Thank you for taking the time to spell all of this out. This is genuinely some of the most useful feedback we could ask for, and you've pointed at real things we can fix.

Let me clear up the big one first: the water. The up-to-date guidance is to not use distilled water. Some older materials mentioned it by mistake, and we've since corrected that. Distilled and purified water is actually too pure to mist well through the device, which can cause weak or sputtering output. The best choice is our Eye Hydration Complex, and saline solution works fine too. We're sorry the conflicting notes caused confusion.

On the liquid leaking out and feeling wasted: the trick is that you don't need to fill the reservoir. Just add enough for the session, press the rubber stopper in firmly after filling, and empty whatever's left when you're done. Because it's a warm mist device, a little moisture escaping is normal, but those steps should cut the waste down a lot.

You're also right that the after-steam steps need to be clearer. The chrome wand is a manual tool you roll gently around the eyelid area after steaming, never pressing on the eye itself, followed by some gentle blinking to finish the routine. We're rewriting these instructions to lay it out step by step.

As for your eyes feeling less dry but still watery, everyone's timeline is different, and since you've been managing dry eyes for a few years, it may simply take a longer, steady stretch for you. The silicone shape itself is fixed, but the strap is adjustable, and small changes often make a real difference: loosen the strap so it's secure but light, shift the mask slightly higher or lower until it sits flush, and try it seated or reclined with your head supported.
