommodations and transport from airport to resort and back again. Canada to Mexico is considered international travel and website says they'll feed us one meal on such a flight - but NO! Instead they give you a menu and charge you for meals. Also, no transport from hotel back to airport was provided, despite being promised, and local agent was useless. Told us to book a taxi and claim money back when we arrived home!
