We’re a family business. It started with just the two of us; husband and wife duo, Gareth and Claire Allen. We’re developing a team of lovely like-minded people around us as we grow, who will make sure we never lose that family business feel. Fabulous property with everything you could want!
We have just returned from a fantastic weekend in Tregan House, Newquay. We were a group of friends celebrating a special birthday and it was an ideal property for this purpose. It really is a stunning property, only a few hundred yards up from Watergate Bay and with nice views. The beds were comfortable with beautifully clean bedding, most with en suites and the kitchen was very well equipped. There was a very large dining table and two large separate seating areas which could be useful for different age groups. We also made use of the large hot tub and the downstairs yoga studio/play room which is a handy extra space. Communication with the letting agent was excellent and we would thoroughly recommend the property -you certainly won't be disappointed!

An absolutely great venue
An absolutely great venue, we went for our Christmas party, but this venue would serve equally well for large family gatherings. Hosts were super helpful, it was clean, beds were comfy and everything that we needed was readily available.

The Apple Cabin was perfect for large family
The Apple Cabin was perfect for a large family weekend away. Despite the inclement weather conditions the cabin provided comfort and activities to amuse all ages. The swimming pool and hot tub was a firm favourite. The cabin was equipped to a high standard and the pizza oven was a great success. Would highly recommend.

A wonderful house
A wonderful house. There is everything you needing the house. Kitchen is fully equipped. Beds are comfortable with crisp white linen and towels. Constant hot water.
Lovely walks close by and hot tub was great.
Only slight negative, although there is a game room the equipment is either broken or missing. If you want to have a game of darts, ping pong or lawn bowls, you will have to take your own.
My family, and my guests would 100% stay here again.

I recently stayed in this beautiful…
I recently stayed in this beautiful accommodation in very lovely surroundings and pleasant views, everyone in the company loved it we even took a vote to book again next year. Sorry to say we won't be returning, due to us being accused of breaking a stool, on reflection I noticed the wonky leg of the stool and wished I had taken a photo because it was nothing like the picture they sent over to us. Given the fact that i have a terminal condition with my legs and would never of been able to sit that low on a stool anyway or placed anything on it, and thankfully i didn't sit on it because It would of resulted in a serious accident, therefore I was certain WE DID NOT BREAK IT. We also was accused of damaging a window sill, thankfully one of the ladies went round and took a video of the outside and it showed up that the sill had the yellow mark on it then. We are a group of mature ladies and have been going away for the past 50 yrs and have never experienced one single complaint against us EVER. So if your visiting take some pictures to cover yourselves. It certainly was such a shame it ended up like that.
Ps the wardrobe door in that same bedroom we couldn't unlock it to use it either. Marilyn

Churchside Manor - What a place!!
Churchside Manor - What a place!!
I had booked this property for a surprise birthday stay for my partner with her friends. We were all blown away by how amazing this place is. Not only is it a gorgeous looking place there is so much to do...we didn't want to leave!! The hot tub area was clean and presentable. The cinema room and games room was a perfect getaway from the party vibes downstairs for a chilled breather. The place was immaculate - heating in the bedrooms was just right and there were queues for the Sage coffee machine in the mornings!!
Would definitely book again - we are all suffering from post-holiday blues!!

Beautiful grounds
River Valley House
Positives :
- Beautiful, well-maintained gardens and grounds.
- Good-sized, well-proportioned bedrooms with thoughtfully designed en-suites.
- Comfortable beds with immaculate linen.
- A kind touch to provide a basket of local goods on arrival.
Needs Improvement :
- The house is much too hot, and the temperature is difficult to regulate.
- The shower room in the pool house is very cold compared with the rest of the area.
- The hot tub temperature is difficult to control.
- Unfortunate that an app must be downloaded to access the music volume controls.
- No iron was provided; we had to request one.
- The ironing board is inadequate—the cover is very thin and cannot be secured properly due to a broken strap.
- Only one TV in the main house, which is insufficient for larger groups, and the main TV controls are confusing to use.
- The dishwasher door in the kitchen is difficult to use and requires repair.
- The dining room/kitchen chairs and mini sofas are uncomfortable; the sofas need re-stuffing.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback from your stay at River Valley House. We’re delighted you enjoyed the beautiful grounds, comfortable bedrooms, immaculate linen, and the local welcome basket — it’s wonderful to hear these touches made a positive impression.
Regarding some of the points you raised: in addition to the TV in the main house, there is a large media room in the barn next door that guests are very welcome to use, which also houses the pool and gym. As for the heating, our House Manager lives close by and would have been happy to assist immediately with the temperature controls had they been alerted.
We really appreciate your constructive comments about the hot tub, shower, furniture, ironing equipment, and appliances, and will review these to make improvements for future guests. Your feedback helps us ensure stays are as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Very good weekend at Netherstone
The information prior to the visit was excellent and accurate.We were met by Ben who took us around the house,providing all the information we needed and some history of the house.
The house itself is great, very spacious with a good pool and sauna.
The master suite is the best I have seen in the many houses I have booked for our group.
The house is very well equipped, with a very good welcome hamper and welcome pack for the dogs.
I would highly recommend Netherstone House for a group or family gathering.
Our group will be returning!

70th birthday
We had a wonderful time celebrating. The house was warm and inviting on arrival with lots of snacks and essentials we could use before our groceries arrived. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the bedrooms were like hotel bedrooms. Only downside was the number of times the streaming service would cut out when we were watching a movie.

60th Birthday Celebrations
Damson Barn was easy to find due to very clear directions. On arrival we were all overwhelmed by the barns facilities and high standards. Everything was available to hand. The bedrooms were spacious and very well equipped. The large open living space was amazing to use. A great place to gather as a family.
The pool, sauna and hot tub created hours of fun for the grandchildren. The views and peaceful surroundings made for a lovely relaxing weekend. We all can’t wait to go back in the summer so we can enjoy the decking and outdoor dining facilities.
Absolutely 100% recommend this gem of a place.

Perfect weekend away
We had a great time at Butley farmhouse and our dealings with the Big House Experience were excellent. Their communication and detailed instructions were 2nd to none. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Our stay at Barford Beach House
Our stay at Barford Beach House, which had been planned for well over a year, was everything we hoped it would be and more. Its very hard to organise an extended family holiday for 15 people age range from 3 to 83 (four generations). This house and location were perfect.
