Shocking customer service

Shocking customer service. Last 2 days I have been on hold an hour and a half each time. Currently on hold again of a running total of one hour at 35 mins so far and still waiting. All I want to do is speak to customer services. Also I have a brilliant driving score with them as had their box for 5 years now with no warnings or anything yet their renewal this time is more than last year! I would negotiate with them but you can never get through to them!

terrible.. Absolutely terrible.

I don’t know where to start.

There black box policy is shady. They accuse you of things you know for a fact you don’t do. They claim to send you warnings and I never got 1 and cancel you on the spot. After the cancellation of your policy. Before you get refunded, they take a percentage of the money they owe you and another £75 for another money making scheme so you end up with Half if what your owed.

Con artists.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Don’t even consider choosing them, and certainly don’t get a policy with a black box. The installer who came out didn’t even seem like he knew what he was going and wasn’t friendly.

You have to wait about 45 minutes to get through to them on the phone just for them to talk nonsense.

Should be shut down.

Really poor service

Really poor service, long waits on phone, poor knowledge from advisor, all round unhelpful. Only wanted to ask a question, no claim wanted, still unable to help but tried to charge me to update a policy £221!!!! Would NOT recommend!

Awful customer service , they asked me when did I pas my test I didn’t remember exactly they asked day month and year!!!!! I just said nearly 5 years and I also sent my driving licence for them after they took all money after 4/5 days they said you have passed your test 4 tears ago not 5 years so instead of £129 you need to pay £145!!!!! With black box!!! Imagine !!!
I paid £296 deposit and they just refund me £150!!!! £50 cancelation and and nearly £100 for 4 days insurance!!!!!!
They rubbed us!!!!! I said i want to speak to manager he said the manager is not here i said your supervisor he said not available!!! They rubbed people to keep They company open!! He said your money will be refund in 30 days!!!!

WORST INSURANCE EVER

WORST INSURANCE EVER. RUDE STAFF

I left a previous BAD review over a month ago now & I am leaving another one as I have just been charged for £170 for my insurance WHICH IS CANCELLED. and also been sent an email being told I have to pay £150 for half of it is “commission” I AM NOT paying someone’s commission and then other half w cancellation fee.. THEY cancelled my insurance and also didn’t say anything about a fee so will not be paying that either.

Spend about 30 mins waiting on hold before someone even answers, so called them today “new enquires” and they answered straight away. Weird that!!!!

Spoke to a lady on the phone, I explained to her the experience I had, she kept interrupting me and not letting me talk. PLUS then when I say to her “are you aware of the reviews of the company on google, the fact you barely have 1.5 stars out of 5 shows that it is a common occurrence that people are having issues with you guys” her response was... “your opinion does affect me personally” ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!

PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. I wish I looked at the reviews before I took out a policy with them.

This is the worst insurance company out…

This is the worst insurance company out there. 30 minutes at least waiting to get through. Car has been parked up for the past month score was 92% it’s has continued to drop now at 78% even though it hasn’t been touched in a month. Awful customer service complaint made back in June still no response, will be going financial ombudsman as soon as possible. Better off driving uninsured than with these clowns.

Joke of an insurer

Joke of an insurer, there’s inmates in Alcatraz that aren’t watched as much as this black box does.
Speeding, Braking and Acceleration all decrease stats outrageously fast in some cases mine went from scores of 100 down to below 50 in just one day.

Wish I’d have read the reviews prior to getting insured as there’s not a f**king good one!

Don’t waste your time on these mongs I guarantee there’s a cheaper insurer with a black box that doesn’t penalise you as much as they do. Cancelled my insurance 8 months into a 1 Year policy and lost out on my no claims bonus because they are that bad!

Problems obtaining no claims

Auto saint were my 2nd ever insurance provider. I never had to contact them about a claim so I cannot comment on that however, after being with them for 2 years I decided to leave as I no longer wanted a black box. The issue came when I renewed with a different provider and wanted my no claims bonus. I had to call them 3 times and would always be on hold for 20-30 minutes only to be told I would be emailed my no claims bonus. It got to a point where my insurance company were 3 days away from canceling my insurance so I had to get them to call Autosaint so they could confirm it over the phone, luckily Hastings were happy enough to do so. They sent me my no claims bonus through email over 2 weeks after they said they would send it. - I have to say they weren't withholding the information they were having issues contacting their underwriting team.

I have to say, when I finally spoke to someone on the phone they would always be polite and would help as much as they could.

Autosaint experience for 2 years

I was with Autosaint for 2 years. Never made a claim, only used the breakdown cover they provide once, which was a week before my second policy ran out.

I had a black box, which was fine initially, but if you have a small engine/old car, DO NOT USE. I personally think Autosaint black boxes require you to drive at 1500 revs to have a good acceleration score. My score was 39 for my entire policy.

IMPORTANT, if your score goes below 30 more than 3 times they will cancel your policy. I received two warnings.

The braking score issue is even worse. I brought this up with them before and they said they would charge me around £70 to come out and have a look.

Customer service were ALWAYS very slow, but when they did eventually reply, they did always sort everything out. My proof of NCB came through 1 day after my policy ran out which I was very happy about.

Overall, the price is good, but the black box is awful and scores are incredibly inaccurate. Customer service is very slow until they eventually reply, then replied back and forth and very quick. Also they always seem to have fixed my problem or answered my query.

Terrible, just terrible!

I have been with the company for a year and and it has just been issue after issue. I receive low breaking scores for situations that I have dealt with correctly and are unavoidable. Once you have had three breaking scores your policy is cancelled and I feel the scores are given out unfairly. Child ran in front of my car and I had to do an emergency stop in order to avoid a horrendous situation I was faulted on that and received a warning even though I dealt with the situation correctly. If you wish to cancel your policy there is a charge :( £70. If you pass your milage limit you are charged a large sum for more miles, £400. As a student this can be a hard situation to get around. I have had to call the company multiple times to discuss issues. One of the ladies who work there i found to be very rude. i have spoken to her countless times and have been quite offended by her attitude, the first time i spoke with her was about a warning i was given and she infact made me cry. I was 17 at the time and this was my first ever car insureance, that is no way to treat a young customer! besides all that negativity id like to say what a wonderfull representative tom was. He helped me to sort out my policy and was incredible kind whilst also being apologetic for the companies mistakes that he had nothing to do with. I cannot fault him!

Ridiculous pricing.....was going to use…

Ridiculous pricing.....was going to use this company for my grandson, the quote was £115 per month plus a larger deposit...4 days later the quote had gone up to £133 a month.. I really dont understand their pricing...naturally we binned the quote

This company are exploiting young…

This company are exploiting young drivers. If you look at review websites, there are literally hundreds of extremely negative reviews warning people to stay away from them and how they are exploiting people. Also people speak about the exact scam they’re inflicting upon me.

They have a overall rating of 1* star on Trustpilot which consists of loads of negative reviews about people’s horrific experiences dealing with this company but specifically the “ braking harshly “ score scam they keep pulling.

I have a black box fitted to my car. The company has an online portal where you can look at your driving score and braking score.

Strangely, I received two warnings for braking harshly but I don’t think I was braking harshly. If I was, braking harshly would be dependant on what’s going on around me.

I brake in reaction to other cars, if I don’t brake, there can be car crashes.

They won’t tell me the date, time and location of the offence but also the exact log in details they gave me to access the dashboard have not been working so I can’t even check what they’re accusing me of.

Then one day when I came home I received a notification from them telling me I’ve braked harshly again and so they’ve cancelled my car insurance and I have to pay 400 and something pounds for the remainder of the 12 months.

I keep emailing them asking them for the specific dates, times and locations of where I supposedly committed these offences but they reply with an email that just explains the way their driving score works and never directly answers my question. They beat around the bush and also won’t let me log-in to the driving / braking score dashboard so I can actually see the analytics and things they’re accusing me of.

The payment team keeps calling me chasing me for payment but the customer service team leaves me in the call queue for ages and then puts the phone down on me when I get through. I have recorded the calls

Then, the other day they sent me another email saying my current insurance company has notified them that I’ve had a claim / accident and therefore they’re increasing the amount to 600 and something pounds. Here is the letter. I have definitely not had an accident with my current car insurance and they can prove this. Also, why would my current insurance company inform my old company of an accident? It doesn’t make sense.

They won’t even say where this specific ‘ accident ‘ I had occurred.

“ We have been notified by your Insurers that they have received notification of a claim/accident.
We apologise in having to send you such an official letter but we feel it is always prudent to keep our customers informed of all information which could affect them.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
We note that you have chosen to pay your annual premium by monthly instalments and you should be aware that in the event of a claim against your policy, the Insurers do not issue any cancellation refund against the annual premium. This will mean that if you do not complete your monthly instalments, and you cancel the remaining payments, then the full annual premium becomes payable immediately.
Failure to pay the amount outstanding will result in your account being passed to a Debt Collection Agency, where additional costs will be added to the amount owed.
If you require any assistance in this matter please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help. “

After looking at loads of review websites, I’m not the only one with this situation as loads of others have experience the exact same thing.

Never use this company

Never use this company. My insurance was 2.2k a year with a blackbox, i paid £1400 to top up 3000miles, and now I paid another £450 for 1000 miles. Total rip off, been a stressful year already, but they have ruined my financial situation even more with these stupid prices....

They charged me double this year than what they had told me a used my no claims bonus as a way of locking me in.

Save yourself the stress and go elsewhere !

I completely concur with the negative reviews given here, if only there was a minus rating. The customer service of this organisation is appalling. Appearing on insurance comparison websites, they sell themselves as specialising in providing car insurance for young people and then bombard them with email and test messages requesting upload of documents with no explanation as to what is needed. Almost impossible to get through on the telephone hold time is over 30 minutes and on the 2 occasions we did get through you are cut off! After one week and one day of being insured decided for both my and my daughter's sanity to cancel and go elsewhere, never was able to get access to the driving portal either, it just does not work. Telephone call to cancel took over 40 minutes to get through, made up cancellation charges which changed 3 times in the space of 5 minutes after we asked for a breakdown of the £226.01 they were charging.
Do yourself a favour and pay a little more and use a trusted reputable insurance company. Beware this company is owned by Fresh Insurance Group which also trades under other names.

Daughter had insurance for first year…

Daughter had insurance for first year of driving. Whilst no problem with her policy for the year, it seems to be impossible for them to give proof of no claims..it was not stated on their renewal notice (which was only emailed 1 week before renewal date after constant emails to them). She was then told that because she was thinking of selling her car at point of renewal,that she didn't need her no claims confirmation anyway. Have messaged/emailed them every day since policy finished no response.
She has since decided to keep her vehicle,and has found alternative insurance,but they obviously need proof of no claims. Youngest daughter due to start driving shortly. Will not be using Austosaint or recommending them to anyone else.
