I spent two weeks trying to get a "free" assessment which is an evaluation when the appointment time comes. Evaluation has a cost but no one can even estimate that cost. Called my insurance and they called Athletico and got 7 CPT or CPI codes that are included in an evaluation. They looked up all the codes and estimated the cost to be between $400.00 and $500.00 for an evaluation. I would pay 20% of the total. I called Athletico and they stated very firmly that may be an estimate but the actual cost of the evaluation cannot be determined until the evaluation has taken place. It could end up that my 20% share could be over $1000.00 or more--that's ridiculous for sure. They have no idea what they will charge BECAUSE they feel free to charge any amount they want and you'll have to pay whatever that is or whatever the insurance doesn't cover. SCAM SCAM SCAM. They have had many many many evalutions done and know what they generally cost. With my insurance company calling them--Athletico still insisted that the cost can only be determined after the evaluation and Athletico determines what they want to charge. WOW WHAT A HORRIBLE COMPANY--STAY CLEAR OF THEM!!!

Not good. They have long wait times, poor phone communication. It is hey we are here for us not for you. Oh, sorry but you have to wait and a week isn't long. Sorry you are in pain but it is not that long. It is the best we can do. You don't mind 7 am. You can always go to another clinic then. Inexcusable. Really uncaring.

My Doctor recommended I ask my therapist to start using an ultrasound & gym equipment for my knee pain & he refused saying that he felt it was not therapeutic and relentlessly made me use balls and rubber bands instead of a bike and tread mill. I'm am totally pissed how nothing I suggested or recommend that would be beneficial in my Aquatic or physical therapy is taken into consideration at this location and feel I'm am being unethically discriminated against as a Indian customer. I have doctors and chiropractic support that are apart of my recovery and his comment about I might as well join a gym when the company obviously has gym equipment is evasive and rhetorically rude. If I cant be treated with operational equipment that is accessible and available to all customers at need than I might as well transfer my care to some place else where my concerns are valued.

I went to Athletico for physical therapy. My copay was $40 per visit. I explained that I am disabled and on a fixed income. I couldn’t afford $120 per week. I managed to do it 2x per week, but it was a struggle. I was encouraged to download their app and a therapist (????) called and bugged me about checking in on the app. I literally felt harassed! Now I found out that her phone calls were considered virtual visits!!!!!! Perhaps, there’s people who want their physical therapist calling and bugging them. I did not. They should be obligated to make it clear that there’s a charge for that. Now, they are saying that I owe for additional visits. I would have never downloaded their app. They called numerous times to see if I downloaded the app and kept checking in. This is sooooo dishonest. I’m not sure what’s I can do other than refuse to pay, but be warned!

I really liked the therapist and the facility and everything and this feels like a scam. I am so disappointed. Just go to a different physical therapist where your visits are just when you show up and not someone “checking in” like they’re doing a survey and charging for a full visit with none of the benefits of equipment and instruction.

Having had a suspected Torn Rotor Cuff in my left Shoulder, my doctor told me to go to a PT Specialist. I ended up at Athletico in Crystal Lake IL. While the Therapists I saw were very professional and always courteous, and gave me 3 excellent sessions, I will dispute the invoices that I received today. They told me verbally that each 1 hour session was approx $220. For 3 sessions, the Statement they sent to me was $1,222.00. Simple math makes me realize that each treatment costs over $400 each! Absolutely ridiculous and a complete SCAM! Tom Richards, a very dissatisfied former patient. And NO, I'll never use Athletico Again. I'll use a local Chiropractor whose fees for each session are very, very fair - unlike some Chiropractors in this area.

When I got out of the hospital, I had physical therapy come to my home from the hospital. When I was able to go to physical therapy the hospital set it up for me and said Athletico was in network. I do take responsibility for not verifying that. 8 months later I receive a bill. What makes me so angry is that this Athletico in Marion called my supplement on July 9, 2024 and was told they are not in network and I started my therapy there on July 10, 2024. Would it not have been a courtesy to let me know? The same young woman that greeted me on each visit knew that my insurance wasn’t paying. Seriously, is that how you want to run your business? I wondered why when I called your billing department option 3 was if an attorney was calling. I am retired and live on my social security, but I guess you don’t care about that.

I have really big issues with this so-called company & how a PT can talk down to their clients when they want to & then basically yell at them & The last time I checked I did not yell at my own Mother at no cost. This person needs to show respect to anybody & who she thinks she is anyway & with everything that is happening now she needs to watch how she needs to talk to people. & My new name is Warden Emily Norrrrman & They also lied to me about not having a copay & then my insurance stated to me there was no copay but once again they seem to make people including me. & yes when my Insurance company opens Monday morning I will be filing a grievance against this Company for real & They are who they say they are period they are Con Artist who uses Physical Therapy as a hostage & I am a living example
