I started up a business a few months back and I've been using bookers from the start. I usually do click and collect to make sure I can get the stock I need. Last week I picked up my order and had a problem with 1 item which caused me a bit of a setback. I spoke to the manager at Nantgarw bookers and he couldn't have been more helpful. I should have asked his name so I could give him a mention. Just wanted to say thanks again for his help.

Absolutely shocking customer service and false promises. We had been visiting bookers locally for many years to pick up items that our other suppliers didn’t stock. I must say the staff at Nottingham branch are all lovely and a credit to Bookers.
The problems came when the rep came promising the world! Reliable delivery, cash back, continuity of products. Great we could have a twice week delivery and order on the app. All was great for the first few months then the cracks started to show. Products out of stock constantly and then the icing on the cake…….no delivery!! We have no drivers …..fair enough, but the lady on the phone was incredibly rude!!!! And after trying to call back for more info we just got hung up on.
Contacted the rep, who said he would enquire to what had happened. Heard nothing since …..5 days ago!
False promises and just after your money. No customer care when problems arise. We are going back to our old suppliers and wouldn’t trust this company ever moving forward.
Avoid if you value your business and need reliability and professionalism.

We contacted Booker regarding a delayed delivery that left our café without essential stock. After spending over 1.5 hours being transferred between departments, we were finally connected to a female staff member who was supposed to help.
Instead, after putting us on hold and apparently believing the call had ended, she mocked the way I speak and laughed about me with colleagues while I was still connected to the line. Another member of staff who was with me heard it too.
Delays and mistakes can happen. Mocking customers who are simply trying to get answers is something entirely different.
This was not only unprofessional, it was disrespectful, humiliating, and completely unacceptable. No customer should ever be treated this way.
Service failures are frustrating. Being ridiculed by the very person who is supposed to help you is disgraceful.
If this is the standard of professionalism Booker considers acceptable, customers deserve to know.
(your trade hours 7:30am -5pm but your are telling me to wait untill 18:10 pm on the phone)
We're closing at 5 pm. Such delays are understandable but your team's behaviour is unexpectable
It is an extremely bad experience…
Working with Booker (Enfield Branch) is a constant gamble. Their ordering system is an absolute relic; Is a 'Kinder Surprise' game and because it is so poorly designed, you can’t even take a screenshot, forcing us to waste double the time manually recording orders.
The logistics are a disaster. Half the items are routinely missing, and when they are, Booker has the nerve to cancel the delivery because the total falls below their minimum spend—punishing the customer for their own mistakes.
In 2026, Stone Age, their lack of e-logistics and layers of bureaucracy are embarrassing.
Unless you enjoy chasing sales reps just to get what you paid for, stay away, unless they are willing to work really really hard to change their system.
Has to improve!
We work with them to source our venues, some week they are good and on time, some others they do not have stock and drivers are extremely late. Please improve delivery times
As the owner of a new mobile catering…
As the owner of a new mobile catering business, shopping for my stock was a whole new entity for me. At my local Chichester branch Nick the catering manager has been nothing more than engaging and helpful, a thoroughly great person, with good knowledge of his store and staff.
I am learning my way around the store and which produce fits with my budget, against competitors and on the whole, I am happy with the pricing.
After a challenging long day as a lone lady trader, in a layby, flipping burgers, going to get my next days stock is actually therapeutic!
Why, you may ask....The Chichester Bookers branch have the most amazing staff. I am bad with names, but would like to give a special mention to Nick, Rick, Charlie and Cherelle, you are all so lovely and my shop at the end of a good or bad day, so much better. Get a butcher that wants to help customers, you might take more money and not throw away meat or in his mood not discount rather let staff have it for free. That is the comment you get when your trying to spend money at the north weald store. And you have nearly £500 of fillet going out and a little reduction and i would have brought the lot. But no once again. To busy to take 2 mins to sort it out. Bring back the section manager kevin. He was there for years i spend thousands but now i woukd rather spend my money with a company that serves customers instead of making them feel as if its nit important. Bookers needs to sort its self out or ithers and local businesses will benefit from customers being treated as not important people. Especially ones that have a few businesses. I will now spend my business funds else were now not on meat staff dont want to sell as customers are not important. Its a joke

Filthy car park!!!!!!!
I have not shopped here, but I live close by to this store on Stockport Road Ardwick. I have sent them a couple of message requesting they clean their car park area, near where the bushes and 2 trees are located. But they have ignored my request, there is lots and lots litter, someone has even discarded a pink suit case! They have ignored my request to clean, they may read reviews. Therefore here is hoping, I dread to think what the inside is like if they cannot keep their grounds cleaned on regular basis.

Absolutely terrible experience at Booker Edinburgh Sighthill.
I scanned a product by the box, and they tried to charge me per individual item — a difference of about 30 pence per unit. When I pointed it out, they acted like I was the problem. The staff were dismissive and the manager was unbelievably unprofessional — rude, arrogant, and clearly not interested in helping customers.
I’ve never seen such poor customer service. It felt like they were trying to rip me off over something so small, and instead of fixing it, they doubled down. I won’t be going back. Avoid this place.

Terrible, wouldn't recommend them at all.
Constantly having to phone every week regarding delivery times. Lied to by every department, had to call them 5 times today to be told something completely different each time, which is extremely stressful when having to do this whilst trying to run a business. I wouldn't recommend them at all, terrible customer service.
Ripped off by Booker this morning at…
Ripped off by Booker this morning at their York branch. Returned home to discover that they charged me £16.49 plus VAT for a box of 200 Yorkshire tea bags. Tesco who own this outfit charge £5.49 for a box of 210 Yorkshire Tea Bags. The moral of the story is check very carefully the price of everything you buy at Booker Cash and Carry as everything is not all its seems!

We used to be with Booker North Weald and their service was faultless since the company moved us to Booker Rayleigh, supposedly to make it more convenient for us, the service has been abysmal, deliveries constantly cancelled due to one made up reason of another, items missing that are actually in stock when i am forced to drive to North Weald to collect, I just email andrew.yaxley at bookergroup.com the CEO to see if he can do anything about the levels of service we receive

Waiting nearly an hour to get through checkouts in Brighton Bookers today. Plenty of staff on floor but not on checkouts.

Having a Booker lorry parked outside our childrens bedroom all night, while its faulty air con unit vibrates the windows isnt cool. White Lorry KP19 NPF, actualy I am going to see if I can disable the air con unit.
Disappointing removal from trade club bigger pub advantage again
Thank you for your removal of me from the on trade club and basically putting more pressure on smaller pubs like myself struggling to make a profit harder than it already is.
If you can make products cheaper for the larger more national public houses who have a greater high street turnover and able to justify £500 weekly spend then once again the richer pubs get richer and the small local ones like myself struggle to make a living. A pound here and there may not sound a lot to you with your national profits, but to me it makes a difference. There should be no difference if we all get privileged pricing then I feel that’s fair but penalising smaller local pubs like myself feels unjust, I can’t justify top dollar pricing as the high street can when they have footfall and passing trade, whereas I don’t and have to work my socks off independently to keep a local trade. All or none should be the rationale for discounting goods
