Bought a tub of Metamucil for my mother and then found out she had already gotten it. Went to return the unopened tub with the receipt and got told that it counted as a Vitamin Supplement and a return wasn't going to happen. How is this a vitamin supplement?! The product has not been opened and it is clear there is nothing tampered with. On closer inspection I realised how aggressive and anti customer their return policy is. Most things they sell cannot be returned. Buyer beware with this company.

Bought Harkers Herbal Chest Clear 250 ml for $32.00 Got home and found out this was the most expensive price anywhere in NZ. Bargain bullshit....

My cardiologist emailed my prescription directly to the Westgate Chemist Warehouse. After 2 days I rang to check when it would be ready. They told me they didn't have the prescription. After a long conversation I was finally told that they had an IT problem and couldn't access emails. How long would it take to get fixed? Didn't know. The whole experience was very frustrating and I won't be using them again. They're all hype and no service.

I’ve had an extremely disappointing experience at Chemist warehouse Shirley. The staff appear to be quite young and, unfortunately, lack basic social skills and professional manners. There seems to be a culture of unhelpfulness, with staff prioritizing personal conversations over assisting customers — even during operating hours.

On this particular occasion, I arrived to collect a prepaid order that I had a text to say was ready for collection, only to be told I couldn't receive it with no explanation other then "Because I said so". When I questioned this, a very young staff member with glasses and a pony tail argued with me instead of offering a solution- I had clearly interrupted a personal convo. Her attitude was immature and, frankly, snarky — not what you’d expect from a business meant to serve the community- I left without my order and was bluntly told to come back tomorrow- my son made the order for me online for me too pick up and used my Cellphone number to receive the confirmation, he said this was not standard practice with online orders?

I’ve been a loyal customer of Chemist Warehouse since it first opened in New Zealand — probably when this staff member was still in primary school — and after this experience, I won’t be returning to Chemist warehouse Shirley.

It was really easy to get my medicine. The store always has a lot happening, which makes it hard to circumnavigate. Overall a good experience and staff always help out.

False advertising all the time.
But took the cake when I went in to get a Mother’s Day gift at the Sylvia park store where they had tickets everywhere saying a further 20% off gift sets. Went to counter and they hadn’t taken the 20% off. When I corrected her on the price she said it’s already been discounted. Explained it was a further 20% off she asked cashier beside her who didn’t even acknowledge me and said already discounted to her. She got manager who said same thing. Told them they need to remove the discount tickets as it’s very misleading for the customers. He then took the gift set and the ticket and put them both back on the shelf and gave me a dirty look. Would hate to think how many others got charged without realising they didn’t get the advertised 20% off.
Staff were rude and didn’t seem to care they were misleading their customers.
Contacted the complaints email was told someone from management would be in touch and no one has contacted me yet.

It’s not the first time I have noticed this as I went to purchase a perfume months ago to be charged almost double and told it was a misprint yet it never got corrected or taken down then either.

People need to 100% check their dockets or take notice of the amount they are being charged before paying. Especially fragrances as they have a no return or refund policy even if it’s their own botch up.

I have been to Chemist Warehouse Hastings three times. Unfortunately, on my own I haven’t been able to find the products that I needed. This store has a lot of stock and finding what I want is time consuming. The women in the aisles have been reluctant to help, they have been too busy stocking the shelves or disappearing. The only redeeming feature of this store have been the pleasant checkout people.
Re the Carter endorsement, I would have thought that being top sportspeople in their time, the Carters would have been loyal to NZ chemists.

I'm beginning to think the online chemist warehouse opens produces...lately, with purchases online I've received packages that don't have the clear wrap on them...the boxes are dented and the barrier that sits on the top of the face cream missing....these produces are not cheap....

When this pharmacy first came to NZ the savings were genuine. Now I'm getting sick of their false advertising and use of superlatives eg; "you won't find better prices" and "stop paying too much". Blackmores omega brain recently purchased for $36. Checked afterwards to find most other pharmacies at $28 - $33. Same with other products. Prices have crept up to almost the same as any NZ pharmacy and sometimes higher. A price check on their .com.au site shows AUD$23.49 - kiwis getting ripped off again. Will shop elsewhere now.

I got a fast delivery for my items to arrive 3 hours after I placed the online order. I didn’t receive my order until 10am the next morning. Warning you so you don’t make the same mistake I did. Save your $15. And when I called both chemist warehouse store and head office I was met with the same outcome. “A third party delivers it and it’s out of our hands” when I asked for my money back (bc I don’t think it’s fair that I paid the delivery fee and it didn’t arrive it time) they told me they couldn’t and to contact the third party that delivers it instead. Absolute waste of time and money.

Chemist Warehouse definitely saves you money. And they have a huge selection of products. But is it worth it? They have a very rigid, virtually non-existent refund policy even for faulty products so one needs to be very sure when purchasing. They don’t give a personal touch nor do their Chemists seem to be very knowledgeable. I would choose to pay the extra to go to an alternative pharmacy if the service was what I have experienced in the past but currently, those in my area aren’t any better. Many of my friends however have opted for pharmacies in their locations because of the personal touch and the help they receive.

Simply bad online service.
I ordered and after 2 days get a notice out if stock. Ok, this can happen but then they write that they will send order in 4 weeks if I do not cancel the order through their contact form!

My first time ordering anything via Click and Collect and what a pleasant surprise! Excellent service from Chemist Warehouse in Rolleston. I must admit I was feeling apprehensive after placing and paying for my order, only to then come across the Trustpilot website and read the many negative experiences that customers across NZ had had with their local Chemist Warehouse store. Fortunately, my order went through without a hitch. I duly received notification within the four-hour window that my order was ready to be collected, I went in straight away, was greeted by a charming young woman at the counter, my items were checked and it was precise - all five items were in stock as indicated on their website. Well done, Chemist Warehouse Rolleston.

Wairau chemist Efpos machinese putting position was putting too high, also put a piece paper advertisement affecting my card to swipe and my fingers to put in the PIN number.

Went to my nearest Chemist Warehouse Milford with my faulty hairspray. First they tried to fob me off with “we only exchange within 7 days” jargon. I put paid to that bit of bs when I mentioned the NZ Consumer Guarantees Act. Clearly didn’t like that so they wouldn’t exchange and so I had to drive all the way to Glenfield to get an exchange. Staff at Glenfield were quite surprised that Milford wouldn’t exchange.

No one comes at count to serve you no matter how many time you ring the attention bell. Been there 3 times and same thing thing no one helps you to out. No one is on counter.

I had ordered a cologne gift set for my father for Xmas this year, ordered well over a week ago, still hasn't arrived, no email saying it may take a bit longer. Starting to wonder if the courier has lost it.. Now I can't give to my dad like I planned to tomorrow.. Thanks chemist warehouse, absolutely excellent. Next time I will be using perfume nz, and bargain chemist. Absolute joke.

Took a Prescription in, I was clearly in agony having just had a tooth out. Was told I would have to wait 30 mins at least to get a script because I wasn't a regular customer. I told her that was discrimination, and I would go elsewhere. I took my script to a pharmacy in Linwood, no issues 15 mins and it was done. Even offered Panadol while I waited because they could see I was in agony
