Liz and her team at Big House Experience excel at what they do. From our initial enquiry to the welcome home email we felt that BHE wanted our trip to go well. This is reflected in their detailed information pack (what 3 words helped with navigating country lanes on the night of our arrival) and a refreshing attention to detail. Throughout the booking process questions were responded to promptly. As a large multi-generational family, who love getting together we’ve used several large house providers - from now on BHE will be our go to provider.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Magpie Farm - the beams and farmhouse kitchen with a big red Aga and Christmas lights (the house was decorated beautifully) felt extra Christmassy. There is a full size snooker table and indoor pool as well as beautiful grounds for walks. Bedrooms are well appointed, mostly with en-suites but the best thing about the house is the wonderful energy of the place, I can’t help feeling it was once a very happy home. Thank you BHE - we’ll be back!

We stayed at tall trees for a Christmas family gathering. Everything was great, well equipped sociable kitchen, lovely pool and hot tub, games room, gym, library and piano meaning adults and children were spoilt for things to do all day. That’s before exploring the stunning grounds. Care from big house experience made the whole thing so easy to plan, excellent guide, recommendations and advice. Will be booking again.

Bay view house, a place to build once in a lifetime memories.

The house, the location, the beach. All the factors to make a perfect base for family and friends to holiday.

There was nothing we could have asked for that wasn’t in the house. Space and rooms for all ages to mingle together or not as you see fit. Bay view provides the perfect mix in the most amazing setting.

Thanks to the team for making our stay and wedding cerebration the most magical at Christmas.

We had an amazing long weekend in Tall Trees. There were 28 of us and I planned it all as a surprise for my husband’s 50th. From booking the house to leaving and getting the deposit back the service was professional and very smooth. I was given a mobile number for the Owner’s PA on booking and she contacted me immediately to help me arrange caterers and anything else I needed. I had lots of contact as the booking came nearer and nothing was too much trouble. The house was absolutely amazing and the caterers fantastic. We had a wonderful weekend and I wouldn’t hesitate to use book again. Thank you!

Fab stay at Hesdin Estate - 10 of us (aged 12-90) celebrating 18th and 70th Birthdays - wonderful facilities to cater for everyone - pool (with hot tub), sauna, pool table and X-box games room - kitchen/dining table to seat 16. Highly recommended for a memorable family/friends celebration gathering!

Cannot put it into words. Perfect house, perfect facilities and so aesthetically pleasing for any occasion that you want to be memorable

Repeat visit 2 years on from our first and a real disappointment

No blinds in some of the top floor rooms ie no curtains
Water leaking into pool from sky light

It’s still a beautiful location n great house but the BIG HOUSE EXPERIENCE did not deliver

Fantastic property with everything catered for. Our party loved that all bedrooms had their own en suite. Kitchen was well equipped and the surroundings were beautiful.

The house was lovely and overall suited us well. A few problems with people with mobility issues and also who wanted showers not baths. The house was well equipped but a few things need a bit of further consideration. The house sleeps 20 but the dining table doesn't fit 20. More tea towels and large serving dishes would have been helpful. However it was a very good experience.

Tregulland Cottage & Barn was the perfect setting for our celebratory weekend, and the whole group have said how much we wished we had booked a whole week there!

Tregulland is both luxurious and cosy, managing to comfortably sleep up to 22 people whilst still having plenty of nooks and crannies to curl up with a book and admire the view of Bodmin Moor. The pool, wow! What a show stopper. The kitchens are incredibly well stocked, the place is beautifully designed, and every single guest has loved every minute of their stay.

Huge thanks to the Big House Experience Team, Tregulland's owners and the fantastic cleaning team. It was an unforgettable stay!

Excellent accommodation and facilities. First class equipment and amenities. The swimming pool and sauna were fantastic and enjoyed by everyone. The Christmas Tree and decorations added to the festive occasions.

Olive House was sensational. The photos are gorgeous but they don’t even do the house justice. It was a (wonderful) surprise when I arrived that it was even better than I’d anticipated. Juliet, the owner, is the most lovely person. She walked me through the whole property, made us brownies and had bubbles ready on arrival. She wanted to genuinely ensure we had the best possible time. I couldn’t recommend this property enough - the house, inside and out, is meticulously clean and gorgeously decorated whilst Juliet herself is simply the best host. I genuinely have no feedback on how our stay could have been improved…

We stayed at Pippin Apple Barn for an early weekend Christmas celebration with 18 of our close family members, and from the moment we walked in, it felt like home. The barn is warm, inviting, and incredibly spacious — ideal for a large gathering. Even our dogs loved having so much room to explore.

The pool area was a real highlight — very roomy and beautifully kept — and although we didn’t use the sauna, it was lovely to have as an option. Inside, the kitchen was brilliantly equipped with plenty of oven and fridge/freezer space, plus an impressive amount of glasses, plates, mugs and more. The beds were also extremely comfortable, which everyone appreciated.

We were spoiled for entertainment too. There were so many games available — pool, table football, chess, and more — and they kept everyone thoroughly entertained (and very competitive!). Jenga in particular became a firm favourite.

Communication with the hosts was excellent. We had a brief power issue, and although Megan from Hesdin wasn’t able to fully resolve it and she arrived within minutes and did everything she could. It didn’t affect our stay, and we managed perfectly well.

Overall, Pippin Apple Barn was a wonderful place to bring our family together. We had a fantastic weekend and would happily return!

I used big house experience to find the ideal location to celebrate my 60th birthday. The choice of properties was vast and I was spoilt for choice. The team gave me some recommendations and were quick to answer my questions. The communications between booking and arriving at the property were regular and very clear, and I found everyone very professional. The company was recommended by a friend and I have certainly recommended it onward to all of my own friends.

The property we chose, Greenmarsh Farm, was just incredible. It surpassed expectations and we all found it to be one of the most beautiful places we had ever stayed. No expense was spared on the house, decoration, facilities etc, absolutely top notch. We also enjoyed a luxury welcome pack. Could have stayed forever. We hope to return one Sunmer. Just stunning. A great property offered by a great company. Highly recommended.
