Good car park, easy access to the station, friendly staff, nice tea shop, toilets. We were told clearly which carriages to use, and how many people were booked on. The guard came along and asked us if we would like to sit in a Harry Potter cabin. We departed on time. There was an opportunity to buy snacks on board. The countryside was beautiful, there were people that came out to wave to us along the route. The announcements on the train kept us informed. The smell of the smoke and the old train was very nostalgic. You could take your own drinks and snacks on if you wish. Handy toilets. Pleasant staff. We had a very relaxing enjoyable trip. A lovely birthday treat. Everything positive.

Great service, well looked after but the main meal was a bit of a let down. That said, we would return and it was a great experience.

We visited for spud and steam, we were greeted by a friendly man in the car park who told us where to park, we had a coffee in the tea room before getting in the train, the potato was lovely and the views were too everyone had a great day. My only criticism is the tea room is too small for the amount of visitors but everyone was working hard with smiles all round.

We went on the murder mystery dinner train. It was very good, lovely food, fab service and we enjoyed the murder mystery. The only thing I'd change is the end of the murder mystery. For us it would have been better if we'd been asked who we thought the murderer was and why before it was revealed by the cast member.

Amazing volunteers and staff on the railway. We had an amazing afternoon. Our only slight comment was that the beef was a little tough.

A very enjoyable day out on a Bank Holiday!

We booked tickets for one adult and one child and we were treated to being hauled by a steam engine into picturesque countryside. The customer service was exemplary. It was great value for money at £20 for two 2+ hours trips and the child went free. It's a very well run railway line and everyone of the staff was welcoming, smiling (despite the rain showers) and provided that personalised touch. We would highly recommend going...and oh they prefer cash which is how it was back in those days and how we should keep it. Thanks for the experience. :)

Staff were very helpful and the price is very good

Food was fantastic, staff and actors were very good. Really enjoyed the journey and the experience. I think the murder mystery could have more about it and more drama but thats just us 😆 So lucky to have this on our door step. Would highly recommend people to visit

All of the Churnet valley volunteers were extremely polite, welcoming and professional. The food on the Sunday lunch train was really good and drinks very reasonably priced.

To sum it up precisely, everything was absolutely brilliant. We have a Blue Badge and one of your staff told us were to park in the reserved area when we arrived as the car park was already full. All the staff were very helpful and curteous in the station and on the train. The lunch was superb and plentiful. It was worth the 205 mile round trip from home for the train experience!

My husband was 80 on Sunday and he loves steam trains so he really enjoyed it as our whole family was able to join us 30 of us thank you some of us has travelled a lot of miles also thank you .

Very organised, great pie and a delightful train journey!

What was annoying is when I booked the website showing table seating with proper coffee and tea cups and cake on plates, I was surprised to be handled a bag with the cakes and to be seated on different carages. If I new that will happen I would have paid extra and sat on proper tables. It does not worth the price for a cake and coffee to sit in the rear of the train, and to wait nearly one month for this trip. The disappointment made me ill, I was in bed with bad headache and body pain since I have arrived home in Manchester. And we cancelled all of our holiday plans yesterday.

I only liked the scenery, although it was raining I had some good pictures taken after opening the doors windows.

The whole trip was wonderful from the beautiful scenery to the staff, particularly the waiters and waitresses
