I am an existing customer and have dealt with BullionByPost before. Their Irish website gives all the information you need to sell scrap gold to them including prices in Euros and a calculator to work out the value of your scrap. This morning I rang the number they gave to sell some 18Ct. scrap gold and was told by their representative that they do not buy scrap gold from Ireland and that they have been trying for months to get their web designers to remove the web page in question.
It is painfully obvious to me that they are happy to SELL gold to you when the price is high but will not BUY it when prices are high, as they are now.

I have just looked on their "Sell Scrap Gold" page and low and behold there is a large banner saying that they DO NOT buy scrap gold! Was it something I said?

When I read the reply from BullionByPost the only conclusion I came to is that the people there must think all of us in Ireland are complete fools.
They say they don't have a refiners in Europe but I believe BullionByPost have their european scrap gold refined by Heraeus in Germany. If they did not have a refiners in Europe why then would they go to the time and expense of creating a complex and detailed web page on their Irish website offering to buy scrap gold?
To the best of my knowledge, this web page has been up for at least 4 months, making a mockery of their assertion that they have been working hard to take it down.

The only simple and obvious solution to this problem is for BullionByPost to honour the commitment they make on their Irish website to buy scrap gold on the terms set out. If this happens I would happily delete the above.

Ordered the 12th and still waiting - it was ordered from Ireland site and coming from France, which was never clear as appeared a local site. Presently it is stuck in a French location at present. Will hopefully receive before the birthday date !
