I was referred to Mr. Daya at the Centre for Sight East Grinstead branch to investigate some fluctuating vision problems and dry eye symptoms following SMILE laser surgery (at a different company)

If you have dry eye issues, I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere. Their treatment options are limited to IPL and pushing their own brand of Omega Fish oils. That’s it, no other options. I had previously had IPL treatment without any success but Mr Daya convinced me to do it again with him. (stupid of me in hindsight)
Strangely, despite this being their only treatment offering for dry eye, they didn’t even do any manual expression after each IPL session, which is commonly considered best practice. So, they don’t even do this right…

When this inevitably didn’t work and made zero difference, I was told that things were improving ‘on paper’ and I just had to be patient.

When I asked about other treatment options such as Radio Frequency or more physical options to clear my oil gland blockages, I was basically scoffed at for even suggesting such silliness and told I had unrealistic expectations.
If Mr Daya doesn’t offer it, it’s not even worth discussing (in his opinion).

When I asked why they don’t do manual expressions after IPL he shrugged it off like it was not big deal without giving me a proper answer.
Overall, this made every interaction feel like a battle, with a heavy atmosphere where I wasn’t supposed to ask about any treatments he did not offer because he always knew best and I was a silly boy to even question him.

This arrogant and obnoxious attitude was also directed towards his staff I was horrified to witness. Talking to his own team like they were dirt on the bottom of his shoe. Getting hissy with them when a piece of software wasn’t on his PC or some document wouldn’t print as fast as he wanted.

Honestly, it was totally pathetic behaviour and I feel truly sorry for anyone that has to interact with My Daya on a daily basis. It doesn’t matter how smart you think you are, you are not above anyone else and should treat other people, especially people on your team with a basic level of respect.

He may well be good at actual surgical procedures, however personally I would never use him for this either because I would have zero trust in receiving any form of aftercare or feel comfortable to raise concerns or ask questions without getting his snotty attitude in return.

When you’re spending this much money and trusting your eyesight to an individual, you should expect a basic level of professionalism and respect in return. Sadly, I never once got this from Mr. Daya.

They won’t be getting another penny from me and I will tell my optometrist to think very carefully about referring anyone else to this practice as it could look bad on them.

Other negatives:
- I noticed on most the scanners and equipment they use that they were all over 5 years past due calibration or maintenance. Most the stickers said they were next due to be calibrated in 2018 or 2019, which doesn’t fill you with confidence.
- I suffered very bad stomach issues when taking their own brand of Omega fish oils and when I contacted them for help and advice, I was ignored for over 2 weeks despite chasing them several times. This really doesn’t make you feel looked after or that they care about you in any way.
- It was always very quick from booking in to getting all the scans done, however when it came to actually see Mr. Daya I was always left waiting excessive amounts of time. On my final appointment I was left waiting for 1.5 hours in total which is ridiculous. He seemed to be very poor at managing his workload and time properly. One of many red flags.

In summary, if you want somewhere that treats you with respect, where you can have an open and relaxed conversation about your concerns and treatment options and that has the latest cutting-edge equipment and treatments available – look elsewhere.

The Laser Sugery on my eyes has has been transformative. I cannot recommend the Centre for Sight more highly. My Daya and all his team have been excellent. Highly professional and very pleasant staff at all levels. The facilities in East Grinstead are superb with excellent parking facilities and easy to access if you live in SE Surrey. Many thanks. I would like to express my thanks to everyone at Centre for Sight, East Grinstead, especially Dr Daya and his outstanding team.

I was nervous about having eye surgery but after my consultation appointment i was put at ease and the moment I met Dr Daya and his team, those fears quickly disappeared.

Dr Daya took the time to explain everything clearly and thoroughly, and his calm reassurance immediately put me at ease. His professionalism, expertise and genuine care gave me complete confidence in the treatment I was about to receive and why lens replacement was the best solution for me

Dr Daya successfully carried out lens replacement on both of my eyes two weeks after my consultation and I can honestly say that I experienced no discomfort at all throughout the procedures. The level of care I received was exceptional and truly first class.

The results after 1 day have been life changing. Before my lens replacements I struggled with my day to day life and work , even while wearing glasses. Now I no longer need glasses, and the difference is unbelievable.

Thank you once again to Dr Daya, and the entire team at Centre for Sight. Your skill, kindness and dedication have made a tremendous difference to my life.

I was recommended to Centre for Sight by my optician as I had been diagnosed with cataracts. The whole experience from the initial consultation, the surgery and the aftercare were excellent and I felt fully supported along the way. I had trifocal lens implants and I now have 20/20 vision and do not need glasses for the first time in 60 years! I would highly recommend the Centre for Sight team.

I went for my first consultation yesterday and was greeted by Rachel a warm and very welcoming patient concierge, she took the time to put me at ease and explain exactly what would be happening with the technicians - she was a very calming influence on a nervous patient. Adora the equally lovely technician then took me through numerous tests and explained in detail exactly what each piece of equipment was testing - if she wasn’t 100% happy with clarity of images they were re done. The whole process took a few hours and the testing couldn’t have been more thorough. I arrived as a nervous patient and left feeling confident about lens replacement feeling I was in the best possible hands. I will now visit the consultant - Mr Daya feeling confident and in the best possible hands for the procedure.

I had a pre surgery consultation to determine if I was a suitable candidate for Lasik laser eye surgery. The team that served me were all highly skilled and extremely professional. At no point did I feel uncomfortable and all my questions were answered. A BIG thank you to Charlie who did my initial assessment, answered my questions, and put me at ease.
Unfortunately, I am not suitable for Lasik due to my overall eye health. I have been offered a full refund with no issues.
I look forward to my return visit next year to see if my eye health has improved enough for an alternative laser eye surgery.

I have been receiving care at Centre for Sight over many years now, and I have always felt totally confident that the consultants and staff know exactly what they are doing and are looking after me in the best way possible. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who wants the best for their eyes and their vision.

I had laser lens replacement in both eyes and now my vision is excellent. I had awful short and long vision, very dry eyes and hayfever so wasn’t an ideal candidate… Mr Khan is superb and put me at ease through the whole procedure and pre/aftercare. I would highly recommend him to all. Adora the technician and the reception staff were also smashing. Having my eyes done gives me a new lease on life and I can now do many things I couldn’t before - such as take my grandson swimming.

I am very grateful for all the treatment received at East Grinstead & Oxshot. Dr Daya and his team made me feel very relaxed and at ease from the moment treatment started. Five out of five.

Excellent experience from start to finish at Centre for Sight. From the initial consultation to the surgery itself, every member of staff was friendly, professional, and incredibly reassuring. I felt fully informed and looked after at every stage.

Just one day after multifocal lens replacement surgery, by Mr Daya, my vision is already amazing. Colours are brighter and more vivid, and the best part is that I won’t need glasses at all anymore. Absolutely delighted with the results so far.

Very Professional service and excellent staff. Centre for sight was recommended to me by a friend so I knew it would be what I wanted. The whole process was made easy by great staff and the end result is amazing.

I had a Trifocal Toric lens replacement to both eyes. A friend recommended the centre and I also did a lot of research. From the moment you walk through the doors and are greeted by the friendly reception staff, you are treated with respect and kindness. The numerous tests I had to go through gave me confidence in the whole procedure. Mr Daya , the consultant surgeon who operated on my eyes, was friendly, informative and reassuring. The operation itself went smoothly, all the nurses, being kind whilst doing their jobs. After re excellent. If you’re thinking of having it done, do it.

I was recommended by a friend to come here for lens replacement surgery. I had the surgery with Dr Saj Khan who performed multi focal lens surgery on me 6 weeks ago. My sight is now near on perfect and can read all the small print along with being able to see distance. My experience here was fantastic from the staff on reception who were very helpful in organising the date of the surgery much quicker than originally offered. Adora who does the testing was fantastic and gave me great confidence along with the lady who looked after me after my procedure. Apologies I don’t recall your name but you were fantastic too.
Mr Khan is very passionate about his work and instilled confidence with me and talked to me throughout my surgery.
I would highly recommend this centre for any eye procedures. A note on the multi focal lens, I do have halos whilst driving at night but have decided to ignore them and now can drive more confidently in the dark. I have no regrets and I am really happy with the outcome

If I Could give 10 stars to East grinstead I would. Never met such a lovely group of super professional and super friendly people. Right from the start with the welcoming smiles at reception to the operation itself everything was faultless. My surgeon. David Shahnazaryan was just amazing and I’m so very happy with my new sight. Only scary bit driving without glasses for the first time in 50 years

I came to Mr Daya through recommendation and was so glad i did The tests were comprehensive and I was treated warmly by Adora and who explained each one and put me completely at ease.Mr Daya explained the procedure and I was happy to have both eyes done. The day of the procedure there were staff keeping me calm, caring & explaining the whole time. Aftercare was exceptional too. I wish I had done this sooner. Sight is better than it was with lenses and glasses. It’s there 24/7 and has improved my life immensely, able to read anything put before me.Having worn glasses and lenses since childhood, at 63 years of age I have a real confidence in all day to day activities. No more squinting at menus.Everything in life is clear and bright. Thankyou soo much to all at team Centre for Sight for a whole new outlook on day to day life.
