Misrepresentation

This company is actually based in China, not London. As soon as you press pay, they say it’s dispatched and you cannot cancel. Worse still, in my case, my receipt shows a lower amount to what has been taken off my credit card. This is now been raised as a dispute with my credit card company.

The retailer’s presentation led me to believe I was purchasing from a London/UK-facing retailer. The company’s actual disclosed legal entity is in the Netherlands, while the goods are fulfilled from China and returns are required to China. This information was not sufficiently apparent to me at the point of purchase

RETURN TO CHINA OPTION:
Since we operate from a central warehouse in China, located near our manufacturing facility to help reduce carbon emissions, all returns must be shipped to the central warehouse in China. Please note that international return shipping can often cost $30–40 or more.
If you choose to refuse the delivery, please be aware that the parcel will be sent to an international logistics center and may eventually be destroyed. In such cases, we will not be able to issue a refund, as the item will not be returned to our warehouse.
Please also note that the customer is responsible for:

Any applicable customs duties or fees

The dress I ordered was stunning! I love it so much. Unfortunately it was a little too small and I am working with customer service to exchange for a bigger size. They are wonderful! They respond almost immediately. I would size up on this dress and buy it right now!!

Not sure how to rate Beckett-London as they asked me to give them a review offering me 20% off before I’ve even received my order!

Bought a pair of shoes for 79.99 size 8 for holiday. Size 11 arrived wrapped in plastic. Have emailed 4 times with no reply.

I got the floral cardigan because it looked cute online, but it’s prettier in person. The print doesn’t look cheap and it layers well over plain outfits. I wore it to work and got asked where it was from. Packaging was simple but clean.

Unfortunately the same story as everyone else! The quality is extremely poor and the fabric looks cheap.

We were initially offered a 10% refund if we kept the items, then 20% and then finally 40%.

I’ve declined them all requesting their return address to China! They are not responding.

Very poor quality items. Returns incur huge costs to transport back to their warehouse in China (which isn't mentioned on their website). Means returns are not financial viable and you are left out of pocket with some shoddy items.

BECKETT AND LONDON they say! it’s coming from china. Paid for a linen set 2 days ago I’ve not even had a confirmation email to confirm the order. After reading into the other comments on here it’s a china based company selling awful clothes. I’ve asked to cancel my order but I’ve had no reply on the order. I’m now doing a charge back from my credit card company and bank. Anyone thinking of ordering off this company don’t. The other company who they are trading as is a company called Hartley York. They sound good but are china based shops selling awful clothes.

Exactly the same experience as every other review here. Not sure how the rating can be 1.9 if every rating is a one ?!!

The item I received looked nothing like the product advertised.

Website advertises “Free shipping and 30-day money back guarantee,” told I had to send it back to China at my own cost and cover any customs fees (up to £40). This was not made clear before purchase, and the name “Beckett London” certainly doesn’t suggest returns would need to go to China.

They also offered me just a 10% refund if I kept the item, which is unacceptable when the product is not as described.

As I am a UK consumer, my statutory rights apply. Goods supplied by a trader must be as described, of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose. Where goods are not as described, I am entitled to reject them and receive an appropriate refund - this has not been the case.

In my opinion, this is misleading. I wish I had checked more carefully before buying, and I would strongly warn others to avoid.

The worst company to order from they are the biggest scam company going. Need to be taken of the internet before anyone else gets scammed. Asked them to cancel my order before it was shipped they ignored me then shipped the order and emailed saying sorry it’s too late. Disgraceful company.

This Chinese company is a scam
Their website is designed to fool you into thinking it is UK based. They do not use Royal Mail and their claim re peace of mind returns is untrue. I ordered what appeared to be high quality short fitting swim shorts. I received 2 very baggy below the knee very poor quality shorts. No mesh interlining, no label, no side vents. After initially being offered 10% refund, after several emails I was given 50% refund. The shorts are unwearable.

Same problem as everyone else. Order quality shocking, no collar on both shirts and material wasn't linen. The company is based in China and id say this is a scam. Will be reporting to the police also. Managed to get money back through credit card!

Total scam. Avoid. Temu quality product and service. Sent from China. Long wait. Not as shown or described. Return policy is to send to China at your cost and pay all duties. Really really disappointed. Brand name is misleading as hell…

Awful company. Ordered a linen short sleeved shirt and what feels like polyester (label says linen mix with cotton) but I own enough to know what linen and linen mix are. It also is an awful cut arrived 3 weeks later. Deceptive website. Products are shipped from China and is no way in any form a UK or London based company

Will have to do a bank charge back as this is going straight to recycling. Terrible.

Linen shirts ordered - 10 days later, 100% polyester, grandad style (no collar) shirts arrived. Awful quality. Advised I would be responsible for cost of returning. Currently awaiting a response having advised them of my statutory rights. Not expecting much and suspect it will need to be a chargeback claim with the credit card company.

A scam company that should be avoided at all costs

I bought some swimming shorts from Beckett London. The shorts are substandard and not as advertised. The material is cheap, and they look nothing like they are shown on the website.

The company is not based in London and has no connection to London, despite presenting itself as a London-based company. It is based in the Netherlands and operates from China.

Their customer service is unhelpful and obstructive, and their returns policy is ineffectual. They also require customers to pay for return postage, as well as any applicable tax and import duty.

Scammers. I’ve been to Trading Standards hoping to prevent more victims.

Shipping took a month, when the item finally arrived the quality was awful and the item nothing like the photos / description on the website. Return policy is basically non existent given the customer is required to cover all shipping costs to China - Beckett London is a misleading name as this has nothing to do with London at all

Item is clearly fake and not the brand stated. I've contacted them for a refund but I'm unlikely to get anywhere with it judging by other reviews

Shirt took over 1 month to arrive. The quality is absolute garbage. Instructions on shirt say dry clean only[ridiculous] The return policy is non existant. This is a poorly run drop ship company with goods coming from China. Calling itself Beckett London when it has no affiliation with London at all . Beware
