Lovely harness. Difficult to adjust at first - I'm ancient and have weakish fingers - but managed in the end. That's the trouble with having a crazy, tiny dachshund!! Anna was very helpful and friendly, and was happy to support. She offered to take a return, but it proved not to be necessary.

It’s taken the humans a little while to get to grips with which way up the harness goes when it’s fully unclipped!
The harness fits well (pug) and is ideal for a pug with myelopathy meaning he doesn’t need to lift legs.

We have a 3-y-old Norfolk Terrier, who is fine in open country on an extending lead, but who is very reactive to passing traffic when walking along a pavement. He pulls with all his strength and lunges towards cars in a panic. I’ve tried sitting for hours at our gate with a bowl of treats, and trying to divert him with treats etc when out walking in town, but once he gets excited he ignores everything except his need to react. He then pulls really hard when we walk on, and it’s tiring and destabilising for me. I got a Perfect Fit harness when he was nearly a year old, correctly fitted by a representative of their firm at our home, to avoid strain on his neck from a collar and lead, and used the chest clip option to try to steer him, but it didn’t work well and he wasn't comfortable.
So I tried a Barkridges Trufit Comfort harness. I attached a lead to the top clip and a second lead to the chest clip, and we set off up the road.
I was amazed. He walked along sensibly and quietly, without pulling. A car came by, but he didn’t interrupt his sniffing and peeing on the first lamp post. He flinched a little at the second car, but walked on without pulling. I don’t know why, it felt like magic to me, after so many walks with him going at full steam, and me worrying whether I could hold him and prevent an accident.
I think he’s more comfortable in his Trufit harness because the straps going between his legs and connecting to the top part are at a wider angle than on his Perfect Fit harness. Also the padding is wider and thus spreads over a larger area of contact. Maybe he even feels more reassured by the firm contact and body support it provides? I’m not sure whether it will be rather hot for him in summer, though - Norfolks have thick double coats, excellent in winter but are very sensitive to heat.
I also ordered a matching lead. I sent this back, as although I liked the idea of the extra loops, I found even the topmost loop was too low down for me to reach, when the lead was connected to his central chest clip, because Norfolks are such small terriers, with very short legs. I’d imagine the same problem might arise with Dachshunds? In any case I felt the lead was too wide, thick and heavy to be comfortable with a tiny dog. A thinner mesh with higher loops, or more of them, would be better. However, the lead would be excellent for larger dogs with longer legs. Another option might be a double-ended lead with a clip each end, so the handler could fasten two clips where more control was needed
and then undo one clip to give a longer lead in open safe spaces.

Halti arrived next day. I fitted it to my 10month old GSD he loved it. Other haltis just didn't fit but this one with the deep chest option was perfect. He didn't need any time to get used it it even though he has never had one before we went straight out on his WALK. Perfect👍

This dog harness is well made and of high quality. It is comfortable on my dog, a West Highland white terrier.
