We booked the murder mystery dining train as a birthday gift and it was a really good 2 hour experience. The staff, actors, food and scenery were all brilliant.
I'd really recommend this

We had such a fantastic evening. The acting was incredible, the slap and tickle atmosphere was hilarious. Our food was amazing and the staff were brilliant. Definitely booking again.

Would highly reccomend. Such a lovely afternoon doing the afternoon tea. Staff were amazing and very knowledgeable when asking them questions about the train and other events happening. We had a lovely day. Thank you.

I would 100% recommend the breakfast train on the Churnet Valley. The staff were all lovely, enthusiastic and friendly. The only thing that would make it even better would be to have the breakfast baps delivered during the journey to break it up a bit. We had collected ours and eaten them before the train had left the station! The scenery on the journey was beautiful. We’d definitely do it again. Thank you to all the staff.

What a great night! The food was fabulous. Waiting staff were polite and helpful and efficient. The murder mystery was great fun and the characters made it very entertaining.

I purchased this experience for my sisters birthday. We love a good detective show and fancied ourselves as one. Booking was seamless, with the only difficulty being that you had to decide very quickly which type of murder experience you wanted to book. I opted for 'Arthur's 80th Birthday'!!

We arrived 20 mins early, with parking readily avaliable and checked in at the front desk. We made our way to the 'VIP' carriage and the game began from the moment you are greeted by the actor who plays Arthur. The only thing I was taken back by, aside from the stunning steam train, was that we forgot we were in a scene. This meant we needed to respond as a guest of Arthur's, celebrating his 80th birthday (rookie mistake) and from that moment we were suspicious of everyone. Ha!.

The acting was superb, food was delicious and the staff serving were inviting and attentive. My sister and I are already planning out next steam train murder mystery event! We loved every second of it from the drive to the beautiful station, engaging in the story, the food and the guests that we shared clues with.

I highly recommend this experience! Such a great evening out!

This was a lovely way to spend the evening with friends. All the staff were friendly, and the jacket potatoes were delicious. We had a wonderful time, and we're planning on coming again.

The staff were polite and friendly. The pie, mash and peas were yummy there was plenty of meat in it, it was hot and ready for collection. The train was very clean and comfortable. We were kept informed on stations, tunnels approaching. Very good value for money. Definitely come again. Thank you to everyone involved who made it an enjoyable experience 😉 x

All aboard the steam train for an evening of fine dining, and a 1970’s themed murder mystery. I arranged this for me and four of my family members.
The train was spotlessly clean.
We had a 3-course meal, each course was delicious and plenty more than we were expecting to receive.
The actors played their parts well and stayed in character until everyone had departed and left.
It was a great evening and opportunity to do something a little different with my family. I would 100% recommend this.

Everyone on the railway was very friendly and helpful. Apart from taking a long time to collect the coffee and cakes at Froghall refreshment rooms, the whole experience was excellent and I would be happy to recommend the railway to friends. Compared to other lines we have travelled the coaches were in much better condition and very clean.

We really enjoyed our experience. The customer service, excellent 3 course meal, comfort and atmosphere really made our night.

Churned Valley is a lovely spot for a relaxed evening out. The Pie & Mash was really tasty. The two‑hour steam train ride through the valley is very calming and surprisingly calming, the staff on the train were very pleasant. Would recommend this, cant wait to do the polar express ride.
