Bamboo is a SCAM, I would not chance my hard earned money with them, again! We booked early for a flight this fall. They rescheduled an afternoon flight from Hanoi to Da Nang to the wee hours in the morning and we had to accept it, and we did. A couple weeks later (yesterday) I get an email saying the cancelled it all together. Call us for more. Good luck with that, so I emailed with no reply and a bounced email. Then I looked at my receipt and we had taken out insurance, most likely because of reviews I read about them. I did email the insurance company and they wanted a copy of the email, which I promptly sent today. We will see how this shakes out, but be warned, they appear (to me) to be a shady operation.

3 mal in einer Woche die Abflugzeit geändert. Vor Ort in Hanoi mit Extragebühr abgezockt worden wegen angeblicher falscher Namens-Eingabe meinerseits. Tatsächlicher Abflug war dann wiederum nicht pünktlich.
Ich verstehe nicht dass Portale wie Kiwi.com oder Booking.com mit diesem Unternehmen arbeiten….

SCAM ALERT: How Bamboo Airways Steals Traveler Money (Booking: 57E4RZ)
Hey everyone, if you are planning a trip to Southeast Asia, DO NOT BOOK WITH BAMBOO AIRWAYS (Hãng hàng không Bamboo Airways). They have been unlawfully withholding my money for nearly THREE YEARS after cancelling my flight, and they are using a documented, deceptive corporate pattern to scam international and domestic travelers.
Here is the exact pattern they use to steal your money, which hundreds of travelers from Vietnam, Australia, and Europe have already complained about:
1️⃣ The Route Bait-and-Switch: On 30 October 2023, they abruptly cancelled the entire Phu Quoc to Da Nang (PQC-DAD) route for my flight scheduled on 15 November 2023. They took the money, cancelled the service, and their international customer phone line immediately went completely dead/unreachable.
2️⃣ The Fake 90-Day Promise: When I finally reached them via email, an agent named "Thao Dang" collected all my passport and transaction data, promising a cash refund within 90 days. It was a complete lie to buy time. They went completely silent.
3️⃣ The Voucher Trap: A year later, they resurfaced offering a 1-year e-voucher. When I explicitly refused and demanded my legal cash refund, they vanished again for months.
4️⃣ The Administrative Loop: Now, in June 2026, their agent "Yen Nhi" sent an email pretending they need the exact same passport and verification data all over again, claiming their "payment gateway is broken" and trying to force the useless voucher on me again. They also demand a "Vietnamese bank branch" from an international Czech traveler to make a bank transfer look impossible.
The Law: Under Vietnamese Ministry of Transport Circular No. 14/2015/TT-BGTVT, passengers have an absolute legal right to a CASH REFUND for airline-canceled flights.
Bamboo Airways is knowingly using automated stall tactics hoping international tourists will just give up. I have officially escalated this multi-year debt directly to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

Pire compagnie que j’ai jamais pris, à égalité avec ces escrocs de Air Algérie !
-1 : On te fait payer des frais en plus parce que soi-disant j’avais oublié de mettre mon deuxième prénom, j’ai pris plus de 30 compagnies aérienne, j’abuse de soi normalement avec mon numéro de passeport mon nom et mon prénom, ça suffit amplement juste là pour te racketter.
-2 : Ensuite une attente démesurée, on est en 2026 et cette compagnie n’est pas foutu d’avoir un site Web ou une application qui fonctionne. Du coup on est obligé de faire le checking à l’aéroport deux heures d’attente sous une chaleur de plan et personnel, inefficace trois fils seulement deux étaient ouvertes. Nul à ch*** je ne reprendrai jamais cette compagnie !

Bamboo Airways moved my fight time from morning to evening without even asking me. More than that - I cant get any response from them AT ALL!!! And you know what? Morning flight wasn't cancelled - the day before the flight they are still selling it (more expensive than evening). This is insane! They ruined my plans and gave me a ton of stess for my money!

We bought tickets from Hanoi to Phu Quoc in September for November (21.11. outbound, 28.11. inbound) but we never really got on a plane. On the first of November they cancelled these tickets and have not offered any other flights that we could take. We asked for a refund. They still haven´t refunded the amount we paid and it´s been a long time wait now. Now I am going through the process of getting the refund via Vietnamese authorities - wish me luck and strong nerves.

I decided to write this review after seeing many negative ones that honestly made me a bit nervous about booking. However, my experience with Bamboo Airways was great overall.

I flew on March 10 at 6am from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang (Vietnam). The booking process was simple and straightforward, the flight departed on time, and the seats were comfortable. The staff were also very kind and helpful throughout the journey.

Honestly great experience, the price was phenomenal as well, would definitely book with Bamboo Airways again!

Très mauvaise expérience avec Bamboo Airways, surtout sur la gestion client et la coordination avec les agences.
Après un changement d’horaire rendant ma correspondance impossible, un remboursement m’a été proposé par l’intermédiaire de l’agence.
J’ai accepté ce remboursement, mais Bamboo Airways a ensuite refusé toute prise en charge, en invoquant une politique interne.
Pendant plus d’un mois :
Bamboo Airways me renvoyait vers l’agence,
l’agence me renvoyait vers Bamboo Airways,
et aucune solution n’a été appliquée.
Aucune communication claire, aucune flexibilité, aucun accompagnement du passager, alors que la situation était urgente.
Résultat : aucun remboursement, aucune aide, et obligation d’acheter un nouveau billet à mes frais.
Une compagnie qui applique ses règles sans considération pour les conséquences pour le client et sans coordination avec ses partenaires.
Très décevant. Je ne voyagerai plus avec Bamboo Airways.

My flight was cancelled, on Nov. 12th 2025 to PHU QUOC ISLAND. I never received an email or call about the cancellation. Only by coincidence I found out, that the airline suspended the service on this route.

I tried several times to contact the airline for a full refund of the ticket, without success. No response at all. Nobody seems to care! My advise, don't book with them!

Don’t get on a bamboo airlines flight.

Their planes are outdated, likely 3-4th handed/thrift-store planes.

Every single time I’ve flown with these clowns they’ve been delayed. This time because of an issue with some sensor… this is more of a circus now than an airline.

Unsure if there are inspection standards for aircrafts in Vietnam. Do yourself a favour and don’t book with Vietjet or bamboo. Just pay the extra £20-30 for Vietnam airlines.

Wir haben Inlandsflüge in Vietnam von Da Nang nach Phu Quoc gebucht. Als Refund gibt es nur einen Credit bei der Airline was einem als Tourist nichts bringt, zumal es nun bei der Airline keinen einzigen Flug mehr auf dieser Strecke gibt.
Hier gibt es gar keinen Refund.

It‘s really tiring to share the whole experience with Bamboo Airways. But I’m willing to do so still.

Please stay away from Bamboo Airways.
We had our long-distance flight booked for Frankfurt to Hanoi + return flight.
During our flight to Hanoi in October 2023, they cancelled our return flight. Everyone arrived at the immigration in Hanoi had their return flight cancelled. Bamboo managed to ruin everyone’s day/weeks/month/years.

After 2 months they promised to refund, asking me for bank information.
After 7 months, they offered a voucher instead.
I declined the offer and asked for their initial offer of refund.
Since then, another time no reaction (after so many times without reactions in the nearly last 2 years).
We had tickets for 5 people, 3500€-4000€ vanished. Stolen. Hard work. Exploited.
We had to book our return flight for 800€ per person. Peanuts for Bamboo Airways, huh?!

We also spoke to some lawyers and will take action now.

I booked for 2 persons a round-trip flight with Bamboo Airways from Frankfurt to Ho Chi Minh City (Booking code: UA3GSX) scheduled for November 2023 (departure) and March 2024 (return). The total cost: €1,743.45.

Bamboo Airways canceled the flight due to their own bankruptcy issues, and since then, I have been waiting for a refund for over a year. It is now mid-2025, and I still haven’t received a single euro back.

I contacted both the airline and the travel agency. The agency confirmed that Bamboo Airways has NOT refunded them, so they cannot process anything on their end. Bamboo refuses to take responsibility and keeps pushing me back to the agency.

The worst part? There has been no transparency, no timeline, and no proper communication. Just vague, dismissive emails — and months of silence.

This isn’t just bad service — it’s theft. Taking money for a flight you cancel yourself, then refusing to refund it, and leaving your customers in limbo for years is completely unacceptable.

This is probably the worst airlines of all time.
I purchased my tickets back in September 2023 traveling from the UK and they cancelled all the international flights without refunding the tickets.

I have been waiting since October 2023 for a refund for a cancelled flight and they keep telling me to wait.
The flights were for my honeymoon, I never got informed they had been cancelled and it was only when I tried checking in that I find out.
Please give me my refund 😡😡😡😡

The worst company!!! the cancell the flight with no comunications, they left us with no flight on our holidays and also one year later NO MONEY BACK, they dont replay emails... Never buy any tickets with them!!! scammers!!

Achtung , diese Fluggesellschaft ist eine reine Katastrophe und Verschwendung von Zeit , Geld und Energie….
Flug wurde von der Airline Annulliert & und ich wurde noch nicht mal darüber informiert bzw. in Kenntnis darüber gesetzt worden.
Warte immer noch auf meine Erstattung.
