Taking in the full extended line and relaxing despite the wet weather. Was initially disappointed we had a diesel but that changed to steam at Cheddleton so cheers all around. I know that steam locomotives are temperamental and breakdown but it does show that they're a critical part of the experience. Well for me at least.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Butty and Brew experience. It provides excellent value for a breakfast bap, a hot drink and a return trip on the train. All aspects of our visit from booking online to disembarking the train were really well organised and went very smoothly. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and worked hard to make the visit a success. One tip: collect your butty and choice of drink early as the cafe is quite small at Froghall Station and gets very busy just prior to departure time.

Lovely afternoon tea yesterday very attentive staff and lovely surroundings. This is our second experience and was just as good as the first when we had the breakfast.

The train got stuck branch across the line. This caused delay so ride back was in the dark so not as enjoyable.
The pie and mash was nice. I was pleased how warm it was kept and the train was not overcrowded.

It was an enjoyable and relaxing ride on the train for 2 half hours. We ordered a nice jacket potatoes with tuna, we also enjoyed it. Staff were very friendly and aware of us deaf couple, 2 ladies wrote information on the paper. We really enjoyed it and will go back again in the future 😊

We booked the murder mystery dining train as a birthday gift and it was a really good 2 hour experience. The staff, actors, food and scenery were all brilliant.

We had such a fantastic evening. The acting was incredible, the slap and tickle atmosphere was hilarious. Our food was amazing and the staff were brilliant. Definitely booking again.

I would 100% recommend the breakfast train on the Churnet Valley. The staff were all lovely, enthusiastic and friendly. The only thing that would make it even better would be to have the breakfast baps delivered during the journey to break it up a bit. We had collected ours and eaten them before the train had left the station! The scenery on the journey was beautiful. We’d definitely do it again. Thank you to all the staff.

What a great night! The food was fabulous. Waiting staff were polite and helpful and efficient. The murder mystery was great fun and the characters made it very entertaining.

I purchased this experience for my sisters birthday. We love a good detective show and fancied ourselves as one. Booking was seamless, with the only difficulty being that you had to decide very quickly which type of murder experience you wanted to book. I opted for 'Arthur's 80th Birthday'!!

We arrived 20 mins early, with parking readily avaliable and checked in at the front desk. We made our way to the 'VIP' carriage and the game began from the moment you are greeted by the actor who plays Arthur. The only thing I was taken back by, aside from the stunning steam train, was that we forgot we were in a scene. This meant we needed to respond as a guest of Arthur's, celebrating his 80th birthday (rookie mistake) and from that moment we were suspicious of everyone. Ha!.

The acting was superb, food was delicious and the staff serving were inviting and attentive. My sister and I are already planning out next steam train murder mystery event! We loved every second of it from the drive to the beautiful station, engaging in the story, the food and the guests that we shared clues with.

I highly recommend this experience! Such a great evening out!

This was a lovely way to spend the evening with friends. All the staff were friendly, and the jacket potatoes were delicious. We had a wonderful time, and we're planning on coming again.

The staff were polite and friendly. The pie, mash and peas were yummy there was plenty of meat in it, it was hot and ready for collection. The train was very clean and comfortable. We were kept informed on stations, tunnels approaching. Very good value for money. Definitely come again. Thank you to everyone involved who made it an enjoyable experience 😉 x

All aboard the steam train for an evening of fine dining, and a 1970’s themed murder mystery. I arranged this for me and four of my family members.
The train was spotlessly clean.
We had a 3-course meal, each course was delicious and plenty more than we were expecting to receive.
The actors played their parts well and stayed in character until everyone had departed and left.
It was a great evening and opportunity to do something a little different with my family. I would 100% recommend this.

What a wonderful relaxing experience this was. Lovely food and great staff. A+
